It's my understanding they can't put him on admin leave because they haven't paid him yet and players do not get paid during spring training. If MLB doesn't hand down their suspension before pitchers and catchers report next week this asshole is going to spring training and it's gonna be a total s%*# show. At least the cowards will finally be held accountable and step in front of a microphone to explain to their fans how they even signed such a s%*# stain to begin with so I'm all for him reporting to spring training. Let the chaos begin!3 points

Never forget that White Sox baseball is truly about making excuses, blaming the fans and media, being shocked when dumb decisions don't pan out, and most importantly, being mired in mediocrity.1 point

This is a pretty good looking T-shirt. Figure it’s worth posting if people are interested. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/fans/team-liam?partnerId=zh-20230206-821891-CWS-1-A&qid=16&utm_id=zh-20230206-821891-CWS-1-A&utm_source=cws_community_news&utm_medium=email&bt_ee=MQxxLLKDxz5nDU7Sqsdx0TcjW5YACBcZkcTtcuD9aCzTUa7XHtAUjxtJF5yWMJPe&bt_ts=16757171428271 point

The White Sox won seven more games than the Cubs in 2022. That's not a lot. The Cubs were active acquiring very good talent during the off-season. Besides Benentendi, the White Sox did virtually nothing to improve the team. They also lost their best hitter (Abreu) and their second best starter (Cueto) from 2022. Thinking the Cubs will probably win more games than the White Sox in 2023 is not at all far-fetched. If you do bet your house, consider buying a tent as a hedge.1 point

I saw that this weekend and was kind of shocked. For the new manager of the White Sox to say that in 2023, after all the "World Series Window" lines by Rick these last 4-5 years is pretty amazing.1 point

I'd be surprised if the White Sox said word one. They will say because the matter is being investigated they can't say anything.1 point

Even if that were to happen JR wouldn't sell because of the financial tax hit.1 point

I'll take the under. Always the under. You can't lose on the emotion. Then it's either being right or pleasantly surprised. Take the over and be wrong and disappointed or right and happy.1 point

They will use that place for music events, high school, college, and soccer games until it falls apart. The city will walk away as soon as it needs to be fixed for real. they have 130 suites/skyboxes in that place just nothing remotely close to the current competition in the league(Dallas has 380)1 point

They will be heading to the suburbs. It would be very surprising if they tried to do another spaceship landing in Soldier Field Renovation. It also has the benefit of being the right decision for the city too, a domed stadium will host a Chicago Super Bowl before 2030, and it's going to be super cool, the entire Super Bowl crowd will freeze and find a deep dish pizza place and just be in awe of how well it works. The Chicago Bears should be one of the NFL's Marquee Franchises, they should have a 75000-80000 seat domed stadium for football games and the occasional visit by Beyoncé in the suburbs, and they will have a huge waitlist for tickets once its built. I don't know what they will do with Soldier Field, this is legitimately a conundrum to me. I don't know if the right decision there is to demolish the monstrosity they built and try to restore the classic field or just demolish the whole thing, that would depend on who might use a 50,000 seat stadium near the lake with no skyboxes. This is a challenge for someone who knows the options better than me to figure out.1 point

How can you possibly forget about Leury and Sheets as our OF depth? Oh and throwing one of our INF prospects in the OF to fix the issue. So tired of this organization.1 point

Is anyone actually surprised here? Predictions in the mid 80s seem on the generous side after the offseason they had.1 point

85 wins leaves you right at the division or at least final playoff spot late into September.1 point

I can only tell you that is what I was hearing from sources in my "State of the Sox" story. It was from individuals who would know about such things. I found it hard to believe but I trust the people I spoke with.1 point

I feel like in order to "retire" with the team, they should be required to be in one play.1 point

They have 2 years to figure out how to get a 1990's AI Hawk Harrelson and Tom Paciorek to call the games.0 points

If there are no lineup improvements made between now and the start of the regular season, I think the White Sox win total will be 79. I think there's a likelihood that the Cubs will finish the season with a better record than the White Sox. Oy.0 points
