  1. I loved TA. Dude made himself into an all-star SS after primarily growing up as a PG. The off of the field stuff was sad, but his legs and the perpetual injuries just killed his biggest asset. The Field of Dreams game is one of my all time baseball moments. Still remember exactly where I was.
  2. I got the marketing email for Tim Anderson retirement day and was kinda like...almost anti-. Kinda curious how you all feel. Prior to the year maybe a game which reminded us of a team were we used to know some of the players names was exciting. There was a time where Tim Anderson was remarkable to me. I'd often point out that the sox player development strategy in 2010-2022 was like mr. glass in unbreakable where you just keep blowing up trains and seeing who can survive. Tim was drafted in a pretty terrible draft as a longshot, had a bad hitting profile but extraordinary hands. Was often times horrible at short and then sometimes brilliant. The kind of player who never puts it together for us and then he probably hit his 99th percentile outcome. And then it came screeching to a halt. But he was also the poster child of a truly miserable era for me. 2022 I went to many games amazed at how the park was trying to will that team out of its lethargy and they just couldn't do it. They were all rich, lazy and injured. When TA did TA stuff and tried to start a fight with Jose Ramirez and got knocked out cold in one punch and never could get up...I mean was there ever a better metaphor for that white sox group? This team seems to be the opposite. They were not crowned early, they were not paid early. Many looked down and dusted, and they've kept coming back. TA was the one guy in all of that group that rose to heights not dreamed of. Him and Abreu definitely deserve celebration from that era...but I just don't really want to remember that era at all right now.
  3. Here you go: https://www.futuresox.net/2026/08/10/chicago-white-sox-2026-mid-season-top/
  4. Man some of you guys are just no fun at all. TA was incredible for 4 years here and has one of the greatest moments in franchise history. If I still lived in Chicago I'd 100% be at that celebration game.
  5. Not without permission from Sox legend Brenton Doyle
  6. Seems like i'm in the minority here but I love it. Watching him hit the walk off in Iowa will be an all time memory I take to the grave. Fall off aside, there's a reason why he got a standing ovation when he came back to Chicago and YoYo was booed. There are few I like from that era but TA is one of them. F the haters!

It's August 10th with 45 games left to play, and you've already seen more White Sox offense this year than the entirety of the 2024 season: 2024 (162 games): 507 runs scored 133 HRs 395 walks 2026 (117 games): 557 runs scored 152 HRs 401 walks Meanwhile, the 2026 Sox would have to allow 6.5+ runs/game for the rest of the season to match the 813 total they allowed in 2024.
  8. Oh yea @Falstaff I got high hopes for Vasil. I think he can be a solid 3rd starter maybe. If nothing else he's a good addition into the mix next year.
  9. I dont mind this at all. I was a big fan of TA and hate how his time ended. Gasp, a professional athlete, is not a role model. While I do not agree with his personal decisions and by no means respect what he did to his wife and family, I wonder how many of us would be ok with having our dirty laundry being aired with the entire world. Many of the people trashing him, have the same or a worse moral compass. To each their own. I will be in NY for work, if not I'd go to the game.
  10. Will his side pieces be on the stage?
  11. I hope when Ishbia or whoever builds the new ballpark that they have a dedicated area that tells the story of the franchise, and that it's done well and not half-assed.

On that note, even the sleepiest, most banged up, swinging at everything, getaway day 2026 lineup is still more likely to win a game than the '24 team was. Literally. This year's win% in games where they score 2 or fewer (25.7%, 2nd in MLB) is higher than their season win% in 2024 (25.3%). More: In '24, they scored 2 or fewer in 73 games (most in MLB) and went 4-69 in those games. On the other side of the ball, they allowed 5+ runs 83 times and were 5-78 in those games. That's a more than 50% chance of allowing 5+ and a 94% (!!!) chance of losing when they did. The lowest win% in such games since at least 2011. Relatedly, they scored 5+ runs just 41 times (~25% of the time) in 2024. Comfortably last in the league, the next lowest team was the Rays at 53. This year, they've already scored 5+ runs 58 times in 117 games (~50% of the time), T-4th with the Braves.
  13. Yea, his other moves turned out so good that decent waiver wire fliers had to be cut loose from the 40 man of a first place team in August, the horror.
  14. Taylor has been impressive in the pen. I agree with you on Taylor and McDougal both get a crack at a SP role.in 2027 There was talk of Mike Vasil possibly starting before he went down with TJ. The timeline on Mike might put him back in the pen 2027 mid-season, who knows on the rehab.
  15. Just like nature intended
  16. Anderson had a great series against the Athletics in 2020 playoffs leading off but no one got the job done driving him in. TA went 9-14 that series.
  17. Seems weird to have a retirement game so soon. As others have said, maybe honor him in a few years. For sure, TA was something special, for a short period of time. His walk-off HR in the Field of Dreams game will always be one of the best White Sox highlights. The injuries, to go along with the off field drama, killed a promising career. Starting a fight and promptly getting KO'd didn't help matters.
  18. Yeah, way too early for something like this. He just turned 33. He was an All-Star for the Sox in 2022. If things went as everyone expected, he'd still be playing for the Sox. He was a teammate of Davis Martin. Him having a "retirement night" in 2026 is basically celebrating the failure that was the last rebuild. Way too soon.
  19. Sox fans stopped caring about him when he couldn’t hit anymore and had an increasing amount of defensive lapses. The baby mama on the side didn’t help, considering she was posting pictures of him on social media as if he didn’t even care what his wife would think. Getting knocked out like a clown by Jose Ramirez was probably the last straw.
  20. The definition of "too soon." A central theme of this season has been exorcising the demons of the post-2021 implosion. Now we dedicate a night to that team's posterchild? Not to mention celebrating the "retirement" of somebody who's still playing age is odd, basically a celebration that he's officially completed his tragic flameout. That said, I'm all for celebrating TA as a player when the time is right. Really like him a lot.
  21. Basically I think the white Sox should operate as if time as a franchise went 1894-2012 2025-present
  22. Great work as usual from the FS team. It is brutal how little contribution the international market is giving their system. Four prospects on this list and they are all in the bottom half (#15, #19, #29 and #30). It would be hard to find another system with that poor of return on investment. The silver lining is Bonemer was a draft steal and they have several prospects that are going to help the big league club this season. The Sox desperately need this 2026 draft class to be special for depth purposes.
  23. Quero had a good game yesterday and showed a lot of plate discipline......being selective usually leads to hitting that ball hard. I would still bring up Haase and send Romo down.
  24. Now something negative - Chsn freezes during commercial breaks like twice a game and I have to exit and restart. Drives me nuts
  25. I was camping this weekend but on Friday night got the score and got a little nervous we’d be like the 03 royals, who started hot out of nowhere and then faded in August to 3rd place to the Sox and twins. The sad part (for them) was how it turned out to be a flash in the pan season for the surprise players like angel berroa. But then the we won the next two games like we always do. I kinda hate the “we can play like s%*# and the other team has to play well!” Stuff. 25-19 isn’t like hard for a team to do. Team just has to keep finding pitching and hit like they can. They fight like hell, and no “crushing” or “humiliating” defeat ever sets them. Great, great team to watch
  26. It’s too bad his motivation is outdone by his health. I’m good with Grichuk, he has been healthy and been mashing lefties
  27. For the record, I don't think the off the field stuff affected the on the field stuff for TA, outside the the brutal murder of his best friend. It was leg injury after leg injury, a couple of them pretty major, that sapped his explosiveness. It's honestly not unusual for guys of his skill set and build either. When the legs go, they are done
  28. My pitchfork is for Ron, for mushing my streak
  29. I could not give any less of a s%*# about what TA did in his personal life, or what any athlete does for that matter, unless it's an actual crime like domestic violence. If the consequences of his infidelity contributed to his decline as a player, that's his problem for being an idiot.
  30. **that became public The first openly polyamorous athlete is gonna disgust so many older fans but is gonna get such a pass from younger ones.
  31. I'd say: Taylor (100%): They want him starting. He's flashed some decent changeups and shown some ability to vary his breaking ball. Hagen Smith (50%): I'd imagine it depends on how this experiment goes. I don't know how his command improves out of the pen but if nothing else at least he knows he's gotta get through 1 or 2 innings, not 5 or 6, could help him. McDougal: 100%): I think they want him as a SP only. The other guys in contention for a spot would be Noah, Sandlin and Shane Smith I guess? Burke, Castillo, Martin, Taylor, Shane Smith should be penciled in IMO. Who knows what FA will look like. Noah to me is a dead end right now. I can see him spending the entire next season in AAA assuming it happens. Grab a year back on his clock and figure out a delivery that he can repeat under pressure.
  32. I like TA. He played hard on a team where few did. Somewhat surprised, but glad to celebrate a Sox All Star position player of which there have been very few in my lifetime.
  33. I think next stadium will be a good time to coordinate a bit better. They have a lot of statues, they are awesome (i mean that). They have the decals on the walls - they seem half-assed. I don't want a yankees museum but I would like it be a bigger deal to have your jersey retired
  34. He had a good 4-yr stretch in which he played 68% of the games. It’s completely bizarre they are doing anything for him.
  35. No, but as an aside, I wish the Sox created a team "Hall of Fame" like many other teams have that honor impactful players who don't rise to the level of having their number retired. There are lots of players that could be inducted - AJ, Dick Allen, Ventura, Kittle, Black Jack......I could go on and on. I was at Busch Stadium and they do a great job of commemorating such people who don't rise the the level of retired number status.
  36. Again - my main thing is just I don't really want to remember or honor the decade preceding this year. It's not really TAs fault, but they are all wrapped together as a team that led to the dark ages. Worst of all they were all just poseurs. Hahn was a poseur GM, capable of reading the same things we were and saying that he was doing the same things as the smart GMs, but not actually being as smart or talented. That's why he had so many leaks, he needed amateurs to flatter him that his decision making was interesting when it wasn't. We had to believe this GM doing the same moves as the successful franchises would be successful. He wasn't though, he was just a poseur. So many of the players, we believed because they were highly ranked and looked the part would dominate. They did too, but they didn't put in the work of those real baseball players. They fell off. That's the Jose ramirez metaphor. They go up against a real baseball player even in non baseball and they crumble. Their Instagrams were full of them lifting rocks to get ripped but not like, for baseball activities. When it failed it all was so obvious they were a potemkin village of a baseball franchise. Now we have a team that, even if they don't make the playoffs, certainly feels like an mlb baseball team playing mlb baseball like the rest. I don't want a reminder of where we came from. No bringing ex girlfriends on the friend trip.
  37. I think it's weird that people blame the baby mama stuff. He was never the same after he got that hand injury in late 2022
  38. The Ant, Doyle/Peters, Braden/Grichuk OF we've stumbled into is decent enough and versatile. In hindsight we wasted 4 million or so on Hays but overall you give Getz credit for figuring out how to get a solid OF out of spare parts even if there's only one long term guy there on paper in Braden.
  39. This seems silly. Everyone from that crew i feel had no passion, and just didn't care. I don't understand why we are celebrating them in any way.
  40. Can’t stand it and can’t stand him… but almost everyone deserves an infinite chance for a clean slate.
  41. He had one of the most historic falloffs of all time and seems pretty sensitive. Maybe they are just trying to make him feel better.
  42. https://www.soxon35th.com/white-sox-announce-new-details-for-tuesdays-pope-hat-giveaway/
  43. Much needed day off tomorrow after a ton of BP time because of the short innings from Schultz and the rain today. I'll take 2 of 3 from Cleveland under trying circumstances. They stepped up.
  44. Have had some tough opponents/starters since the ASB: @TOR, @TEX, HOU, NYY, @TBR, @BOS, CLE. Finished 11-11. I take that every day.
  45. My wife told me 3.5 is actually huge. So I'm feeling pretty good about this division lead.
  46. Castillo better start pitching his ass off
