I believe it is just this year as of now right?  I guess I'm just commenting if he was able to pitch

It's a 324 game suspension actually. None of his time missed prior to the announcement of that counts since he was paid.

And also, is there any source that says they are moving on from him? They wouldn't really have to if they're not paying him anyway.

All personal opinions aside, I think it would be nice to go at least one year without a controversial hire/acquisition with the potential to divide the clubhouse and fanbase.

To be honest, I wouldn’t want Bauer if the Dodgers DFA’d him and the Sox only had to pay the ML minimum.

Cubs and Houston had to feel scummy with acquiring Chapman and Ozuna for the stretch run.

I wanted no part of Bauer when he was a free agent, and was on the record saying he is a horrendous person and teammate, with enough evidence prior to his signing with the Dodgers.

I don’t disagree with you at all, just trying to make a somewhat objective take about his effect on the team/community for those who believe that he has been exonerated or whatever.

I agreed with both posts, just wanted to go a step further stating even if he gave the Sox a significant SP upgrade for free in terms of payroll, the personal cost is to great to bring into that clubhouse.

And I also agree the team and fan base deserve and need a drama free team in 2023 (and hopefully beyond).

Cheers!

Doesn’t seem like beating and anally raping a woman while she is unconscious is much of a leap to murder to me

Killing someone (perhaps accidentally) while fulfilling his fantasies is a reasonable worry. He already choked someone until she was unconscious. Murder is a different legal definition.

And I believe someone can rehab themselves including him. So I believe he can stay out of trouble and lead a solid life. But doesn't get another chance to play MLB baseball. That ship has sailed. I join others who say it would send their loyalty to the team.

Would be a solid #4 option for the Mets, but I don't see them having the stomach for it after the FO chaos over the past few years.

Would say Texas (Houston/Rangers) are his likely landing spots in terms of teams trying and fanbases willing to accept the baggage. Houston is already considered "a villain", but they may be trying to shed that image. The Rangers have been home of stupid s%*# since inception, so that is the most logical destination with no further inputs.

He will absolutely get picked up by a team. I’ll predict the Mets.

I don’t think they’re going to risk everything else they’re trying to do for this. Isn’t Cohen also trying to get a gambling license with considerable competition, meaning he needs politicians on his side?

If you know then you know.  If you don’t, then you make comments like this.

It’s that simple.
