I know you never agree with any form of White Sox slander, but it’s amazing your lack of understanding on a topic like this. Do you think Bob Nightengale just….made this up? The same Bob Nightengale that broke the news Tony LaRussa was being hired by the White Sox, and the same Bob Nightengale that has leaked countless other Sox nuggets over the years? What do you think happened here? He heard rumors from a guy who’s friend with another guy who heard this rumor over text, and Bob just decided to run with it? Or is it possible the USA Today baseball writer was told this information by multiple high-ranking individuals who wanted it printed, Nightengale confirmed it and printed it?8 points

So next year the Sox could possibly owe 60 million for Lynn, Pollock, Kelly and Grandal? Yeah, Hahn fucking sucks6 points
-
Sox fans deserve better than going back to the well with Ozzie. There's a reason no team has seriously considered him for a managerial job since he was fired in Miami. Raise your standards. jeez.6 points

Yoan has hammered the ball three times. Easily the highlight of the night4 points

That could be the dumbest I've read in a looooong time and I just tried to get a pitcher on IR in the game.4 points
-
Yoan's put up elite exit velocity numbers since coming off the IL. 92.2 on average which would be the 2nd highest market of his career. He's about to start hitting again.4 points

Name a bigger rivalry than Ray Ray and unverified baseball sources4 points

Exit velocity of 112 max, is holding his own as a youngster in his league, and is apparently a LEGIT MLB projectable SS? Great draft pick so far, could still flame out but to get a top 60 asset out of that spot as of today is great.4 points

You mean the video where it looked like Hahn was a hostage? Good times.4 points

It was really, really obvious that the Sox front office had a modern baseball mind in mind when Rick Hahn got up on Zoom and talked about his ideal manager to replace RR. They spent all of those years suffering through shitty baseball after stripping this to the studs and rebuilding. The last thing Rick and Kenny want to see is this ruined by a mismatch of manager and players. Maybe they lost the behind the scenes fight with Jerry, but now they are trying to win the battle of public opinion.4 points

TLR is kind of like the deaf basketball coach in the movie Van Wilder, just mumbling saying a bunch of nonsense while Van Wilder is drawing up the game winning play on the chalkboard behind him4 points
-
Ricky was a pretty poor game day manager, but I don’t think anyone can say he didn’t have his clubs ready to play every day, or that he was bad in the clubhouse. There seemed to be a genuine camaraderie on & off the field, even when there were still growing pains. Night and day difference from the vibes we’ve gotten from day 1 under TLR.4 points

Katz is the big exception there, otherwise, yep. I totally agree. There are so many different ways you can give your team/organization an edge on the margins and the Sox are bad at practically all of them.4 points
-
Duh. This was EXACTLY what my top worry was when they hired this clown, and it has been obvious all year long that this team isn't right.4 points

Then again, there are literally 0 teams in baseball that would not offer Rodon a QO, or hire Tony La Russa.3 points

I’d be more willing to listen to a flat earth argument than non-tender Giolito argument3 points

They have to consider non-tendering Giolito coming off a bad year.3 points

Lynn’s just a waste this year. Would have been nice if he took his conditioning more seriously in the offseason.3 points

What would other players have to gain by telling Bob that. I’m still saying it’s a JR or TLR plant3 points

The idea that you have to destroy stuff to be a leader is one of the dumbest things that still remains from the 20th century. It means you can't handle some adversity like a damned adult. Grow up.3 points

Fans were pissed about hiring a manger (old) and also out of managing for ten years to then hire someone who hasn't managed in almost twenty? Seems like a good angle.3 points

This team isn't winning anything worthwhile until we modernize the front office and coaching staff. As a team that doesn't like to spend big on premium free agents, you have to spend money and resources in places that will help you get bargains and squeeze every ounce of talent out of your players. The Sox FO and coaching staff are almost the exact opposite of that.3 points

We need an Arizona reporter to ask Keuchel what he thinks of the White Sox clubhouse turmoil. I'm sure if you ask, he will definitely say something incriminating. That guy will ramble on to reporters forever.3 points

Things I expected TLR to be good at when he was hired: 1. Has playoff experience 2. Knows how to manage a clubhouse Things TLR is actually good at: 1. 2. 3.3 points

La Russa and Abreu gone after 2022. Trade Giolito, Anderson, and Moncada. Build a new team with a new coaching staff in 2023. Stop putting up with shit!!!3 points

If anything, leaking this is bad for somebody like the manager. Not necessarily the players. It's LaRussa's job to make sure the clubhouse runs well and doesn't get divided.3 points

Nightengale’s sources are in FO, possibly JR himself. May be an attempt to blame players instead of management.3 points

Part of me thinks some of the leaked drama boils over on this trip and they crash and burn. 2-6 or 1-7 would not surprise me one bit. I would welcome it if it meant change, but...2 points
