  2. White Sox baseball sure is fun lately. Imagine if we had more than one real starting pitcher.

  8. Just don’t like Keuchel at this point. I think you could probably get Wood on a pillow contract for a fraction of the cost and he just might outproduce him in 2020.

  9. Next 15 games should be a good test for our important players. Wins are nice, but I want good fundamental baseball and if it’s only 6-9 or 7-8, that might be good enough for this team.

  10. I will take the career 770 PA over his 43 PA this season. Alonso fucking blows against LHP.

  11. Except on this night: July 31, 1991 - The white hot White Sox capped off a sizzling month with one of the most dramatic moments in team history. The Sox trailed the Rangers 8-6 going into the bottom of the ninth inning. Texas brought in former Sox All Star pitcher Rich "Goose" Gossage to close things out. But the goose got cooked on this night as with two out, Robin Ventura hammered a grand slam into the right field stands winning the game 10-8. A full house, which included noted Cub fan Bill Murray sitting almost behind home plate, went wild as Ventura was bodily lifted off the ground by massive Frank Thomas in a celebration hug at home plate.

  12. Wood makes sense as a secondary addition. Would be very underwhelming if he was the main get this offseason.

  14. It's not the overall numbers but the progress they make throughout the season. Most prospects take time to adjust to the level. They are there to learn and improve. They do it at individual rates.

  15. The Rickets family is a bunch of neo-nazi Christo-racist scumbags. No POC, LGBTQ, or ally should every be a Cub fan.

  19. This team is one under .500. A team with one starting pitcher, a below average bullpen, 4-5 automatic outs in the lineup including Alonso. I am of the opinion it's still going to fall apart, but as of this moment, one under .500 with this roster ... wow. Ricky deserves some money for this. p.s. I should give Lopez some credit for a few good starts and Colome a bit more credit than I have.

  27. You don't mean better, what you really want to say is that Alonso is less sucky vs. Lefties than vs. Righties. Are there any other people on this forum who are about ready to attack G-rate with pitchforks and torches is they have to watch another game were Alonso grounds out 3 or 4 times against the shift?

  30. http://www.milb.com/documents/9/7/0/308065970/2019_Voyagers_Official_Roster.pdf My takeaways: - Some jumps I didn't expect. Kleydar Sanchez barely played in AZL last year and did not hit, but he's up there. Sam Abbot was moved up. - There is a lot of fun in the position players: Last years HS crop Delgado, Maldonado and Weaver are moving up a level (Weaver performed best). Quintero, Mieses and Comas from '17 and '16 classes performed decent last year and should be fun to watch. Cam Simmons is someone I think will be a lot of fun in short season ball. I'm a little surprised Osik isn't on Great Falls - This pitching staff is full of seniors and 5th year seniors. It may be pretty good statistically. Ramon Pineda and Brayan Herrerra from 2016 intl class movin on up. Herrera does not K a lot, but he's got good control. He's 21 though so his stuff may be not good. Pineda is Michael's brother and was pretty terrible last year.

But I think these are new: - Cam Simmons (UVA) is on here, so signed - Joshua Rivera (chipola jc) - Solesky (tulane) - Kaleb Roper (tulane) - Connor Reich (Texas State) Jason Morgan is on there...is he a UDFA?

  33. Cole AND Wood would be ideal. Allows Sox to take it slow with Kopech as well.

  34. Unpopular opinion: I don't really care if Gio pitches in the All Star Game. It's cool, but being selected is what matters. I kind of would prefer he rest over the break

  41. Not only are you right but management considers him the leader of the rebuild and our Cuban ambassador. Once he stops digging in the dirt for crappy sliders he usually takes over the league for a couple weeks. Now let the teenagers spat over him for a while.

  42. He’s clearly off to a great start in AA, as he seems to be adjusting well. Still have massive concerns about his ability to hit the ball over the head of the outfielders.

  44. I'd be a fan of another team. The Ricketts have have stood by Addison Russell, Aroldis Chapman, are headed by Old Man Racist Ricketts, they've partnered with Sinclair, and more underhanded shit. Meanwhile, the absolute worst I can think of from the Sox is the fact that they traded for Brett Myers, which still disgusts me to my core. At some point you gotta call it quits, and the Cubs would be well past that point.
