  1. Sorry, I'm gonna keep going because the team on the field is such a walking embarrassment that Getz deserves to be roasted over a volcanic flame. Acting like he's the first GM to have their hands tied in the history of the sport is laughable. The Rays, Orioles and Guardians are infamously miserly and succeed, in large part due to their farm system. Sox couldn't get anything from theirs - and guess who was in charge of it? I don't want to hear that he had his hands tied blah blah blah, because then his entire hiring process just makes him out to be a conniving little weasel whispering in Jerry's ear that "if only Kenny and Hahn are gone, THEN I can do my job!" He's a walking, talking peter principle. When you look at his career holistically, he can't scout. He can't trade. He can't develop. He can't sign free agents. He can't hire. He's so desperately clinging to the guys from the Crochet deal (which any GM should have nailed) after botching the Cease deal. He's banking on Hahn's last acquisition in Quero. I'll actually give him developing Sosa. Sosa finally looks like a win.

  2. Yes, but the unsuccessful dinglehopper was hired specifically cause there was no time to lose with a classic rebuild, then he immediately was telling people that they could compete in a woeful division like the AL Central. Before you say that he's hired brilliant baseball minds that are buying into his Master Plan, that's basically become the new the money will be spent. Until tangible results happen at 35th and Shields, they're currently on track for the two worst single season record in MLB history. Getz is on track to be the worst GM in history. People aren't sad. They're angry cause a guy with no bona fides got put in charge after he was part of the problem and he's continued to show that he was indeed part of the problem.

  3. Must be nice to have no idea what you’re doing and just blame it on a “rebuild”. This rebuild is in a worst place than when Getz took over.

  4. Sox should get a bonus "pity pool" of at least $5 mil.

  5. If they went te this is fine. Draft in front of them did not go well. Wish they could have traded down. I’d probably have went Williams if I had to stay at 10.

  6. What's funny is I've actually met and hung out with Getz on multiple occasions. He's an entertaining fun guy. In no way do I hate him personally. I hate him as the GM of a baseball team because he simply isn't qualified for the job. Nothing more to it.

  7. 10th pick is why there was absolutely zero fucking reason to divebomb last season. They literally couldn't tank. It was just pure suckage from Getz and JR.

  9. Dalbec at SS is hilarious. I love this team - I mean, i don't watch but I love looking at the absurdity of it all every day. The idea that they're starting Dalbec to get a bit more offensive production since the offense has been so bad is hilarious.... since the end of the 2021 season, he has an OPS under 600 lol

  14. I don't know Cali, but if they did, you and your retrospective crystal ball certainly would claim credit for predicting their ascent back in 2013 when Luis Robert was playing for Ciego de Ávila in the Cuban National Series.

  15. That's more of a guess than a point isn't it ? I mean do they suddenly get healthier ? Do coaches and trainers drill it into the poor dumb players heads to train the right way and injuries stop being so plentiful ? Did Robert forget everything that happened in 2023 ? Is he mentally defeated ? Physically defeated ? A combination platter ? Why is a 12th rounder like Baldwin hitting better than our 5 tool superstar for 1 year ? Why are a bunch of AAAA players just as good as Robert right now ? Maybe picking players who develop enough to make it to the majors is just mostly a crap shoot . Some organizations draft better some develop position players better. Some develop pitchers better. Most well run organizations spend a lot of money, more scouts, more coaches, more data miners, more trainers, more computers , more equipment , more sales people , more public relations people . A well run organizations like the Dodgers says screw it let's just buy the best players a lot more than they develop stars. A well run organization like Tampa Bay crushes it. They draft ,develop, trade compete but ultimately success is short lived. No championships to show for it. Baltimore crushed it with huge amounts of talented position players and they're trending down. Answers are hard to come by unless you're a fan , then you know exactly what's wrong with no real knowledge lots of crystal ball gazing. Really what you just said is that drafting was just fine domestically and internationally if only the development people were better we would have crushed it !

  19. And this is why you argue with most of the board. That is NOT the point everyone is trying to make, but you're either being purposely obtuse, or you have a severe reading comprehension issue.

  20. I mean seriously. To pretend that this was somehow the worst situation in the history of baseball to succeed at is laughable. With all of the crazy stuff that has happened in 125 years of the game, the Sox are not special in having a bad team getting a GM fired. In fact, you might be shocked to learn, that is usually why GM positions are usually open.

  24. So you're explaining in six points how you reached your conclusion of endorsing Dalbec to start at shortstop, and you reached that conclusion because of the other names you listed have been so bad, like Amaya, Palacios, Tauchman, Maton.... I think you're sort of missing the bigger point that Ray, and others have been trying to make. The issue is those are the choices they have to make. These are the players and roster decisions made by Getz, and because of those decisions, the 2025 White Sox are starting a 30 year old at SS with a career -0.7 WAR, who in over 2000 MLB innings, has played 26 innings at the position. Yes, we know this a "rebuild" so you can save that reply for another day. But after setting the major league record for futility last season, most us feel some slightly better options would be appropriate.

  25. Always can depend on WestEddy to justify, in some way, the decisions made. Palacios shouldn't even be in the big leagues, but he's leading off. lol And to clarify, Robert has been terrible but at least his xWOBA is in the 41st percentile - guy should stop worrying about increasing his walks IMO - while Palacios is hitting and performing at his expected line.

  28. Luis Robert is officially, and very firmly, in the Moncada, TA, and Eloy category. All hope is lost.

  29. Just let Robert be Robert. Maybe you want certain guys to work counts and walk as much as possible, but it is not working for Luis. Clear his head and let him use his athletic ability as best he can.

  30. How does a GM / manager go from being insistent on starting a glove first / no bat SS to starting a 6’3” 225 pound 1B/3B by trade that has barely played SS in the minors or majors? Further evidence that the Sox are dysfunctional as f***.

  32. Keep starting Dalbec at shortstop, and DFA Amaya. I'm all for it.

  35. With the infrequency of the victories, one has to savor any win and enjoy it fully....I know that I do. If the Bears won 1 game a week we would be happy, why not also be happy when our Sox do the same??

  36. I am with you here 100% -- Both comments. Also, if anyone complains about Dalbec playing short, I am great with him playing there. It makes me sick that the Sox regularly playing guys batting UNDER .100. We had to watch it last year with Maldonado. I just scream at my TV every time Amaya comes up to the plate battling less than .100.

  38. “Last year, with the Red Sox spiraling in August, Dalbec was thrust into a starting shortstop role for one game. A year prior, he played two innings at the position. In the minor leagues, he spent three total innings at shortstop prior to this season, and he never played the position in college or in the Cape League. When it comes to Dalbec and the shortstop position, he may be the ultimate "break glass in case of emergency." Yet here, in just the 12th game of the season, he's the starting shortstop for the Boston Red Sox. Against the 11-0 Tampa Bay Rays.” “Legend shortstop Bobby Dalbec commits to Arizona baseball" … so there’s that And starting at short. Yes, the same Bobby Dalbec who’s made three appearances (one start) at shortstop in 275 career regular-season games at the big-league level. Chad Tracy, who’s in his second season managing the Worcester Red Sox, better known as the WooSox, is bullish about the development. “I’m excited to see that,” the WooSox skipper said on Wednesday evening. “His last one in Buffalo at short actually looked pretty good. He got five or six chances, a couple backhands, and he looked pretty good, so fingers crossed.” LoL. He did play SS in high school…but hardly at all in college.

  39. Face it, Montgomery and Ramos, both of whom had long standing high prospect status, blew it this month. Both could have been starting in Chicago if they could hit a little bit. They're not even prospects any more.
