  1. There's a certain irony to using "don't trust Coors production" against Doyle...and then citing Adell's stats immediately after they've been inflated by playing there. Adell went 6-14 at Coors and is otherwise 10-48 (.208 average) as a Guardian. Go back a tick further and he was hitting .167 before getting to play another one of the worst teams in baseball where he got 3 hits against a 7 ERA LHP in SF. That one game + a Coors series accounts for 9 of his 16 hits (and 2 of his 4 HR) for Cleveland. He's 7-42 since the deadline when not playing the NL's bottom 2 clubs. He doesn't play CF. He would be worse than Braden on defense (and prior to his Coors trip, offense too). He's a worse platoon corner bat than Grichuk. I would have been content to keep Adams and Pereira personally, but of all the reasons to dislike the Doyle trade, not getting Adell instead is not one that makes sense to me.
  2. Bad expectations is a crazy statement. If we weren't to expect anything, why did they trade for them in the first place?
  3. That’s honestly the thing that puts me off Schriff so much. It like he’s reading press copy from Brooks Boyer for like 75% of the broadcast it feels so much more disingenuous coming from him than it ever did with Hawk, because at least with Hawk you knew he’d genuinely get in a fist fight if AJ Pierzynski asked him to. Schriffen is just some guy.
  4. A 2nd grader can create Kolson Montgomery’s scouting report. How has he made no adjustment? The whole league knows Kolson can only square up pitches in the bottom third of the zone. Don’t dip your back shoulder every swing and drive a high and away fastball to Left one time!!!
  5. Should be two every inning. Umps are fucking terrible.
  6. This is the Colson that basically got benched in the minors
  7. Getz hasn’t exactly done anything to help him.
  8. Why didn't the White Sox trade for each guy who has a hot streak post deadline, but only while that hot streak is happening? Are they stupid?
  9. I have been just trying to enjoy this improbable season, but I am getting a little anxious to step a boot on the divisions neck.
  10. This is an important series. If the Guardians go on a big run, which isn't impossible given they have the easiest remaining schedule, Texas is the biggest competition for the final wild card spot.
  11. Like I said in the other thread, he should've traded for every rental on a heater but only when they are on a heater.
  12. Also, who gives a crap if you think he sucks and is on a run. He has single handedly won them a few games already. Isn’t that what you want with a deadline move?
  13. Maybe Getz is starting to realize his entire trade deadline was a bust?
  14. Next dog day giveaway: a Richard’s rubber arm chew toy.
  15. Getz’s disastrous trade deadline continues.
  16. Half the lineup is bad right now. Maybe give Grichuk some more at bats?
  17. Bases loaded 2 outs and you're down 3, you 100% challenge. I honestly wouldn't ever be mad at someone challenging a borderline pitch in that situation.
  18. You realize pitching isn’t always about velocity? The guy has been good pretty much his entire pro career with that same fastball he has now.
  19. About the only smart thing he did at the deadline
  20. Tristan is one of the hotter bats. Hit him leadoff since Ant has been struggling too. Basically black hole status the past week
  21. Basically gave up 2 homers and a hit to Romo first time around. That's bad.
  22. Posts of Peters’ demise have been greatly exaggerated.
  23. Dominguez for Castillo was the trade. Seattle had been trying to dump Castillo for months. What is Getz trading for pitchers with 5+ERAs and sub .600 OPS for anyway? Getz really needs an experienced assistant to deal with these GMs; he's consistently overpaying for these waiver-wire talents that the other GMs are overtly trying to dump
  24. 32 games left to decide whether this will go down as one of the most memorable seasons, or a “fun team but….” Afterthought in twenty years. the rides been fun but the stakes have ratcheted quite a bit.
  25. As much as I hated Marriotti, it used to make me cringe when Hawk would start going off on one of his "hiney bird" rants against him during a broadcast. I mean, he wasn't wrong, but still it wasn't exactly Hawk's finest moments on the air. Joe West is different because his ineptness and huge ego was actually affecting the game. But, Hawk was Hawk, he was a broadcasting icon. Schriffen came in as a nobody who didn't even know how to pronounce "Veeck" with guns blazing against the local media.
  26. Why defend it? I don't want a broadcaster whose skin is so thin he can't even take radio hosts rightfully criticizing him. Whether or not the radio hosts are good or bad is hardly the point. Be better, do your job, maybe get some thicker skin. Or get the hell out of town.
  27. In John's defense, nobody does give a s%*# about the "talent" on 670 the Score.
  28. There is literally nothing on the positive side for Schiffren except for enunciating words. He's not a baseball guy and doesn't really know the game He's not a Sox guy and doesn't really know the organization He's not a particularly gifted or dynamic broadcaster So why retain him? What would be the point? Even though he is improving, improving from an F to a D+ doesn't mean you should have the job I would rather have Connor McKnight or someone who at least has been inside the org and is one of us than this guy.
  29. little bit pedantic. you know who the last sox announcer was, right? that guy talked about literally everything except the baseball game. yet, people think he's the best announcer in the world.
  30. He is working the 6am-10am. Not sure how much work, prep for the next show goes into after the show and how long they stay though.
  31. He did say that. Perhaps he got sick of them already in less than a month. 🤣
  32. Agree. Was definitely making fun of AI, not you. And here’s to hoping Rocker allows just zero strikeouts tonight.
  33. Just win series and split any 4 gamers and you will be just fine
  34. Don’t forget being upset they didn’t hire anyone with a Score background
  35. They just fired Mully and replaced him with Jarrett Payton. Talk about boring, Payton and Haugh seriously?
  36. Hawk called into 670 to rip into Boers and Bernstein. Classic. I miss this type of stuff.
  37. https://www.espn.com/mlb/attendance/_/sort/homeTotal Already around 50,000 ahead of last year's final attendance (27th) with another 16-17 home games remaining.... Right there with the Guardians.
  38. My concern is that you recently got rid of Jacob Gonzalez and Boston Smith which were 2 LHH power bats when Benintendi and perhaps Murakami may not be a part of this team after next year. I suppose Teel can replace the Benintendi power if he stays healthy. With Bonemer and Cholowsky both RH the Sox are fast becoming a RH power team . It may not matter if both become very good however I like Getz's original instincts that LH power is crucial to your lineup. Mune is very crucial to the White Sox continuing to give the majority of Starting pitchers fits with his power and OBP.
  39. Jake Burger seems to hit us very well. Kinda like Luiis Robert.
  40. The White Sox were shut down by Rocker last time. They get to him tonight.
  41. They’re too busy striking out and hitting the ball in the air… and I don’t mind it one bit. Really hard to b**** about an offense that is first in runs and third in homers, but… Welcome to Soxtalk!
  42. If you put the ball in play it can be a DP. If you K with 1 out you have another hitter to try. Thomas was one of the greatest RHH in baseball history. Sox don't have a guy like that now. I'd take it more seriously if you were telling me their wRC+ or wOBA was bad instead of their batting avg.
