I'm hoping the Sox don't f$$$ this up too. Jason wants to be here and the vast majority of Sox fans want him back. This feels like the FO trying to save a few $'s and low ball him since he will miss a few games due to his Fox assignments. Virtually every really good baseball pbp guy has other gigs and their teams deal with it just fine. If the Sox f$$$ this up, get ready for Kasper and Gordo on the call. If that happens I'm watching the opponent's feed. Silence would be better than those two.

The opportunity to take this team to the next level passed it by and I think it's possibly too late. Ohtani Machado Harper Wheeler Betts Turner Scherzer Soto All available in the past years and none ended up on the Sox. Getting one of the actual big fish was billed as part of the plan if I recall correctly. And they did not and basically gave up on any of them when they lost Machado and Wheeler.

This could be another push me over the edge to stop being a fan. I get sick of Reinsdorf forcing former players on us who are not good at anything.

I believe the one about Dallas Keuchel and the “Clique”. Keuchel came in the door talking s%*# about how HE HIMSELF needed to instill a “Winning attitude” in the clubhouse, only to s%*# himself in Game 2 of the 2020 playoffs. They probably blame Keuchel for getting Renteria fired (I remember him tweeting his excitement when everybody thought Hinch had the job), so I’m sure they roasted his ass every chance they got. He deserved every bit of it.

On the Jason thing.... I love his passion for the sox and that after all the obstacles he's done what he's done. That's highly admirable and deserves a ton of respect. But on the flip side there is some things about Jason that annoy the s%*# out of me and if he moves on I wouldn't be totally sad

Phillies went from 7 games under, firing their manager, to making the playoffs and beating a pretty good Cardinals team in the first round. If only another team with a bad manager did something similar.

Hard not to improve considering how awful he was. 90% of his improvement comes from Jason drawing out his insight through asking him direct questions. Without Jason, he's toast.

Don't hire someone that would demand upgrades to the analytics, scouting, development, and training staffs. Heaven forbid the new guy gets to hire his own coaches...... that would threaten guys like Boston and McWavin's lifetime appointments. Let's hire a guy like the former St Louis manager that will just be happy to have a job and take whatever the FO gives him. 42 years of incompetence and counting.

Going into next season banking on Pollock to stay healthy + be productive + and hit RHP would be insanity. I don't think it's a given he can be anything more than a short sided platoon player at this point in his career. A 69 wRC+ with absolutely 0 power at all (vs RHP) isn't something I'd expect a 35 year old with an extensive injury history to bounce back from.

Pollock actually hit close to his career averages in the 2nd half of the season and his defense was also much. better. But he's just a frustrating player to watch. Constantly popping the ball up on the infield and not being able to hit RHP gets real old. I think there is a chance he can rebound to being a 2+ WAR player next year, but that's not changing the outlook of this team.

If any season should ever have taught white Sox fans about how bad the assumption is that no one will be good enough to challenge them for the division and they will walk away with it easily, it’s this year. No one talked a bigger game without backing it up than the White Sox.

I read this before he removed the backstory. The backstory didn't make a whole lot of sense. Apparently he works at Panera and at the ER? Maybe I misread that part or am misremembering it. Either way, I find it hard to believe anybody would talk this long and in this detail to a stranger about gossip at their job. All this must have taken hours to talk about.

No, he's not. He's should be hitting 7th and everyone else should have stepped up to fill the void by now. Of course, they havent.

Regardless of which one of these rumors are true and and which ones are BS doesn't matter! The disgusting bottom line is, the Sox are still owned and run by the worst pathetic owner in baseball. Sadly nothing is going to change until JR passes away and the team is sold, or he let's his son Michael run it and completely stays out of any decisions and involvement whatsoever.

Players can only be offered the QO once and Abreu was already offered it last time he was a free agent.

35 year old putting up 4.2 WAR and stability that no one else would offer while being by far the best position player on the team this year is a pretty easy A.

One guy I would think about trading is Hendriks. He's been great. Love him as a person and player but................the Sox would have won the divison without him in 2021 and would have been bad, like they were, without him in 2022. He's clearly in pain pitching now. The pitch clock next year may really bother him, as he will have less recovery time. And he should be worth something.

That's what I'm thinking. Even if they don't win it all I can see him saying enough. He's got generational wealth, he's got an MVP, he's played in the playoffs. He's accomplished quite a bit. He's a Sox legend and will get a statue. If he wants to spend more time with his family who can blame him and it might honestly help the Sox if he decides to retire anyways.
