Just going to throw this out there....could you imagine Timmy's bat flip if he hits a walkoff?7 points

36 year old Ervin Santana, coming off of an ERA of 8.03 with a FIP of 7.94 will wind up being paid around $1,370,000 per start by the White Sox. Can't spend $1 if you only have $0.50.6 points

I actually enjoy Jerry having his money lit on fire at this point. It's not like he's going to spend it on legit upgrades anyways so fuck it...burn it all.6 points

Thank god. At least the Sox haven't been shy about DFA'ing guys this year.4 points

You quite honestly waited for his one bad game to say this nonsense, huh? Had it all saved in your phone and you took the opportunity? You sound incredibly stupid. Before today he had 2+ hits in all but like 3 games including a 1.400 OPS but hey he's 0-3 today so Adam Engel should continue to get playing time3 points

Unlike some here I have no problem with this. Gordon Beckham didn't fail because he was rushed. He wasnt good enough. If you're good enough you'll adjust and survive. Baseball is learning this as well.3 points

Rushing prospects is now good? White Sox are going to White Sox. Go back to the old way that produced some nice busts. PLEASE SELL THE TEAM JR SO SOMEONE WHO CAN WILL HAVE THE URGENCY TO BRING IN DIFFERENT PEOPLE TO MAKE BASEBALL DECISIONS.2 points

I mean, rolling the dice on Santana wasn't an awful idea. We needed pitching depth. He was hurt most of last year. He pretty good in 16 and 17. Its the fact that they paid him $4.1M. If it was $1M or $1.5M, so what. I mean its not my money. But when you add it up the sum of the $4M here, $8M here, $3M here, and $9M here for a bunch of garbage, its just so head scratching.2 points

You've made some great calls on this site in the past (draft, in game, etc). This is one of your best my friend.1 point

I like Timmy's long con of intentionally getting Abreu out so that he could walk it off and bat flip it it.1 point

You better believe all the new TA fans will be pimping this and they will see it. Hahahah1 point

How are you guys blaming Tim? He was tagging up, but the ball was so high. That’s not his fault.1 point

I have a dog. She's great. Robert shouldn't be promoted yet. It should wait until around the draft. Paul Sullivan keeps writing that he should skip AA and go to AAA, which is an asinine recipe for failure. But his first bad game all season, coming back from a hand contusion, you have to come into the thread swinging because holy shit a baseball player had a subpar game. Not with the logjam, but yeah, it's context for why he'll probably be pushing a promotion come June.1 point

I also hate fans trying to find something to enjoy in this dumpster fire of a season.1 point

Because it is 0-2 and pitchers usually waste at least one pitch. You're baseball stupid if you don't understand that. Just b****ing for the sake of b****ing1 point

I don’t think the failure to sign Machado was the team being cheap. The Boss was probably more concerned with the length of the contract and being on the hook for guaranteed big bucks1 point

I just can’t believe teams were lining up for a questionable Ervin Santana and willing to pay that much. I mean Wade Miley only got a $4.5M guarantee with up to $500k in incentives. Drew Pomeranz got $1.5M guaranteed with up to $3.5M in incentives. How in the world did Santana get $4.1M? Almost seems like a favor to his agent.1 point

As long as it doesn't affect our Value Sundays. What a fucked up franchise this is.1 point

I wasn't considering value at all, since winning isn't really a thing that matters this year. None of the offseason signings will add anything to the team when it matters. At best they are all zero value. I was looking at just plain dollars. Honestly, I thought it was less than the 4.1, I was thinking he was like 1.5, maybe I switched the numbers in my head. Either way you are right. Waste of money. Terrible signing. Trend more than exception.1 point

Just added to the tab. Him, Alonso and Jay, you are halfway to one of the years they couldn't afford Machado, and that is before investment.1 point

I would love to see him use a big barrel Nellie Fox type bat and choke-up. A little more bat control and a lot more contact. Can't hurt to try.1 point
