A LOT of GMs have come into complete disasters. That's usually what opened the job in the first place. None of them have ever managed to do what Chris Getz achieved last year, and a large chunk of it was a complete lack of minor leaguers turning into major leaguers which was literally his his entire job description previously. It can't be that literally every draft pick for a decade was unfixable.4 points

Guys that throw as hard as Thorpe are always at risk for the dreaded TJS. It is what it is.4 points

Chris is a major part of the biggest problem with the previous regime. His job was literally player development, which we did none of. We lacked talent BECAUSE OF CHRIS GETZ3 points

I fail to see what incredible bad luck happened to the 2024 Sox. They were just literally the worst collection of players in baseball history. And funny enough, almost all of that falls on Getz past and current job. Ultimately, it’s JRs fault for putting Getz in this position. It was time for a full on reboot from the ground up and once again, we failed to do that.3 points

Apparently, Drury had the option to test free agency if he wasn’t selected for the White Sox’ Opening Day roster and he exercised that right Sunday.3 points

JR thinks a whole roster of cast-offs will be ultra-entaining for the fans to watch. Pathetic!3 points

I think losing 121 games in 2024 should have been career suicide but here we are2 points

From watching some of the games, Teel is easily the best defensive catcher in the system2 points

Man, Slater looks bad out there. Braden Montgomery (or someone else) may be up by June.2 points

That's the White Sox way! Can't say anyone should be surprised by this news, you could see it coming from a mile away.2 points

Taylor=guaranteed contract prematurely awarded to hedge on Robert trade.2 points

Three kids who were likely a part of the rotation mix this year, our highest ceiling reliever, a solid upper minors SP prospect, and recently selected comp pick all getting TJS and we haven’t reached OD.2 points

I remember someone posting that all teams go through this. No way. This is a record setting pace.2 points

It makes plenty of sense. He likely had an opt out in his deal if he was not added to 40 man by today. Why would the Sox DFA a younger player just to IL Drury for 2 months? A guy that was literally awful last season, is nearly 33 and just had a hand injury. He's really of no use to the Sox right now if he cannot play. I'm sure they'll try to bring him back on an milb deal if he's willing.2 points

To start the year, I agree. Once they have Keel, quero and Montgomery up it will be more interesting at least. I think the pitching will be better overall.2 points

Acquire old veterans and then be shocked they don’t hold up. Not often you see a team struggle to even find 3 guys to play the outfield.2 points
-
It’s ruthless to cut a NRI who got injured and who would have required us to DFA another player to make room on the 40 man roster?2 points

Can I switch my answer to the White Sox surgeon? Seems he might have more of an affect on our future than the vast majority of this roster.2 points

That Boyer quote that many fans think what happens on the field is the most important thing really chaps my ass.2 points

The last rebuild had all of their young guys hurt all of the time, so it was time to switch it up.1 point

Didn’t Drury get hurt in a random collision? Not sure age has anything to do with this.1 point

Thank the people in charge of acquiring talent by any and all means.1 point

Then they go to either whomever was there, if he is still around or tobthe utility player who i think will be Baldwin. It looks like he missed about 10 days so a 15 day IL is reasonable. Thats the job of the utility player to cover.1 point

It sound like you have not watched the Bulls much (since they traded Levine) and if that is the case, I would hope you can give them a watch.🙂1 point

Jerry and Michael's other team, the Chicago Bulls, are one of the most exciting and one of the best teams in the NBA. And that was unexpected after trading their star player. The Reinsdorfs need to extend some of the same kind of success to their baseball franchise.1 point

He has a flexor strain which I don’t believe is UCL related. That’s good, because according to this thread Getz will have his hands full with all the TJ lawsuits he has coming.1 point
-
Only if the surgeon put one of the portals in the wrong place. This would have been an arthroscopic procedure not an open one so they don't cut through tissue. Even if they did an open procedure the UCL is extrarticular and would not be involved in the process. Even with inflammation it would effect the joint capsule but not the ligaments. When they remove the bone spurs they don't change the shape. of the joint. If the surgeons made that significant of an error he would not have been pitching.1 point

That's probably the best Bulls game since 2021. Coby and Matas with 30+. Giddey 2 steals short of a quadruple double.1 point

Bernstein has been a joke ever since Boers retired. It’s not a surprise that he’s been cycled through numerous co-hosts since then.1 point

Genuine curiosity....why hasn't Adisyn Coffey gotten a serious look? I don't know much about him but seems he had a great year in the minors last year and in brief looks in spring. Yet he just doesn't seem to be in talks for the roster. I know he's 25. I'm just curious if anyone has anything else has info. Again, don't know much about him.1 point

“We were doing a drill, and he just collided with a runner as a first baseman. Just a throw that took him up the line and a tough break,” Venable said.1 point

Sometimes (most of the time??) it is so difficult to be a White Sox fan. The team has been playing better; I've been able to convince myself that they will only be bad and not terrible. But driving home and listening to the game, I hear first about TJS for Thorpe (not unexpected; we were all saying this last fall). And then I hear about Drury's thumb injury, completely out of the blue. I had such high hopes for Drury. Two of the few players I was really excited about this year are out for long periods of time. Just God Damn. It is soooo tough to be a White Sox fan.1 point
-
I hope Thorpe comes back throwing with much more velocity than he did before.1 point

Robert. It’s gonna be a while before we see a player with that kind of talent in the lineup again, so I’ll enjoy it while he’s still around, warts and all.1 point

Man I used to love boers and Bernstein but it moved into actively hating him about 10 years ago. The further he got from having some actual knowledge (bulls beat) the less he could offer except to pose as a smart guy sports person by quoting people he thought smart sports people liked. cant believe he let this take him down tho lmao. He and Greg Gabriel should start a podcast in hell1 point

Odds are that dude's kids would have kicked that old man's ass, but yeah, he's all talk.1 point

I’ve been listening to Bernstein for 20 years. I can’t believe what he did last week. It’s why the mute button exists. If you can’t handle shitty assholes on Twitter right now, you need to delete the app. With that being said, 670 lost their two best hosts in last 7 months. They need a major lineup overhaul.1 point
