what a bunch of crybabies in here. TLR crybabies, especially. Grow up, theyre 10 games up in mid august with an important stretch of games coming up.6 points
-
JFC, no. It’s not “crybabyism” to point out a handful of ridiculously easy decisions a child could have made that our manager didn’t in either game. Those decisions put us in a much worse position to try to win and winning HFA is ridiculously important on a team that struggles with elite competition. It’s one thing when we just get beat by better playing, better managing, better pitching. it’s quite another when a nincompoop leaves his best weapons on the bench because of some bygone hunch from 1974 that is a statistically losing play.5 points

Then he should have let someone else manage these 2 games, and he take family leave.4 points
-
All this means to me is that they should be trying to win as many games as possible against the bad teams before having to play 4 good teams in a row. We might be wishing we didn't punt this game when we're struggling to win games in the next 2 weeks.4 points
-
Leaving Anderson, Moncada, and Robert on the bench in the 9th, down only 1 run. It's going to be awesome when they don't have home field advantage and lose the deciding game IN Oakland or IN Houston... Forget about the Indians, that's over.4 points
-
If only we could replace TLR with one of the numerous message board managers lol, we would be 40+ games over .500.4 points
-
Not blaming Tony. He’s toying fairly clearly. But one run games are exactly where in game management makes a difference. Belittling that is wrong.4 points

Just odd to hear anyone say that. Tons of boomers use basic modern tech and are fully aware of Youtube and Smart TV's and laptops. I would imagine there is a small segment of them perhaps over 70 that haven't mastered it yet but if you have a computer and have no idea what Youtube is you are really out of touch.4 points

The White Sox are only a couple games behind for getting home field advantage in the playoffs but yeah these games are essentially meaningless. Alrighty then.3 points

Getting shutout by a minor league squad is not acceptable. All the other stuff is bs.3 points

Tony is missing tomorrow to attend his sisters husbands funeral. Thats why he made such poor decisions today and yesterday. Time to move on now.3 points

Getting one at bat in the top of the ninth is going to make a big difference in the rest pattern of Robert, Moncada, Anderson , all of which can tie the game with a big fly? Is that too much to ask of guys making millions?3 points
-
im not saying its making much of a difference one way or the other.. because i dont think it really is but the people that think TLR is a good manager (this year) in these threads crack my shit up.3 points

Baseball Hall of Fame Person: Ruiz is the correct call in a 0-0 game. Kimbrel also the correct call in a 0-1 game. What a fucking clown.3 points

1-3 in the lineup are 2-12 with 8 Ks any further analysis of this game is worthless that is where it starts and ends Offense sucked the last two days. Kopech hasn't been lights out this month to warrant the weeping and gnashing of teeth over him not coming in for the 6th and now it looks like Kimbrel and Hendricks will pitch the 8th and 9th Every issue with this team all season is the lack of offensive consistency and not the manager.3 points
-
Kopech has pitched 1.2 IP since August 3rd. Hendriks has one appearance since August 1st. Kimbrel has 1.2 IP since August 1st. If these guys are only allowed to pitch in the 7th inning or later when the Sox are ahead, they'll be WAY underutilized and it'll cost the Sox very winnable games.3 points

This broadcast reminds me of a more adult version of the Nickelodeon playoffs broadcast that the Bears had last year.3 points

That's OK. We'd love to see the millennials try to adjust the antenna and use a manual tuner to try to get a decent picture on channel 32 or 44 back in the 70's. You all would be Cubs fans just because it was easier!3 points

I live in Dubuque, tried to get tickets but did not win. If anyone coming for the game needs assistance/suggestions I am here for ya. It will be hot as hell in those bleachers! Will be a lot of fun for those going. They are working on it being an annual event so hopefully that transpires. I retired in June and finally got to my first Sox game in July, the double header with the Twins. Started following the Sox around 1980 when Harry Caray siill did the broadcast.3 points

Don't buy this. They aren't doing an MRI if there aren't some kind of symptoms. They may think the symptoms are nothing and doing the MRI out of caution but he felt something. Hopefully it is nothing that the break can't help.3 points

Grandal is a big missing piece in this lineup. He draws walks and gets on base. If you have noticed, a lot of our guys are not being patient up there. If you plug Grandal in between one of those guys, it can make a difference. That’s what’s missing from this team right now.2 points

This game was played like an NFL preseason game. They all count the same. No game should be punted. The next 2 weeks or so will tell us a lot about this team. If they handle that stretch well, this will be forgotten.2 points

I think people are forgetting that before this season Kopech hadn't thrown a pitch in 2.5 years. Now you want to change his role in the middle of the season? I think that's pretty dangerous for a guy with his track record. I think everyone should be happy he's pitching at all and worry about next year next year.2 points
-
Do you always complain no matter if they are winning or not because it seems like your doing a lot of it the past two days? Lol2 points

The whole the coach knows more is weak. This is a message board. If people can't discuss topics, then why even be here.2 points
-
So why is the assumption that if Kopech pitched Minnesota wouldn't have scored? Kopech hasn't been too dominant of late. If he had pitched at best we are looking at going to the 10th at 0-0. Hard to understand when you lose a game 1-0 all the questions about the pitching.2 points

Huh? Dude literally sucked so badly in the first month with the Twins that he had to be removed from the Closers role. The ERA has gone down but a lot of that was use in low leverage situations. I supposed maybe he was magic in a White Sox uniform but we would be crapping our collective pants in May when Bummer or Kopech were inserted in the Closers role. I actually was for signing Colome last year but I was wrong. I will say Colome is truly a White Sox legend. Was lights out for us and then imploded for the Twins. Can't get much better than that.2 points

That would be awesome! 9 position players would play every inning of every game and 3 pitchers would throw 500 innings each.2 points

we weren't eliminated today? This game today should have been managed like game 7 of the World Series...2 points

Or. Or. He's not paniking and acting like every fucking pitch is the bottom of the fucking 9th in the 7th game of the fucking Worls Series.2 points

really short sighted on Kopech, having him throw an inning every other day and then thinking he can just jump into 100+ innings next year is dumb af.2 points

"Should he be shut down" and "do we expect the Sox to shut him down" are two completely different things, chief.2 points

Revisionist history is always wrong. We just had a poll here that asked Should Rodon be shut down for an extended period? 77.66% of responders said NO.2 points

I'm okay with limiting his innings. Just odd that they advertised he'd be pitching in the Field of Dreams game then put him on the IL.2 points
