Haven’t read this thread or much of the board the last week or so, but if these guys miss the playoffs, while I know they surprised everyone this season with a lot of fun, it will be still be a terrible choke job. Expectations rise quickly, and they have been in 1st for a while now. Just a terrible trade deadline. If they miss the playoffs, I will not look back at this season in a positive way, I will look at it as a giant tease and a team that couldn’t get to the finish line.

They look lifeless, and that was not their identity the first 2/3 of the season, they were never out of any game, always had some life. They just look totally out of gas. But that’s not an excuse, it’s a 162 game season for everyone. Playing like this during the 2nd half has been crazy disappointing

Okay. But both acquisitions have added a single win to the team post-trade deadline. The point of the trade deadline is to make moves that actually improve your team, which Getz failed at. At what point will you admit this?

I'll second this. I'm not sure why we're throwing her under the bus now that the Sox are in freefall. She's provided some good posts here over the course of the season. Not that this is the only criteria, but I don't see her picking fights with other posters, incessantly arguing about the same topics, engaging in "told ya so!", or anything like that. I really can't say that about some others on this site.

I think Autumn Dreamin is one of the best posters on the site. Everyone on here has their share of god awful takes. To each their own I guess.

When the trade happened I didn't like it. I gave it a chance but it's terrible. Thorpe or sandlin would be much better. We are going to miss the playoffs due to the deadline moves which made us worse so far.

Cleveland has made the post season in seven of the last 10 years. I can only speak for myself but I'd LOVE for the Sox to have that record even if they didn't do s$%^ in the playoffs. At least if you get to the post season you have a shot. It sure as hell beats what the Sox have been doing.

If they blow this and miss the playoffs, this season will have been the opposite of great. I'd rather have my mind wiped and forget it ever happened.

Why so optimistic

Is this how this team is going to let this play out? They have 15 games left to show who they are. All the good vibes of the season could go right down the drain if they blow this and miss the playoffs. They will just be remembered as a team that choked away the Division and the playoffs the last month of the season.

Time to bring this back from the 05 run. Let's start a winning streak today.

Guardians and Blue Jays both play earlier games, so we will see if this is a game to maintain 1st place in the Central or try to get back to 1 1/2 and still a lead entering Cleveland.

This season has still been great. It’s not over yet - still in 1st place in mid-September. Give the kids a chance. We are ahead of the rebuild by a year, like we were in 2020. This group, fortunately, feels different.

I must have missed the crusade against the Brewers owner or billionaire current majority owners of any of the 30 MLB teams. this story has zero percent to do with Justin or Mat Ishbia.

In response to the thread title, I only cry because @WestEddy and @CaliSoxFanViaSWside have both apparently ghosted the site amidst this awful losing streak, as they usually do when times look bad. Even though they will no longer have to exert any effort trying to defend Getz’s awful trade deadline moves, since it is obvious at this point to any non-homer White Sox fan, I am still praying for both of them every night because they are still White Sox fans afterall. Hopefully, they will both make their triumphant return to this site once the Sox manage to win a game. I miss them both, as I am sure we all do…
