The entire fortune of the organization just changed drastically. The 2025 Sox just had one of the best possible years for a rebuilding team. They found a manager with exciting potential, they identified the foundation of an exciting core of guys, and they landed the first overall pick, in a draft with two elite talents at the top in the best draft class in several years. Rebuilds mean nothing if ownership doesn’t spend the money to augment the roster, but the is rebuild is super promising.

You could have set the example by not responding.

While I can only assuming you're mostly joking (haven't been following closely enough this offseason to know), if you're going to sign Bellinger (or really any player of note), you may as well hold Robert and hope he's healthy and good. It's just money at this point and I'd be surprised if Sox got any notable prospects for him right now. But he's as high an upside $20M flyer as you could find in the league, so I'm holding (yet again).

The stuff I've read is that the system isn't going to be overused lest a team run themselves out of appeals early in the game. If a catcher could keep the calls that are too near the zone to safely dispute, that still has value.

Underspending? In the draft? I don’t think that penalty exists for the draft. If you’re talking about revenue sharing receivers, if they underspend, the penalty is that they lose their share of revenue sharing. There are no draft picks involved.

Elko coming back was such a no brainer that was going to happen.

Then why pick up the option? Either they trade him for some prospect or they hold until the deadline. I think a worst case scenario is us not eating any money and getting a post hype prospect like Acuna in return. I don’t think that will happen, but would be very disappointing.

I 've been hoping that Getz would improve the team this off season. It certainly doesn't look like that is going to happen. If anything I'm expecting Robert Jr to be moved for next to nothing. The Robert Jr move will simply be a salary dump. I hope I'm wrong.

We really need some White Sox action. Hopefully things are just slow because Getz & Boras are working out the final details for Bellinger and then the rest of the dominoes will start falling.

Maybe instead of including money, JR could send some international bonus pool cash their way. It’s one of his favorites.

With the #1 pick, the Sox also get the largest amount of bonus pool money. They are NOT going to skip over the person they like best because of signing bonus money.

The White Sox could win 76 or 77 games and it won’t change their draft position in 2027. Why not try to be decent. A couple of crazy things happen, and you have a fun summer.

Getz should get drunk tonight and sign an outfielder.

Teel can hit and can play outfield. He's obviously the most valuable. To me Quero passed the eye test at catcher; he's 22. Lots of potential And I still like Lee as a backup. Don't trade any, unless it's for a premium (and a big premium for Teel).

Absolutely have to keep both. The catcher position is prone to injuries, they can’t afford to trade one of these catchers, only to see the other one get hurt.
