  1. Does he know there’s no parking lot in the new stadium plans?
  2. If you ain't jerkin then you ain't workin.
  3. Lol come on… They get off on being upset. These are the same people who said it was a fireable offense to trade Luis Rodriguez for Corey Julks.
  4. Reese cums around to score on a Meidroth double.
  5. Sox Fans: "Well, it sucks to lose Teel for a bit, but at least we have Quero and Le----" Getz: "GET REESE McGUIRE's agent on the phone, NOW!"
  6. And I am always entertained by your pseudo-methamphedamine posts.
  7. Outside of the hilarious jokes I don't really understand why anyone would be upset by this. Teel and Quero are the main guys. It'll be alright.
  8. There is stupid. And then there is White Sox stupid. Seriously, WTF?
  9. Stop putting CST. Remember when changed clocks a couple weeks ago? We’re on Daylight time until November. Just put CT all the time, and you won’t be wrong. Thank you.
  10. You don't have the ability to project vision do you
  11. I do not understand their hatred for Lee.
  12. There's alot of people freaking out out about Quero maybe being traded but I don't see how that's possible unless they are getting a good cost controlled player back or an obvious upgrade somwhere.
  13. I love this move just for the comments on this thread.
  14. Exactly. I couldn't care less about passing the Cubs. As a Sox fan that's been a fan since childhood and will be one for life, I just want a winning baseball team, which will draw fans in and of itself. A new ballpark, done the RIGHT way, will help draw in even more people that aren't currently fans of the team. I'm all for this fanbase to grow and there is plenty of opportunity for that. Who cares if the Cubs are more popular. This isn't a popularity contest, there is plenty to go around for both teams. Ishbia just needs to go about things the right way to really capitalize on opportunities, and there are ways I'm sure to do that and make fans happy at the same time, unlike Jerry who for some reason it always feels like his decision making ends up going against the fans' interest. Ya know, the people that ultimately bring in the dollars, aside from the investors.
  15. The Sox don't even need to "pass" the Cubs. Just building the fanbase past the leagues worst revenue generation machine has to happen. Building new fans has to happen. Getting people who show up for something other than playoff seasons has to happen. A new park in an active neighborhood with things to do will help immensely.
  16. The process is super strict — no shoes, no hats, knees exposed, back against the wall — and to account for potential shrinkage
  17. Lee is still listed as the starter as of now
  18. Next, they're going to add Teel's reputation for walking around clubhouse buck naked.
  19. Trading any young prospect for AAA fodder like Julks is always a bad move. Julks is a guy you sign to a minor league contract or claim off waivers for free, not give up any level of talent for. It was a bad trade. Almost as bad as Fajardo for Booser.
  20. Ok sorry i'm done. Had to get it out of the system https://www.chsn.com/game/3/22-at-12pm-seattle-mariners-vs-chicago-white-sox-1768286691
  21. Jerry has long had an antagonistic relationship with the fans other than the people in the luxury suites. He runs the team in a very insular way. He's more interested in proving his critics (the fans, the media) wrong than what is in the fans' interest. Needless to say, buying the Sox for somewhere close to $2B is a huge investment for Ishbia and in all likelihood it's a team that he'll own for decades. Surely he knows what isn't working with the franchise both on and off the field. If he thought the current ballpark situation was "just fine", he wouldn't be buying up a huge tract of land next to the 78.
  22. A week ago the reason we couldn't release Benny was because of the extra million dollars it would take to replace him on the roster... and then we do this.
  23. He’s out of options so something has to be done with him. I’m sure they were just kind of taking time through spring to see where they were at. Once Teel got hurt and was going to miss some time, it then seems like they’ll have shifted to Edgar catching most of the time now. Lee is probably good enough that you can get something through a trade for him so do that and then McGuire helps out until Teel is ready then figure out what to do with him when Teel is back. If that’s the thinking then I understand it.
  24. Unless the vision is a dystopian environmentally-compromised wasteland snarled with bad traffic and dirt clogs littering the roads.
  25. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER
  26. Do you at least hope that the Sox have a winning record this year or will you be rooting for Getz and Jerry to fail ?
  27. Reality check: The "78" is not located in an "active neighborhood," if by active you mean similar to Wrigleyville, Boystown. There is nothing around the 78 unless you want a pastrami sandwich. Sounds like you aren't familiar with the area. Most Sox home games are night games and end quite late. A majority of the fan base are families located in the SW suburbs, a good distance from the loop. If you want to hang with the singles crowd late night, Wrigley is where to go.
  28. And it was deserved. Lots of changes were made since he left, and $1.2M keeps a lot of people happy. Lee has to be the odd man out. Haven't there been rumors the Sox staff doesn't like throwing to him?
  29. He absolutely ripped the org on the way out. I am shocked McGuire is back. Also, he's not great and why?
  30. Does this mean Lee is gone? Has to right?
  31. I think people take spring training stats way too seriously both bad and good. But obviously would prefer to have them good. He will probably be what he has always been.
  32. No one does with the value of defense in the modern era.
  33. Caray was never a serious threat to get the club.
  34. And it is only a matter of time before Ishbia does the same thing.
  35. If we're talking about the last time the Sox talked about a new stadium, I don't remember many people feeling all that warm and fuzzy about New Comiskey going up. To begin with, Jerry and Eddie immediately soured the whole new ballpark situation with their threat to move the team to what is now Tropicana Field and ended up pissing everyone off for extorting taxpayer money for their new park. Then, they built (at the city's insistence) at the same site that they've had problems with for decades. The Robert Taylor Homes were still around back then and the area wasn't that great at that time. There was even an incident where workers found a bullet hole in one of the new upper deck seats being installed at the new park, which wasn't great for PR. Finally, while people looked forward to moving to a modern, baseball-only facility, a lot of people (rightfully) groaned when they saw how high and steep that 29-row upper deck was sitting above 3 levels of premium seating. If we're talking about being excited about new ownership, yeah Sox fans were excited in 1980......about Ed Debartolo buying the team. Then the AL shot that down and we ended up with Jerry and Eddie as the fallback option. And people might not remember, but Jerry was the more likeable of those two. Yes, fans were eager to see an end to the austerity this franchise had under Veeck, but it didn't take JR and EE long to rub fans the wrong way.
  36. No need to rush him but nice to hear the prognosis is good
  37. That was really cool. Getting to see live ABs like this is wild.
  38. Yeah I thought the owner of the 78 wanted two stadiums there? I don't think this particularly kills the Sox building there. I'm sure a lot of other things will, though.
  39. The developer has said in the past there's room for both stadiums at the 78. https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/possible-future-home-of-white-sox-could-have-a-second-stadium-developer-says/3578694/
