  1. Get this BOZO out of here. What a temper tantrum millennial. Last picture is him in a LeBron jersey... what a coincidence!

  3. Two things can be true at once. TLR was 100% wrong in how he handled the 3-0 count/HR situation with Yermin. Basically the entire roster sided with Yermin over Tony. It was dumb then and it's still dumb now. Under no circumstance should that situation lead someone to retire from the sport. Yermin had an incredible 6 week run or whatever it was, but decided he was "above" making adjustments at the plate, wanted to keep doing his own thing, and it led to him going back to AAA. If TLR throwing him under the bus was really his mental downfall, he didn't have much of a future with MLB to start with... I wish the best for him, he's clearing upset with something and if he's not happy....go find that happiness.

  4. TLR shit all over him publicly after a 3-0 pitch. He was on fucking fire leading up to that moment. Everything went down hill for him from there. None of us have any idea how he took that mentally, so you can't really say there is zero possibility what TLR did had any impact on him. Clearly things changed for him after that moment. Maybe it was TLR crusty old ass, or it was the league adjusting to him, or he was never that good in the first place. We probably will never know and only Yermin knows for sure. Hopefully he's ok mentally. That's the most important thing.

  5. This is not aimed at any poster in particular. But the fact that basically one hot week from Moncada can bring this round of recriminations and reversals speaks volumes to the depth of analysis behind the Moncada "hate." There's no reason to change your fundamental opinion of Moncada based on three HRs or a short hot streak. He was awesome before and he's still awesome.

  6. Yoan Moncada is currently ranks 30th of qualified hitters in terms of wRC+ at 136. Heā€™s also ranked 29th in overall defensive value and 17th in fWAR. Heā€™s currently on pace for a 5 to 6 win season. His ceiling may be higher simply because heā€™s one of the most physically gifted players in the game, but heā€™s hands down been our best position player and one of the best in baseball. The hot takes in this thread about him are an absolute abomination.

  8. If Tony wasnā€™t stuck in the fucking 80ā€˜s the game is still tied btw. EVERY other team puts on a pull shift against Donaldson

  10. It also means retreat. The lack of diversity on this site is hilarious and unsurprising.

  11. I will root for Yermin until the end of his career. He has worked his ass off in the minirs for a decade. He also carried the whole team on his back the first 6 weeks. I hope he catches on somewhere. Burger and Sheets , not only because of their good starts with the bat, but also because of their ability to play a defensive position have pretty much buried him on the depth chart.

  12. The nonchalant trout of Abreu panning to Timmy and especially Moncada going absolutely nuts is fucking amazing. I love this team, man.

  15. As the creator of this thread, I just wanna take a moment to pour one out for the people who thought the translation was inaccurate, and it didnā€™t actually mean he was retiring.

  18. Retiro means retirement in Spanish as I am a Spanish speaker. However to these players that have Urban influenced lingo it might either mean moving on from White Sox since his Sox stuff was removed or just a slogan for almost done with season

  19. This guy's WAR is only slightly higher than Jose Ramirez'. What a huge disappointment. I had high hopes for Yoan Moncada. I can't believe the Sox traded Chris Sale for him and that hack Kopech, who Donaldson just teed off of last night. Robbed.

  20. Hopefully the Sox. That's a lot of pay for a 34 YO reliever on a market rate (at best) deal. Guy makes more than Liam on an AAV basis.

  21. Ah, the post from all of last week when Parkman said if the Sox hadnā€™t signed him to an extension they probably wouldnā€™t even pick up his option lol

  22. Look, Iā€™m not blaming Tony for this decision, but I wonā€™t give him a free pass for humiliating his player publicly and telling the other teams itā€™s ok to throw at his guys. Doesnā€™t matter what level of sports this is, manage your shit in the clubhouse and not in the media. And never, under any circumstance tell the other team they can throw a 90+ MPH projectile at one of your guys. I hate defending a guy like Law, but if thatā€™s what heā€™s referring to then Iā€™m in agreement with him.

  23. That pitch Cease threw to Donaldson with first base open was unforgivable. He and half this bullpen would have no business on a playoff roster. If Cease happened to turn into Tell Me A Trevor Story would be fine by me. For comfort, I'm still playing last night's fantastic call of Sheet's walkoff by Len Kasper. It was Brickhouse-Caray-Harrelson-esque.

  24. twitter is the dumbest fucking thing. people trying to make a name for themselves yelling really loudly how TLR caused this. You gotta be bleepin' me! These people should be ashamed of their stupidity.

  28. Iā€™ve heard the Marlins GM Kim Ng is interested in Yermin. Both (Lopez) have a good opportunity at playing time / revitalizing their careers down there, Yermin with the DH once baseball resumes post CBA.

  33. It feels like you are week to week with the guy. He has done nothing but be awesome all year and just last week you were ready to bounce him for Jake Burger. And he is a left handed power hitting middle of the order hitter which makes it all the more baffling. Let the guy play

  34. Frazier is an average player in a career year fueled by numbers that look anomalous. I wouldn't even be sure he will sustain the production in the final two months of THIS season, let alone being viable next year.

  37. Moncada is now playing like the 5 tool super star, for whom some of us have been waiting. If anyone wants to fault us for wanting this version of Yoan, feel free to do so. I just hope that this is the guy we see, going forward. Few of us have ever doubted that he has the talent to be great. It's just that some have been content to accept less.

  38. Greg, All I can say is "be the change you want to see in the world." If we dont want things to get worse, then we need to be the ones to do our part to make it better. Many other generations of Americans faced difficult tasks and they had to rise to the occasion. This will likely be my generations greatest test, we have to come together and beat this. Where I disagree is that its out of my control. Maybe no one will ever read a word I say, but maybe they will. Maybe I can convince 1 person, who convinces 1 more person and it makes a difference. Its simply not acceptable to live through a catastrophic event and not ask yourself "What can I do?". Im not a doctor, Im not a scientist, Im not anyone that can make a direct impact, but every once in a while I can write something that maybe makes a little sense to someone. So why wouldnt I try? There is nothing "pragmatic" about your approach. The pragmatic approach is to go to whatever lengths possible to keep convincing people to get the vaccine. Being complacent has never accomplished anything. This makes no sense with what I was saying. I want to go on an airplane, Im fine taking the risk that he will be okay sitting in a row that I pay for. The problem is that right now airlines are enforcing a mask possible, which means I cant operate in my own guidelines. So since the govt is going to interfere with my life until we get through this, I am going to do my best to make it happen as quickly as possible. You can window dress any argument, but its really simple: Vaccines will mean we get our lives back faster. As long as that is true, I am going to try and convince people to get vaccines.
