  1. What the hell is going on in here?
  2. It’s pretty clear how much Sox missed prime Timmy last year. I hope we get prime Timmy all year…will be such a massive upgrade.
  3. Jason is at his best when he's teaching stuff to boomers.
  4. Poor Jason sharing the booth with Smoltz.
  5. I am all for Sox players carrying their teams in this tournament
  6. 3 points
Literally all I care about is benintendi not batting third.
  7. I retract my earlier Smoltz comment. Benetti explaining the difference between dawg and dog to him was top tier comedy.
  8. I donated to this cause and I’m more than content. f*** Jerry.
  9. Yeah especially since Turner has a ton of experience there. But also we know how TA’s defense at short is…
  10. That Bennett guy hyped this up so much only for it to be that in a bad location. It’s not even really a billboard. Very anti-climactic.
  11. A “Get Well, Liam” sign would have been so much better
  12. March 13, 2000 - Sox slugger Frank Thomas was again featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated. A lengthy story talked about his career, the controversies and his desire to return to the top of the game. The caption stated, “Don’t Question My Desire. Frank Thomas Comes Out Swinging.” Thomas would have a spectacular season losing out on his third A.L. M.V.P. Award to the A’s Jason Giambi, who’d later admit to using steroids in grand jury testimony. Frank’s numbers in 2000 included a .328 batting average, 43 home runs, 143 RBI’s, 112 walks and a slugging percentage of .625. Despite those gaudy figures he didn’t lead the league in any single category that year.
  13. Poles and LB: Hahn and relievers
  14. The 49ers radio guy was on the score last week and completely scared me off McGlinchey lol
  15. Yonder wants you to not look at his stat line from 2019.
  16. Damn Iguchi looks great. I can’t remember is he managing now?

At this point, I’m not even sure there’s anyone worth platooning him with so I think he’s probably safe.

Yeah, no team good at what they do pencils him in any higher than 7th to start. Once he proves himself he gradually gets gets raises higher in the order. I hope they don’t platoon him until he shows he can’t handle lefties, but would understand why they might ease him in there too.

Sox will never do this, but I'd have Moncada lead off vs RHP. He takes pitches and gets on base. Anderson should be batting 6th-7th vs RHP.
  21. TA70mph, man. Safe to say his legs are feeling good.
  22. TA rbi triple to the wall
  23. Lynn got a hefty bribe of Tim Horton's during that wait.
  24. Bratt is going to be a good pitcher but the por kid didn't have a chance. The only way he ever faces a better lineup is if he starts an all star game.
  25. According to overthecap they're at $53m before whatever Nate Davis is getting. I'm kinda hoping we see a Whitehair/Patrick/Rookie OC competition.
  26. WBC is making me appreciate the pitch clock more and more every game.
  27. His shitbag running mate should be over there with him.
  28. Assuming Brown gets $25 million a year, they should still have around $5 million left in space. They can also cut Whitehair's $14 million cap hit too, but that might be after the draft in June.
  29. 100% agree. With Roquan here, you don't get quite the same haul for #1 overall either.
  30. That “billboard” is the size of a large napkin.
  31. With no game today we are instead broadcasting Game 4 of the Senators-Giants 1933 World Series.
  32. Go get Jawaan Taylor, Ryan....
  33. Apparently both the jets and packers have no idea what AR is gonna go lmao
  34. Eloy rifles an RBI single
  35. greg Gabriel and his grumpy sources say the Bears going hard for Dre’Mont Jones

Pretty close to how I have it. The only difference is I wouldn't platoon Colas until he proves he can't hit lefties.
  37. 1 point
Yeah I think Colas hits in the bottom 3rd of the order to start the year. A good Spring Training is nice and all but means close to nothing.
  38. TA7 waiting for the rest of the Team USA offense to show up...
  39. 1 point
Yeah, I do think against RHP, he’s slots in better around 5th or 6th. He’s still a solid hitter against RHP, but the subpar OBP doesn’t work quite that well at the top of the lineup.
  40. Hewlett Packard ? Horse Power ? Highway Patrol ?
  41. I agree with you but we are underestimating the franchise's ability to f*** up. Here's a few ways it can get worse. Players were largely left alone for a couple seasons are suddenly being scrutinized and someone is demanding better production. That could piss off a few players who chaff under the new leadership. They liked having a manager asleep in the dugout. We think guys will play better while relearning to play their "natural" position. Maybe not. Another year older will be great for some, not so great for others. Pitching still matters. Once injured - twice shy or something like that. But more likely, they will find a new, even more spectacular way to be worse.
  42. As a kid in Chicago Public Schools in the 1970's those Straight A / Perfect Attendance forms were my entree into Comiskey Park. As long as you didnt piss off the teacher too much you got a form. You got to pick two games for free just send in the form and a SASE to the Ticket Office. My sister had no interest in baseball so I was good for four games each summer. I would always pick a Thursday night Twinight Double header which would start at 5:30. I would take the Archer bus with two ham sandwiches in a brown paper bag and meet my dad at the ballpark. Simpler times, great memories, esp 1977.
