  1. So basically, Junk vs Junk at this point.
  2. This teams record in one run games is an indictment on TLR.
  3. I am glad this got to happen. This kid is what baseball should be all about. The game has so much fun and joy in it, if you take the time to find it. Great for the way this kid is being raised, and good on the Sox/Kimbrel for making this happen.
  4. Time to say goodbye to Goodwin
  5. How many times have we seen this exact situation play out with Keuchel? 5? 8? The difference between the 2 or 3 seed could be the Sox having a manager who's stuck in the 00's that doesn't know how to manage a mediocre 5th starter.
  6. I just don't understand Tony's logic to bunt with Garcia there. Playing for one run in a tie game in the 5th inning? Not only that but you have to know Goodwin is up next and the Angels have a lefty up in the pen.
  7. Please don't send him out for the 6th.
  8. Angels broadcast: “Tall assignment tonight against a former CY Young Award Winner” Oh, I long for your optimism. ?
  9. The kid has already contributed more to this season than Kimbrel.
  10. Man it's important to rest guys but it's also important to get home field against the Astros.
  11. Can you catch obesity from your fellow person? Can it be prevented by vaccination? also, do you believe Obesity is not a national issue? Are you actively encouraged to get obese because science doesn't prove it kills you? come on man, lets talk about Covid and not whatabout it
  12. I love his glove. Eclipses Nicky by far. His bat has to improve just a little to give them enough reason to sign him. Betcha they do.
  13. Not just Ivermectin, although that on is problematic obviously. He specifically said "Young and healthy people don't need to worry about getting the vaccine" (false, that's literally why vaccines work, he claimed mRNA vaccines are "Gene therapy" (completely false), and ranted about how vaccine mandates are abhorrent and offensive to the things established in 1776 (complete misunderstanding of history, and notably George Washington instituted a smallpox vaccine mandate for his army). So he is also a serial misinformer on this subject who has taken advantage of his platform to encourage things that hurt people.
  14. I have listened to his podcast many times. I understand that he is a comedian who brings in guests for alternating views. I also understand that there are many people that buy into his health views and use them as proof in questioning professionals. Greg did not present him as a comedian, Greg presented him as someone who beat Covid by non traditional methods even though the guy got the monoclonal treatment that normal Joe's can't afford
  15. Don’t know about that. He’s been league average or better in K% at each level
  16. Totally unnecessary run allowed. If you’re not trying to win, then don’t play your main guys.
  17. There's no way you can say he pitched a good game given how many guys he let on base. Yeah he got out of jams, but if the Angels weren't running out 3 real hitters and a AAA lineup, Keuchel probably would have given up 5 runs already. My biggest concern with him is that he's a control pitcher with bad stuff that can no longer command the strike zone. The thing that made him good before is something he can't do anymore.
  18. He's fine as a 4 inning pitcher. I know people might come on here and dunk on me because DK pitched out of it. Cool. We've seen him blow games in that exact situation like 7 times this year. I think if you used Keuchel behind an opener or only let him go twice through the order, he can still be effective. The issue is Tony always tries to push him for 5 or 6 when things are going well and he implodes.
  19. wonderfully pitched by dallas of course
  20. I don't understand fixating on number of pitches or how many innings Keuchel should pitch when he has some of the largest times through the order splits in baseball.
  21. It’s 2021, pitch count doesn’t mean much
  22. 3 balls hit at 100+ MPH that inning. I think we're seeing this guy better the 2nd time through alright.
  23. Moncada's raw power is still in there. The exit velo's have been good all year. Love to see him hitting a bomb like that.
  24. That was kilt. 111 off the bat.
  25. To be honest. This is great and wonderful. Watching this on TV made me miss my father even more because baseball was one of the things we shared that we love. Just really great and I love that when everyone has written baseball off, this kid could be this inspired by something he saw from his favorite baseball player. Truly inspiring and awesome!
  26. Glad he got him after that display
  27. He is not a long term solution. I have seen too many like him.
  28. Los Angeles Angels selected the contract of RHP Janson Junk from Rocket City Trash Pandas. July 31, 2021. So he's Junk from the Trash. Truth is stranger than fiction.
  29. I will let you know LaRussa’s thoughts on this as soon as he returns my calls
  30. 2 points
I’ll save you the time, TLR.
  31. Imagine if he had the starter from yesterday’s first name: Packy Junk.
  32. The person you quoted is incorrect regarding Dallas' contract. Dallas needs 320 combined innings the next two seasons, with a minimum of 160 IP in 2022, and also needs to "pass a physical" after the 2022 season. If he pitched 159 innings this season, "keeping him under 160 this year", he vests by pitching 161 innings next season.
  33. Wow I thought you were just kidding. I looked up who’s actually pitching for the Angels and his last name is Junk. Lol ?
  34. I hope we can make a deal with the Cubs for Madrigal.
  35. When Joe Rogan is considered controversial then color me puzzled. Honest question, have you listened to him? Have you heard him talk in long form? Or are you just going by snippets? Because he brings on everybody from both sides, he brings in authors and doctors and political people across the board. He's a very reasoned individual. You may not agree with him on everything, but if someone like him is controversial than help us all.
  36. They got Anderson and Giolito, and then Charlotte asked if you would like Fry with that?
  37. In 2021, how people still think this is funny is beyond me.
  38. I bet a lot women could play better baseball than you. Cute insult.
  39. Shocking that players are getting rest with a big division lead
  40. See how hilarious it is the September day Cleveland overtakes CWS.
  41. Yeah, fuck World Series-winning Ozzie for his Sunday lineups in '05. I'm sure that extra rest had nothing to do with the team going 11-1 in the postseason. Should've focused more on the fans, dammit. And fuck La Russa too for keeping his team fresh. Not like he knows anything about winning 3 World Series and 6 pennants. And fuck La Russa again for not playing TA against the professional MLB trainers' recommendation. Reinsdorf needs to wake up. Stop hiring these bums like Ozzie and La Russa, and look at the talent pool we have on SoxTalk.
