  1. Happy Thanksgiving. There is a rumor of signing or close to a signing with a SP.

  2. That's steep. Law thinks Ramos could be a monster, I wouldn't give him away for Kepler. Just sign Conforto for 1 yr deal. Spend some money for once and stop robbing Peter to pay Paul. I'm sick of this s%*#.

  3. Unless the cost is very low, this is just another instance of this front office being stuck in 1996. If you have limited resources, why tf would you spend it on a 1 win upgrade to the only spot where you actually have some depth? I’m not saying you can’t upgrade from what the white Sox have, but if you have three 1.5 WAR guys at a spot, but you literally don’t even have three actual outfielders on your 40 man, and only even have a full starting pitching staff if you assume 150 innings of Davis Martin and perfect pitcher health otherwise, you fucking can’t afford to blow your load on a 2.5 win second baseman with downside. And yeah, you can say that this wouldn’t have to be the only move they made, and wait for the whole offseason but how many times are we going to fall for that?

  4. Dumpster diving for reclamation projects when there are viable free agents is the Sox MO.

  5. Whats your love affair with Gallo? Haven't we had enough of the swing and miss guys? Ok yes can hit 30 but with a .160 avg?? No thanks.

  6. Besides him being a great teammate and hitter, I am going to miss the annual Decline of Abreu threads most of all.

  9. Holy Adam Eaton.giving up anything but garbage for Kepler would be horrible.

  10. I‘ll take Clevinger on a 1/$12M deal as our #5.

  11. Fine, I guess, if the price is basically nothing. Kepler's career OBP is a miserable .317. He's not cheap either, for a guy who can't hit. This just seems lazy; so often, they focus on players that they are familiar with (Cubs, division players) instead of doing real scouting.

  12. As much as I want a full house cleaning, when I'm not disgruntled, I go back to professional gamblers picked the Sox opening day roster to not only win their division but win a playoff series. Journalists agreed. Fans here agreed. The multiple failures aren't solely or even largely his fault. I'm willing to watch what happens this next season. Plus, I'm trying to regain some enthusiasm for the franchise.

  13. Dude blocked me on Twitter and I’ve never even tweeted at him. Must not appreciated me calling out his buddy FootlongComiskeyDog for the attention seeking fraud that he is.

  14. A Colas-Robert-Kepler outfield would be elite defensively if Luis is healthy. My primary concerns with such a trade would be the bat and the cost to acquire. On the latter, I can’t imagine the Twins would make such a deal comfortable for us. And regarding the bat, the dude has been slightly below average every year outside of 2019 & 2020. However, there may be more there as his GB rate skyrocketed last year and perhaps a change of scenery gets his launch angle back to more optimal levels. And the shift rule change should help him more than most players given his hitting profile. I wouldn’t hate acquiring him depending on the price, but definitely concerned it would be a bit painful.

  16. 6 years Robert >>>>>>>>>>>>> 1 year Ohtani.

  17. There is no possible scenario that trading Luis Robert at his lowest value to date makes a single sliver of sense. Add on to that the Sox have 33% of an OF at the moment, and yah…makes even less sense.

  18. I just wanted to give him a fair chance to do a waiver claim before I criticized him for being too lazy to scout any of the guys on waivers. Seriously, the White Sox's depth is awful. There's like 2 positions on their roster where if they claimed a replacement level player with a minor league option, the player would be unlikely to make the big leagues. They're keeping Ruiz with no ability to send him down because they have no bullpen depth. They signed Leury to a big money deal because they aren't creating decent backups on their own. They played two different 1b in the outfield because they didn't have enough outfielders, and both of them were straight up bad. At one point last year Dallas Keuchel was their #2 starter, and it was totally obvious that such a thing was likely to happen coming into the season. They gave away one game because they had roughly 2 available relievers. They were Elvis Andrus and Johnny Cueto away from being roughly a 75 win team. Grab someone. Anyone. Find a player or two who can rotate up and down to AAA so that if someone gets hurt you can put them on the IL and actually have a player available to step in. They don't even need to be good, literally a 0 WAR player could turn into an extra 2 wins on their record if they could pitch the 7th and 8th innings in a 4 run game without giving away the lead or catch the ball in LF as a defensive substitute on a day when someone needs a rest to keep their legs from being hurt. It's somehow completely unbelievable and yet totally expected that they let this roster deadline pass.

  19. Alright boys, probably good to have this debate come to an end. I think we can all agree that Boston shouldn’t be retained due to his on the field record alone.

  24. I’d prefer Gallo to Eloy and or Sheets playing the OF everyday and the other DHing. He’s far from a perfect player but the NY effect is real and if Nimmo, Conforto or even Benintendi are out of the budget, you have to get creative. The Twins aren’t just going to hand Kepler to the Sox so yeah….I’d probably prefer Gallo at like 1/$8M to handing the Twins Ramos or Veras.

  25. everyone knows these accounts are all frauds but ill add the biggest fraud of them all to the chat

  26. Lol I don’t really have a “love affair” with Gallo. Id much prefer Nimmo or even Conforto or Bellinger on short term deals. But when you got a fast foot budget, you can’t expect surf and turf.

  27. Kepler would be solid. He’s a really good defender and a better stick than he showed last year. But why not just sign a comparable FA like Gallo instead and not give up an asset to the Twins.

  28. And this is another reason why I laugh anytime someone wants a player to offer a "home town discount" or questions why players don't show some loyalty.

  29. I thought I was going to miss the gamethread freakouts whenever Colome came in to close a game, but then the 8th inning implosions happened. Soxtalk always finds ways to adapt.

  31. Semien behind a decent OL and WRs who can get open would be fine. Semien behind an OL that gives him little time to throw with nobody being open is going to be a disaster.

  32. As much as Chris Sale has been injured, this is only true from a player standpoint. Boston has a banner from 2018, so I guess they accomplished what they wanted to accomplish. The Sox do not. In terms of a player for player standpoint, on a long term basis, I agree with you.

  33. Hahn will trade the only outfielder on the roster for a couple of relievers. That's the White Sox way.

  34. He's down to 21st percentile in sprint speed. Which definitely doesn't help him defensively.
