Can someone please get through to Schriffen that you don’t call people out until you can actually do it. 6 win teams don’t “have something for you” when you come to town, except to cure exactly what ails your team (except Tampa)

I like this. Have some pride even if it's contrived. I like his South Side talk too, I get the impression that he thinks about a baseball team's civic identity, what it might mean to the local community, and I'd support efforts to market the Sox as a neighborhood team rather than as a national or international brand. It might have the effect of international marketing anyway, a South Side Chicago team is objectively cool and everybody should want to imitate it. We have a global identity. I went to China once and met a woman who was obsessed with Lil Durk and less notable Chicago rappers, the South Side exists even in the Eastern imagination. We don't need another documentary about the hat, we need local initiatives. We already had a shooterz night which is a step in a direction, but I'm probably not the guy to ask about marketing.

I didn’t watch or follow this one, thank god. I hope Schriffen made sure to call out all of the haters today. What did the Sox end up having for the Twins, as he put it? Laying down and getting swept by them in two series in only one week? Maybe he will learn to zip it from now on.

The Twins are now on the verge of sweeping the Sox for the second time in a week. Perhaps Schriffen should stay quiet and realize that he is defending a 6-24 team entirely too hard. He hasn’t even been here for a year and he’s already another one of JR’s puppets.

You are what your record says you are and this team/organization maybe the worst in baseball. You don't like teams dissing you, laughing at you? Do something about it besides rolling over and dying.

It's strange how he's already doing the "Sox against everybody" thing when he's been on the job for about a month and has no real ties to the Sox being born in NYC. I guess tho that attitude is basically the only requirement for the job. It's certainly not baseball knowledge.

The enthusiasm will be cool if they're ever good again but the haters part is super lame. If you're an adult human and using the term "haters", you should probably re-evaluate your life.

If guys like Sosa don't get the chance to play through failure, they will never will succeed at the major league level. If guys like Sosa and Colas aren't mentally ready for the majors in a basic sense, maybe we should look at who oversaw the system when they were supposed to be learning how to be ready for the majors in terms of baseball IQ. If major league management can't teach these guys how to be major leaguers, maybe we should look at who is running the major league program. If a steady stream of minor leaguers isn't good enough to even serve as a potential pieces for the future, maybe we should look at the drafting and development people. You see how your excuses all have one common theme, right?

I like the line, but it would be really great if the Sox, were good. Now it's like an epic bat fip after hitting a homer into the first row of the bleachers to trim the deficit to 9-2 with 2 out in the 9th. No need to call anyone out when you are this bad.

I went to a concert last Thursday, and both the warm-up and the headliner made jokes about the White Sox futility.

So we now have two older prospects who Sox scouts viewed as ready for the big leagues already discarded a month later. Inspiring.

Getz signs bunch of veterans in the offseason. The rationale is so he can give the younger players time to marinate in the minors. The Sox have a record poor start to the season. Getz freaks out and calls up young prospects that struggle. He also signs more veterans and cuts several young players from the 40-man roster to make room for these veterans. Getz is a terrible GM.

Schriffen is a complete idiot and a symbol of what is wrong with how this team is run. I know he has to be a "homer," but he is insulting our intelligence with his crap. Same with Stone who complains that the Sox aren't "getting any breaks." The broadcast booth is a joke. Garfien and Ozzie can go, too. And take the listless Gordon Beckham with them.

A few weeks ago Ozzie on the postgame show said he didn't want to manage again.

Getz, not Hahn or Kenny, but Getz and only Getz had a horrible offseason and his frantic and ill-advised 40-man roster decisions in an attempt to fix things when those efforts are quite obviously futile have only made things worse. Anyone who doesn’t see this and can’t admit it must be blindly supporting Getz. Our GM is making decisions like a meth addict who ran out of his stash.

Last year I was at Disney World and they told my wife and I we could go to the front of the line since we were the closest two person group. A guy that we walked by told his group to "let the guy in the Sox shirt by, he's suffering."

We're about to take back over our rightful position as WORST MLB team, so we've got that going for us. Miami and Colorado keep trying to wear the crown, but they really are no match for Captain Getz and Lieutenant Grifol.

I love that there's like 10 people in the crowd and we can hear individual conversations from the fans on the mics.

I was going to rip bullpen and OF defense, but to what end? Our starting pitching is OK and thats about it. No reinforcements are on the way. There are a few guys in the minors and they are all a year away at the best. The only exception is Drew Thorpe, another starting pitcher. It looks to me we will have 3 100 loss teams in a row unless JR does us a favor and sells- or dies.

The error sucked, and Pedro is awful, but this bullpen is a leaking gas can with a roaring bonfire next to it. They're gonna need to figure out how to bring some stability to it or they're gonna struggle to win every day.

He's a competent starting big leaguer. That's cause for excitement around here but I don't think anybody is really too happy he's one of our best players.

It's funny Pham is the type of guy we should have signed last year and prior.

I have no faith that this team can hold onto or build upon a one run lead. They would have to go up by about 8 or 9 runs for me to feel comfortable about winning.

The Score is pretty broad though. They have numerous hosts with different thoughts. Most of those hosts were pretty tight with Benetti too. It's not just because of that though. The Sox let one of the best broadcasters in the country leave and they hired Schriffen because they finally found someone to take the job. I think John can be good. It hasn't been a great start though; starting with appearances on Bulls and Hawks broadcasts trying to get fans excited about a team that will be bunting and playing the game the right way. Barf.

If the Score is upset about it, I almost have to like it.

His arm is as good as any in the system, but he is further away from that ceiling. If the Sox were trading any of their dog water type players, a guy like Thompson would be a smart return in an attempt to capture more ceiling. The bigger problem is the short term thinking that leads to a guy like Thompson essentially being lost for nothing. That's just stupid as a team who is YEARS away.

It is a trade that takes place for a minimal amount of cash. Anything over one million dollars has to go to the commish's office for approval, so it is automatically less than that. Typically it is a very small amount just so that they can call it a "trade", maybe in the thousands, but as low as literally a dollar.

But the knock-off brands. Dr. Thunder, Mountain Mist, Sprint Lemon, Fantuz Orange...
