Can we start a thread to discuss the lack of success rather than filling the Harper thread with it? I am really not interested in your discussion but want to know Harper news...6 points

Did they have White Sox fans pitching tents in their pants while staring at him in RF.4 points

No he didn’t. He was asked what he thought would happen with Harper and Machado. Sherman said he thinks Philly gets Machado and both guys get their money. He said it’s going to take a little longer and more grinding by agents is needed. He then said he sees whoever gives the most money gets Harper since he has been waiting for this moment since he was in HS. He specifically mentioned the Sox as a possibility. THEN was asked about Harper to the Dodgers and he said he doesn’t see it happening. He said it would take over $300 million to sign him and he doesn’t see the Dodgers interested UNLESS on a short term deal. Does think Bryce is interested in playing in LA for the star reasons and it’s close to Vegas. You should really think about stopping your nonsense posts or at least try and actually report what they said. It’s seriously becoming unbearable your sources and inside info changes as much as the wind blows enough please.4 points

The onzie MLB merch usually comes out much later than the adult merch. You cool with waiting?3 points

peavy44 told us Boras has nothing to do with this. It's all Harper and all he wants is Chicago. So have faith. His facebook source is pretty, pretty, pretty good.3 points

This post confirms Harper will be coming to the Sox.3 points

With all of this back and forth talk I've become so crabby around the house that my wife is ready to kick me out. Get one signed, for the sake of my marriage!3 points

Every city looks great when you have $400 million in your pocket2 points

This sounds more like an airport story and less an LA story. That guy could have lived anywhere.2 points

Been to Milwaukee. Also, Kandahar. Some portion of the population was actively trying to kill me, and it was still a friendlier city than LA.2 points

LA fucking sucks. Stop defending that hellhole. Moving on, Harper signs tonight. Believe.2 points

Everyone should just send Bryce Eloy highlights on twitter.2 points

Hope it works next time as well. I was like Will Ferrell in Old School and blacked out when it happened.2 points

Building a brand? He can do that on the Southside. He comes to us and he is instantly the star. Not gonna be that way in LA, where he'll still be second-tier to Kershaw and probably others.2 points

Do we think he announces us signing Harper now or waits until SoxFest?2 points

60 wins teams don’t become 90 win teams in one offseason. A step in the right direction is, well, a step in the right direction.2 points

Well the longer the wait to sign them, the more obvious it becomes they are waiting on the teams they prefer to make big time offers. Harpwr may be waiting on the Dodgers to move Puig and a few others.2 points

Of course that can be the case. I just dont see any benefits to leaking that then.2 points

Alright, I'm pretty sure you've said this at least 5 times today.1 point

Rightfully so. None of the starting pitchers on the market are worth overpaying for.1 point

Even more obvious is the fact a couple of the big name media members have started to put the Sox in top spots to land so good ol reliable KW mouthpiece comes in to shut down all the hype. This is good, get it done Sox1 point

Whatever the antonym of downplay is, that's what Hahn is doing about the rumors. He seems to really believe we're getting a whale and he's barely trying to hide it1 point

2021. It's the year that everyone should be arrived, the whole outfield, everything at W-S last year should be up, it's the first arbitration year for Moncada, Lopez, and Giolito so they're still cheap. The guys they don't have room for should be tradeable for an extra all star or two. This team should be f***ing loaded in 2021. If it isn't, then this front office completely blew their talent evaluation and development to a degree I haven't seen in baseball in my lifetime.1 point

Wait on the prospects. No reason in blowing the cash just because we have it.1 point

As time goes on this is what I think... A) neither harper or machado are signing this week, but both have a very, very strong idea of where they're going. They probably have 1 and 1A for scenarios. Harper: My guess is that right now the Sox/Phillies have very similar offers out there. Which is higher, who knows. I do honestly think that Harper will come to the Sox if those were just the two options on the table. However what his rush to sign? Yes it's screwing over teams like the Phillies and Sox to wait around -- but that doesn't matter to him. I think he'd be fine taking either of those two offers, and would be a White Sox sometime around the new year. That being said I think he's clearly waiting for the Dodgers or Cubs to make moves to free up cap space and would easily sign with either of those two teams for slightly less money. The fact the Dodgers are so clearly wanting to move pieces around?? Scary. Harper would be close to home. Hollywood. It's a match made in heaven. Odds: Dodgers 60% Cubs 15% White Sox 15% Phillies 10% Machado: Same story basically. I think the Phillies and Sox have the best current offers out there. I truly believe the only other team in the hunt is the Yankees. Again I think the chances are about equal and will come down to whoever puts the most money on the table, but I think Machado is going to wait around to see if the Yankees can make some moves and acquire him. If they're out he'll take the most money on the table. Odds: Yankees 70% White Sox 15% Phillies 15%1 point

No kidding. My grading is getting done a lot slower than it should. When the students complain I can blame it on baseball, I'm sure they'll understand.1 point
