  1. I'll gladly take 3/4. Detroit's overall bad, but they were on a bit of a streak coming into this series. Definitely a big series win to get back on track after the Indians series was looking bleak. Really tough stretch coming up with 10 of the next 13 coming against the Jue Blays, Revil Days and Asstros. Gonna be important to come out of that stretch in good shape.

  2. It is easy for an anonymous poster to question LaRussa's character, but it makes me wonder about theirs.

  3. RH: “Tigers looking to split the series. We are better at every single area but one.” KW: “Yes we are, same as when we face the Twins. Salvador Perez and Trevor Bauer are the only exceptions in our division.” RH: “Tony keeps ordering outs on purpose. Bunts, failed hit and runs, batting injured batters, bashing players for home runs. Playing Leury every single game. Poor bullpen decisions, leaving gassed pitchers out there, even after I went over how best to use our staff.” KW: “He may be the worst manager we ever had, clearly the worst in baseball today.” RH: “He’s going to cost us any chance at a World Series, isn’t he?” KW: “God works in mysterious ways.”

  4. Great thread title. You are a class act and joy to post with, ron! Sox are lucky to have you as a fan.

  5. Please grow up. Your schtick is tired. We are all here to cheer on the Sox. But I won’t be feeding into whatever twisted need you have for attention. Enjoy your trolling good sir.

  6. I for one am rooting for the White Sox to win this game. I had to make the game thread to remove the filth from the previous game thread starter.

  7. 65th all time in win percentage. Tied for 6th in World Series - but we should probably dock him the A's World Series due to the rampant cheating. 3rd all time in playoff appearances. And if McDowell is correct, then Tony's entire first White Sox tenure is as tainted as the Astro's recent run. I'd might have given TLR the benefit of the doubt if he actually denied the camera system instead of a weak deflection. So sure, TLR's got the second most numerical wins, built on the backs of steroids and and cameras.

  8. The pen is fine for the most part, they just need to pitch like it. There are some electric arms out there. They just need to get through whatever is going on. The worst thing they can go is overreact to SSS and trade real talent for relievers.

  9. Cease vs Urena. Hopefully we get a nice bounceback game from Cease. Go Sox!

  18. Actually it isn’t. Fans don’t tune in to root for the manager. With the obvious exception to this strange cadre of TLR worshipers. An aging slugger hitting his 600th is not the same as a washed up hack riding the coat tails of great talent to some post HOF career accolade.

  19. Bob Brenly is taking a week off to reflect on his statements about Stroman and others including Aramis Ramirez who spoke out regarding Brenly's personal attacks. Steve Stone, who has a history of attacking various players and managers, including his current crusade against Yoan Moncada, better check himself before he is also asked to take a time out, either temporary or permanent. https://theathletic.com/2631373/2021/06/03/former-cub-aramis-ramirez-says-bob-brenlys-commentary-was-discriminatory-brenly-to-take-week-off-of-diamondbacks-broadcasts/ Chicago Now Article Link: https://www.chicagonow.com/cubs-den/2015/05/analyzing-bob-brenly-the-way-he-analyzes-starlin-castro/

  20. Missed the game today, but seems his archaic bunting lead to another loss? Yes? How many games has this troglodyte cost us so far? 6? Or is it more? If only all of those past wins stacked up tall meant that TLR is a competent and capable manager here and now today in the year of 2021...

  21. LOL. Please, continue worshiping his past accomplishment all you want. His number of career wins still doesn't change how fucking terrible he is as manager of the Chicago White Sox in 2021.

  22. How about you pay some respect to the soon-to-be 2nd winningest manager ever?

  23. If you want to worship at the altar of TLR's past accomplishment, be my guest. I don't give AF. Doesn't change how bad he is in 2021.

  24. Can we complain about TLR on that congratulatory thread or is that only for his friggin fan boys?

  25. Which is exactly why I am not giving up real talent for a guy who could suck the next day.

  26. Accolades for past accomplishment can’t and don’t change that he is a shitty manager in 2021. But I sure hope they keep his stans warm at night.

  27. CONGRATS Tony! Its not everyday a team has a Hall of Fame manger on their roster. We’re living in a Golden Era of White Sox baseball, appreciate it.

  30. Good win, if not for some bad BABIP luck Sox might have scored a couple more. Nice to get Jose a day off and Engel back and already paying dividends in CF. Cease, maybe the best stuff he's ever had. Was filthy. Don't stop now boys!

  31. Stone is 1000% right about that being a weakness for Robert. If Engel can teach Robert that, look out.

  32. I love game-threads where people declare Cease is terrible in the 1st inning and then he settles in.

  33. He is a terrible manager now. He has cost this team wins. But you want us to celebrate all of the games won with other teams. Many of which were won with cheating heavily involved in some way. Sure, ok, let me put on my party hat and crack the bubbly.

  34. The question wasn’t “what team has the White Sox played the most?” or “what teams are in the White Sox division?” It was which team is our (yes our) biggest rival, a word that has has a more expansive definition than “most frequent opponent.” This debate always goes the same way. It’s a definitional problem. One group posits that the Cubs are a rival because they play a few miles away, compete for the same fans and same market, and have produced a decades-old feud memorialized in songs, folklore, and play games that fire the fans up more than any other team by far. Another group says “but they’re not in our division! Rivals are in the same division. So they’re not our rivals. Different division.” Never understood camp two, but sure, if you narrow your personal definition of “rivalry” to “teams we play the most games against head-to-head” then look at a list of the teams in our division at any given time and there’s your answer.

  35. Giving away an out against Derek Holland is much worse than not knowing a rule. He decreased the sox chance of winning today by nearly 12%. That's just fucking comical. He was talking about tying the game as if that was the goal. Guy is such a jack Wagon.

  36. That was just a bad time for a bunt today, period. If you will not adjust your strategy based on who is pitching, I just don't know what to say. And the fact that he seemed to not like being questioned about it after the game just pisses me off. Can we reopen the TLR thread? And I don't mean the kiss ass one about his # of wins.

  37. Holland couldn't get anyone out. You read the situation there and you don't bunt...

  40. I quietly suspected they were on good terms as during Yermin’s slump: - La Russa recently talked about how Yermin had one of the best BP’s he’d ever seen - La Russa in postgame the other night credited something Hamilton did on the bases to “Yermy being such a great two strike hitter” - La Russa still kept Mercedes 5th through a one month slump while many called for him to move down I agree Tony botched the original situation, but he’s done a good job rectifying that mistake and rebuilding that relationship, and credit Yermin for being open to that too. Happy for them!
