Some of you guys are absolutely delusional. Vaughn is here because Getz is a coward and can't tell his boss he wasted 5.85 million. He has no trade value.7 points

Damn both went to Charlotte so now Vaughn can cut into Elko's playing time there .Just great.3 points

Elko is 1 run a week better than Vaughn at 1B. For that reason alone he should be starting all the games there.3 points

The problem is this decision simply came down to cost. When they got in a room and discussed roster moves, Andrew Vaughn's salary played a major role in the discussion. And we're not talking about a player making $25 million a year. Tim Elko has done everything he can do in AAA. He's 26, this team is one of the worst in the league, and the player "blocking" Elko has the worst WAR in the major leagues right now. Literally out of 1,112 players, Andrew Vaughn is No. 1,112 in MLB in 2025. He's had over 2,400 PA's with the White Sox in his career, and has totaled -1.7 WAR during that time. Tim Elko will be a distant memory for MLB in 4-5 years, there is a more than good chance he's a AAAA player, will thrive in Japan. But the Sox have NO REASON not to find out right now...but simply don't want to swallow the $5.8 million price tag of Vaughn, because they don't care about the product they put on the field.2 points

Man he should have been gone weeks ago. A negative WAR player in over 4 full seasons ain't going to suddenly turn into a solid regular magically. Vaughn is a bad athlete with a terrible swing from the right hand side. There's nothing there.1 point
-
Vaughn at this point has a track record of being bad, 1 or 2 decent months isn't going to change a team's mind. It's not like he's Robert who at least has had some high level success here. In the end, I highly doubt Elko is ever a good major leaguer but we already know that AV isn't one and it just makes 0 sense to send Elko back down.1 point

No one is disagreeing that adding young pieces to an organization is a bad thing. Erick Fedde had a 4.6 WAR in 121 innings with the White Sox. He was absolutely a valuable commodity in the marketplace. Again, there has been NO ONE WORSE in the major leagues this season than Andrew Vaughn. In 193 PA's this season, he has put up a -1.7 WAR. Last season, Andrew Vaughn had 619 PA's. So let's just do some easy math. 193 x 3 gives us 579. Fair estimate for PA's over a season. -1.7 WAR x 3 is - 5.1, which would far surpass the lowest WAR in a single season ever (Jerry Royster, 1977, -4.05) That's how bad he's been. So please stop with this illusion of some kind of market for Andrew Vaughn, and that's what went into the decision to keep Andrew Vaughn on the roster.1 point

I totally understand your position. I am sure cost is a factor, but the reality of the situation is that Vaughns contract is a sunk cost. Keep him on the team, option him, DFA him… The money is still being spent. I think this has more to do with the ability for AV to create some semblance of value so that he can be moved within the next two months. If you DFA him, not only are you not getting any return, but you're eating the money for sure. As I said, I would have personally optioned Vaughn, but I also don't think Elko is a major league hitter long term m, so I'm not super concerned about it in the short term. Elko will be back later in the season.1 point

You know it will be "unacceptable to the masses" because it's bat s%*# crazy and illogical. Let me say it for the folks in the back. ANDREW VAUGHN HAS BEEN THE WORST PLAYER IN BASEBALL THIS YEAR. Tim Elko would have more value on the trade market than Andrew Vaughn, for a number of reasons. Your premise makes no sense1 point

Right? Tauchman and Beni are an enormous upgrade on what we've been playing in the OF. Are they part of the future? Of course not. But neither is Josh Palacios or Corey Julks.1 point

Seth Rogen's The Studio on Apple TV is great. The final two episodes of the season are some of the funniest TV I've seen in a long time. The show has tons of dialogue, with constant jokes and one-liners. Quite a few guest stars and cameos. The 30 minute episodes fly by.1 point

Kind of expected this but he'll be back. Gotta get whatever you can out of Vaughn and his $6.5M price tag!1 point

Gee imagine that. Everyone who has opened their mouth after leaving here has pretty much said the same thing. This organization sucks top to bottom.1 point

Well let’s see. The Sox failed Luis Robert, in no specific order, by not meaningfully improving the roster. By not doing real searches to improve coaching or front office staff. By being woefully behind the times in advancements in analytics and preparation. By failing to develop anything to support the main roster. You’ve heard the comments from players that have left this organization, they are a total dumpster fire, they’ve absolutely played a part in failing a lot of players that have come through here.1 point

Pallette turned in a 4 out save for his 9th straight scoreless outing. Hasn't given up a run since April 22. In that stretch: 11.1 IP, 0 ER, 6 H, 3 BB, 18 K and 6/6 on saves. Barons won 4-2.1 point

Thank god. You can squint and see an MLB lineup. How do you line them up? I think Chase 1, Tauchman 2, Robert 3 is what I would lean towards but the way he's been swinging it, Robert should probably hit lower. But if you hit him 3 to just try to give him more at bats, I guess Vargas 4, Beni 5? f*** it, IL Robert for 10 days to give him a mental break.1 point

An injured LaViolette actually makes him more intriguing if they can get him at a super crazy discount.1 point
