  1. Reinsdorf needs to sell. He doesn’t give a shit about anything besides trying to win on his own terms. Him and Tony just need to leave this franchise and go b**** about the status of the game elsewhere.

  2. People need to start accepting this team just isn’t good. They’ve given us no reason all year to think it’s a playoff team. The rebuild is in peril.

  3. but also I don't care if it's DSL. This is nice power to see. Robert destroyed DSL in 28 games, but he had 3 HRs. Chappelli is at 5 home runs in 16 games and more walks than Ks, again like robert. Does it mean he's luis robert? Of course. You heard it here first.

  4. I'm at the lowest point of my fandom as an adult. That's all. A very solipsistic view but one I'm sure is shared by quite a few people around 30-50.

  5. I said this yesterday but if they fire him now, they lose their scapegoat for when the season ends. God forbid the media focus on why Hahn still has a job.

  6. I've watched very little baseball the last four days, but I saw we went 3-1. I assume nothing else of consequence has happened, just that we've played good baseball and I plan to look no further into it.

  7. He's been the log jam holding up moving everybody down a position on the defensive spectrum for too long. He should honestly be traded if the Sox are under .500 in early August.

  8. I for one am glad I got to witness, in person, a triple play, baseball history, and perhaps the dumbest play in White Sox history all in one foul swoop. Fire Tony.

  9. I can’t even blame the players. This is literally an inbred organization that has done so little from the outside and so little to actually innovate the game or even invest in all the relevant modern tech. They are truly pathetic - a complete laggard at all things and it shows in almost everything they do.

  10. Title of thread says it all. Johny Cueuto is probably the smartest. In my opinion, there is a 24 way tie for dumbest. When Eloy replaces Burger on the roster, it will be a 25 way tie.

  11. Building an entire roster out of players who are best suited to play 1B or DH and still not being able to hit for power or draw walks is quite a feat. Bravo, Rick Hahn.

  12. I’ve never seen a team more in need of a managerial change, but of course there’s no chance of that.

  14. Again, ignoring half of the league's player pool over a couple of poor signings (and truly, that is all it is), is absolutely insane. NL to White Sox doesn't mean you suck. Signing shitty players that are towards the end of their career that provide little value outside of their bat is why this has been an issue for the Sox. But carry on with this crazy thought process if you wish.

  15. Abreu is one of about 3-4 White Sox hitters who is actually doing his job. The others are Tim Anderson, and Andrew Vaughn. Everyone else should be ashamed of their performances.

  16. I don't even care about wins and losses anymore this season, because it's fairly clear that Minnesota and Cleveland are better. I do care about getting the guys that were supposed to be their core hitters going again, and that is what the remainder of the season should be about. Get Eloy/Moncada/Robert back to being good players, and go get 'em next year.

  17. This is not a smart organization. At no point do we see the strong fundamental play from our own players. Guys that come through our system are flawed. They lack basic baseball IQ and might as well not know why a mitt belongs on their other hand. There is no "whitesox" way being taught in the minors. And the system is so thin if you do anything that passes for acceptable you get promoted quickly. And miss out on some development they are not providing anyway.

  20. These guys need to get their October plans ready because it won't involve playing baseball. This team can't go on a run because we lack basic baseball intelligence and fundamentals.

  21. This team is really fucking dumb. Horrible fundamentals.

  24. I honestly can't remember a team that I disliked more over the last almost 25 years. There just aren't many baseball players on this team. There are a bunch of athletes that are larping as baseball players and have the baseball IQ of a tree root.

  25. Fans who complain about starting pitchers not going long enough are as annoying to me as those that used to complain about teams being too reliant on homers. Give me 5 dominant innings from a starter and you will have a great team.

  30. Schwarber is going to hit more homers in July than the entire Sox team. Good job Rick

  31. Moncada had a higher WAR last season than Eloy has for his entire career. 27 year olds with Yoan's track record don't just grow on trees. They need to get him right, not trade him away.

  32. Normally I am not with you and more on the positive side but this is some of the absolute worst baseball I have ever seen in my life and the biggest group of underachievers I have ever seen offensively.

  35. This team is bad in far too many area's to have any real shot at making the playoffs. They lead the AL in errors per game. They are second to last in walks per game and second to last in opponents walks per game. They are 3rd from last in extra base hit % They are third from last in At Bats Per HR So they can't field, they don't draw walks but give up a ton. They don't hit for power. This team was so poorly constructed. You have three guys who are 1B/DH playing the OF. The team is full of slow, unathletic types. Then on top of that guys you expected to produce like Grandal, Moncada, Jimenez and Pollock are giving you nothing. We will see how they respond tonight in what is a very big game for a lot of reasons. Lose tonight and I expect the Twins will sweep and the Sox will be in real danger of being out of the race by the break.

  37. The Sox had the 7th best wRC+ in June at 115. This was a significant improvement vs. what we saw from March to May, where we ranked 25th overall with an 88 wRC+. However, below are our splits in June (left of pipe) and from March to May (right of pipe). BB rate: 6.5% (28th) | 6.4% (30th) K rate: 22.2% (17th) | 19.8% (5th) ISO: .128 (26th) | .124 (26th) HRs: 20 (27th) | 41 (23rd) BABIP: .351 (1st) | .275 (25th) GB rate: 45.6% (4th) | 45.9% (5th) LD rate: 20.1% (18th) | 18.3% (29th) Oppo rate: 27.1% (6th) | 26.6% (4th) Hard rate: 28.9% (23rd) | 26.6% (28th) As you can see above, most of these metrics remain directionally same. Yes, our line drive rate improved to middle of the pack, but our hard hit rate rank didn’t change all that much and our ISO was nearly identical. The reality is the bulk of our improvement is likely due to batted ball regression. The sad reality is we remained the groundball, opposite field heavy team that only hit 20 HRs in the month of June. The Yankees for reference hit 58 HRs this past month. We can’t expect to win this division when we play half our games in a HR heavy ballpark and rank in the bottom in key power indicators. A team wide change in approach is desperately required and Frank Menechino should be fired immediately in hopes of salvaging this season. We can’t afford to wait any longer with injuries and Tony also key factors holding us back. A change at hitting coach is needed and needed now.

  38. This was mentioned in the GT, but if Tony pinch runs Engel for Sheets right away Engel is at 3B on Yoan's single and none of this happens and Sox win game 3-2, at least.

  40. Release McGuire. Easy call. He's terrible. And in retrospect, trading Collins (who may be able to hit) for McGuire was silly.

  41. I was there for the 1959 World Series, so I have seen a lot! But this team, coaches, management and ownership takes the cake! From top to bottom they appear to be disorganized, unwilling to admit mistakes and make the necessary changes! Do they care? If so, do something!!

  42. It's amazing that a team that was suppose to beat the crap out of other teams offensively is left to micro-managing moves to try to salvage games. It wasn't suppose to be this way and here we are where the managing corpse matters to daily game results.

  45. Hope he comes back and hits better because they aren't finding a catcher with a .939 OPS like he posted last season anywhere else. I know Grandal has been brutal this year, but people writing him off because of 50 bad games (where he was almost certainly playing through an injury) when the alternatives are guys we *hope* can be slightly above replacement level doesn't make much sense to me.

  46. I still believe good coaching might salvage some of these dudes and it needs to happen soon. But no, they have to keep fucking around in their supposed window and let TLR drive the clown car completely off the edge into the ravine.
