ReBrand on the field like a real franchise. The uniform is not the problem.6 points
-
The only rebrand necessary is of the org and it’s reputation, which is more rehabilitation than anything. The current uniforms are perfect, with the only needed tweak being the return of the diamond sock. Add a 1959 or 1917 Sunday alternate and we are golden.5 points

playing Rojas over Mead is so fucking stupid and he leads off next inning, cannot wait for him to be a distant memory3 points

Is Sosa the one who tended to struggle when first getting promoted to a new level in the minors, and then always found a way to adjust? Or am I thinking of someone else?3 points

Here's the best 'rebrand' of all. Stop being a joke of a franchise and start winning. That is all. The rest is just fluff and fooferall.3 points

Stone is going to end his career with the White Sox. I doubt he's changing teams. Maybe after he retires, he shows up in the Cubs booth for a few innings, but not for a job. He's already doing less games as the season goes along. Schriffen is a cheerleader who tries way too hard to be excited over what has been a horrific team during his time here. Just be honest - don't try to sell us on things that aren't happening. I don't need to hear how great the clubhouse is or how hard everyone is working when the team is likely to lose 100 games for 3 seasons in a row. I also suspect that he'll sound better with an improved team to call, but he needs to relax and just call the game. No screaming and yelling, no exaggerating of what's happening, etc.3 points

when Ishbia takes over we need to rebrand and use uniforms paying homage to the film Ishtar (1987)3 points

Very sad to hear this. I always enjoyed reading Alex’s posts and getting to interact with him back in the early days of Soxtalk. He always brought great insight and was a great guy. Rest in peace.3 points

Didn't see this posted anywhere, but very possible I missed it. Listened to this yesterday and while nothing was earth shattering, found certain elements to be interesting. Two biggest takeaways: - Rick telling Jerry after 2022 and then again in 2023 that he basically had to fire him, he didn't deserve another shot at a rebuild. - How involved Jerry still is and the process of Rick having to provide updates each step of the way. Specifically with the Quintana deal to the Cubs, how Jerry really wanted him to go to the Brewers instead of the Cubs, because of the optics involved. Which speaks to the personality of the GM and how important it is to have a spine and not be a "yes man" You obviously have to take Rick on his word with this stuff, and everyone may have a different stomach for that, but none the less, found the conversation interesting.2 points

Swap Rojas out for Meidroth once he’s healthy and I love those 9 guys as a lineup. (disclaimer: I’m using the word “love” loosely. You know, as much as you can love a lineup for the second worst team in baseball)2 points

I look forward to seeing if Shane Smith hits Eugenio Suarez for a third time.2 points

He could say lots of things. He's said stuff like he didnt know if anyone would want him the way he was playing. And this is the only place Ive ever known. Seems pretty humble and genuine. It's not unusual to say something like we'll see what happens I know theyre trying to move me. We can't assume hes just saying what he think sounds right. He's not a politician.2 points

White Sox are now on the order of the Bulls and Cubs in terms of brand equity, given their logo's extensive presence in the hip hop community. It's a classic brand you don't touch.2 points

The Rate doesn't get much love from the media but the lower bowl is great.2 points

Also feels like the X would have a downward arrow for Guaranteed Rate (three years of 100+ losses).2 points

maybe a minor refresh would be nice -Pick up some of the '59 unis, -the large number on the sleeves -maybe add red as a tertiary color -Kill the Batterman logo forever. -have actual White socks -Have the 1917 as alternates2 points

No. One of the few good off the field moves during the Reinsdorf era was to bring back the iconic "Old English" Sox logo and the current black pinstripes uniforms at the end of 1990. I see no reason to dispose of it when Ishbia takes over - none whatsoever. When I was growing up, the Sox went through a series of bad, sometimes laughable uniforms. First was those awful "old timey" uniforms of the Veeck era that made the Sox look like a joke team to me. Then we moved on to the Astros-wannabe ultra tacky uniforms of the early 80s that Jerry is still in love with. Then we ditched those and went to a super generic looking uniforms with an "Einhorn E" logo on the cap in the late 80s. The Sox kept bouncing from bad unis to bad unis every 5 years or so and that led to a lack of brand identity. Meanwhile, the Yankees, Dodgers, Cardinals, Cubs, Tigers, and many other teams had the same classic uniforms and logos year after year. Going back to the Old English Sox logo with black pinstripes was a total home run. And no, we shouldn't go back to the red pinstripes uniforms even if some Boomer fans still have fond memories of the Dick Allen era. Our team is not the "Red" Sox.2 points

The current brand is highly marketable outside of baseball, it would be a mistake to change it. Just put out a damn winner that would be change enough that would signify the end of the Reinsdorf era.2 points

The Sox have the Pope and a President rocking their brand, leave it as is.2 points

I heard a clip on 670 where he got emotional after being asked about the trade deadline. The changing of teams has to be weighing on him. I’m pulling for Houser the rest of the way!2 points

People are so giddy about a rebrand, thinking it'd be a throw back to a past uniform. If there's a rebrand, it's going to be a modern, minimalist logo (look at the NBA losing all flavor). Keep the classic looking that could skyrocket in popularity (moreso than it already has) by fielding a good team.2 points

Keep the uniform as is, MLB's Friday Night uni's are cool.2 points

Sox are ultimately going to tank their own trade values if these guys can't perform elsewhere. Everyone should be rooting for them.2 points

Id have no problem with a little dashes of red shadowing letters and numbers on the uniform like late 50s and 60s teams. Name the player below.2 points

I really wish good things for Houser the rest of the way (except in the Sox series). He seems like him and his wife have had a rough year with the newborn and the flux of changing teams, and all. Some Twitter peeps are LTFAO, and I'm just SMH. I hope he pulls it together and draws a good contract this winter.2 points

He's really not though. It's completely obvious that baseball isn't his first language. He has no feel for the game, and for the little things that happen with in it. He brings nothing extra to the game, and really doesn't seem have the ability to make a partner better either. Granted he is better when someone like Beckham or Pleasac is in the booth with him (instead of Steve Stone, but It is really telling when another dude with no PBP MLB experience steps into the booth and sounds way better in Connor McKnight. I get it is hard to fall in a pile of s%*# and come out smelling like roses, so it isn't easy to make the Sox sound good right now, but that shouldn't be what his job is. His job is mostly to tell us what happening. The color guy should be the one adding to that story. The Sox main booth is currently one of the worst in baseball/2 points

Imagine Ishbia takes more control next season and the Sox sign Tucker to send a message to the league. That would be glorious. Especially as a f*** you to the Cubs.1 point

Houser's Rays debut: 5.2IP, 5ER (season high), 11H (ties career high), 1 BB, 3K. I assume some of it is rust from skipping a turn, but apparently TB fans are having Manzardo for Civale flashbacks already...same division and everything. Also ironic given Civale's recent performance here.1 point

TLR told me one time he had a theory that he wanted to try out where three pitchers would throw in a game, regardless of the situation. He'd start the year with 12 pitchers. The first three would go opening day, then the next three the following day and so forth. Pitchers wouldn't be ranked from best to worst 1-12, but based on which hand they throw with, what they throw etc. He never did try this but he told me he was thinking about it. if a game went extra innings the fourth pitcher would be used. Basically pitchers would go three innings barring injury.1 point
