Maybe I'll grill up some onions in the kitchen with a fan wafting it through the rest of the house like they do at the ballpark.... at least until my wife questions what they hell I am doing5 points

To be fair, if we had an actual second baseman in the game, in the 1st, its probably the solo HR to Kepler, and the inning is over. Then, Gio's start is not nearly as bad. All in the name of an extra year of control...4 points

Wish grandal would have gotten another one of those overrated rbis.4 points

I’ll always have a soft spot for Nicky. He was warming up one day in 2017 I believe was the year... at Dodgers stadium. While coming in, I hollered to him... “Hey Nicky, this is my sons first game.” He went into the dugout and quickly returned with a ball that he tossed to me saying, “give this to him!”4 points

Based on what the Twins leadoff hitter does this evening, I will crack open one of the following: Strikeout: Sox Golden Ale Groundout: Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Flyout: Gumballhead Any hit: Star Chicken Shotgun I actually want to open the Star Chicken but hope I don't have to3 points

My last Opening Day thread was in 2016, a 4-3 win in Oakland. Let's ignore the rest of that season, we want good vibes here. I can't remember the last time I actually expected us to make the playoffs. No matter how/if we get there, these next few months will be fun. Buckle up2 points

It is fun to be excited about baseball again - this team may not be the best but they are going to be fun and after the 2010-2019 era this is a nice change to be fired up for white Sox baseball again!2 points

Best part of the Cubs screwing off to their own network is the practically zero coverage of them on NBCSC. It's all White Sox and it's awesome.2 points

Correct, and not to mention, it doesn't matter at all. One guy could have a pregnant wife, an immunocompromised family, and still choose to play. That doesn't make another player wrong for opting out with some, or even none, of those circumstances2 points

Kopech's wife just posted on Instagram that they're having a boy. There's the very valid reason for the opt out, and congrats to them. Kopech with dad strength will be tossing 105mph heaters in '212 points

I like the lineup. I was done with Nicky but I'm actually really excited for him this year. He has such a sweet swing, and the shoulder injury sounds terrible. I hope he kills it.2 points

I don’t like your math here. Assuming the 100 win team has a 61.7% of winning each game and the 62 win team has a 38.3% of winning each game, the 62 win team would win the 3 game series 32.7% of the time. But it’s even lower than that because you can’t just say a team that is 100-62 will win 61.7% of their games. They did win that percentage of games in the regular season, but that was against a wide range of opponents. When playing a 62-100 team, their chances of winning an individual game has to be higher than 61.7%.2 points

If the White Sox can pull a 13-7 mark against the Twins and Indians this year, it will punch their ticket to the playoffs. Let tonight be win #1.2 points

I have a prediction that this will be the most exciting baseball season of ours lives... March Madness-esque. Let the COVID CUP begin!2 points

Remember when "Opening Day" was an annual event to skip school and head out to the ballpark. Now it is "Opening Night"2 points

Hate it. Makes both regular season and playoffs less interesting. The only interesting late season games will involve sub 500 teams. Then you'll have some garbage teams fluking their way past the best teams in a three game series. Would be better off just eliminating the regular season and putting all the teams in the playoffs with each series a best of nine. Then we'd be seeing meaningful games all year instead of watching the best teams coast half the year while sub 500 teams battle for playoff spots.2 points
