Once again I’ll leave this here for anyone thinking the change hasn’t mattered…5 points

Engel is on this team for 2 reasons, his baserunning and his defense. He has been atrocious at both. Please dont come back next year4 points

It's nice to know Reese McGuire can have a future in the booth after his mlb career is over.4 points

Has he watched any Whitesox baseball the past year and 1/2? This makes zero sense. No one wants him back, especially not the fans4 points

The Sox are going to determine their own fate. It's been that way all along. If they need help, it's their own damned fault.4 points

These are the games you gotta win if you want to be a playoff team. These are the games we've been losing all year.3 points

The crazy part about the lack of LHH on the team is you have a LH hitting power bat in AA that you refuse to call up and see what he’s got to help this team….call me crazy but if you are hurting that badly at the position maybe it’s a good idea to see what the kid has3 points

He's fine as a platoon option at 1B/DH, depth guy, etc. But him being the main LH run producer is unacceptable. Even Jake Lamb has hit better than him this year against RHP.3 points

He definitely wasn't his usual self until maybe July-ish? His velocity sucked when he first came back. Constantly in the low 90s. He's been much better velocity-wise in his recent starts to where he's hitting mid 90s. But his recent success is partially due to his revamped curveball. I thought Sox Machine did a good job talking about it in their article today: https://soxmachine.com/analysis/lance-lynn-returns-to-old-form-with-a-new-look-curveball/ Two things that I thought were real interesting: he's using the curve heavily to combat lefties' effectiveness against him this year. They've only hit .170 against him since he's deployed the new-look curve. His release point on the curve is distinguishable from his other pitches. It's definitely a lower release point. I wouldn't say that it's in "he's tipping his pitches" territory, but a team like the Astros would probably be able to pick up on the release point difference after they see him a few times. If teams don't pick up on the release point difference, his new curveball would be extremely helpful against teams like the Astros who cover the fastball extremely well. It also gives Lance more of a speed differential between his main pitches, which I think is what he was sorely missing last year. Lance's fastballs-only approach worked well with no sticky stuff enforcement. He got elite spin rates on his 4 seamer with it and it helped with his pinpoint control on his cutter and sinker. Without the sticky stuff, his control was no longer pinpoint and the fastball spin, while really good, was no longer 99 percentile elite. He's now more prone to mistakes on those pitches and fastballs right down the pipe that got popped up last year are now homers. He really had to re-invent his repertoire a bit to get back to being a respectable starter again and it looks like the new curveball has done just that.3 points

That’s the record the Sox need over the final 27 games to win the division. Unlikely? Sure. Impossible? Hell no, especially now that the TLR cloud has lifted. Remaining schedule: 2 @ SEA (1-1) 4 @ OAK (3-1) 2 vs COL (2-0) 1 @ CLE (0-1) 3 @ DET (2-1) 3 vs CLE (2-1) 3 vs DET (2-1) 3 @ MIN (1-2) 3 @ SD (2-1) 3 vs MIN (2-1)2 points

Sad that Andrus is one of the guys I want to see up when the Sox need a HR.2 points

Also playing service time games with someone who will turn 25 next season feels ridiculous to me.2 points

Colas isn’t coming until May 2023. It’s the right decision. Time to let it go.2 points

Idk. He’s clearly not right and should have been ILd 2 weeks ago, but once they committed to not doing that, I don’t really have a problem with them trying him out post paternity leave. But you just gotta do the IL now. It sucks cause we need him and it’s do or die time but he’s not contributing with one hand.2 points

Engel in for Robert. Time to IL Robert. Stop pretending he's ok.2 points

You know what is sad is we are all arguing over whether Robert has been good or not but I would definitely say he has not played to his expectations or what he’s capable of but that also goes for Eloy, Tim, Yoan, and Grandal and here they are only 2 games out of 1st place in this division. It just goes to show you how much better they can be than the rest of this division2 points

Sad thing is if I didn’t know you were talking about Robert I could apply this to about half the normal starting lineup2 points

Years from now we are going to be talking about how this organization and training staff screwed Robert over in 20222 points

Not worried about the future. Right now, he can’t even take a regular swing. Total joke he’s playing.2 points

Just stay in-house and spend for upgrades in the outfield. Go with Romy or Lenyn. Romy has looked good and probably has earned an early look or at least the option to compete in spring training.2 points

He hasn’t been all that useful of a player since 2017. Unless it’s dirt cheap we shouldn’t be looking to invest in him.2 points

Gilbert held us to 4 hits and 1 UER earlier in the season, punching out 4. His stuff looked really damn good that game. He likes to keep the ball in the zone but has only allowed 17 dongs in 155ip. The good news is he's a reverse splits guy...noticeably worse numbers against RHB and has also been considerably worse at home this season. We can get him but it's going to take good, patient ABs.2 points

Another nice start for Lynn and just enough runs. Way to bounce back from yesterdays loss and get the first win of the series against a good Mariners squad. Let’s keep it up!!!2 points

As someone who has probably watched 125 of the 135 games in full, and at least portions of the other 10....there is 100% something difference about this team since Tony left. They have an energy and a spunk that they haven't shown since early 2021. Sure there has been 1 or 2 duds since Tony left that reminded me of the majority of the games played under Tony (corpseball, as I call it)...but Tony leaving was a giant breath of fresh air, and likely a relief to the guys, even though they'll never publicly admit that.2 points

If Cleveland goes 15-14 rest of season, they end with 84 wins. If MN goes 16-13 rest of season, they end with 84 wins. Which means Sox need to go 17-10 or better to get to 85 or more wins. Its doable, but basically means Sox cannot lose more than 1 more in a row rest of season. Of course rattling off an 8-10 game win streak would make it all so much more realistic. May as well start now.... Remember, Sox are 6-9 vs. Cleveland. Which means Guardians only need to win 1 of the remaining 4 to hold the tie breaker. So really, Sox are 3 GB, not 2.2 points

The solution is Vaughn DH/1B in 2023, Sheets in AAA or traded, LH RF signed (Conforto) or if Colas is ready, promotion in May. Still want Abreu back at 1B on a reasonable 1 year plus option deal if he wants to continue playing. No matter what happens, Sheets should not be on the active roster beyond a rash of injuries in 2023, and neither Vaughn or Sheets should be allowed to own, let alone wear, an OF glove as a member of the White Sox.2 points
