Burger has to be in the starting lineup every day. I don't care where he plays, his bat has to be in the lineup every day.5 points

its amazing what can happen when you make the pitcher throw strikes4 points

There is no patience in the game today. Not only batters but management and especially fans want big hits and they want them now. Walks don't get hurrahs. You gotta swing in order to hit the ball. Team play is gone. The little things are laughable. Only the big splash gets you the acclaim and money.4 points

It's also a bunch of stiffs trying to pin their failure on someone else. Fulmer has been let go by how many teams? Will no one let him long toss? I saw Clevenger long tossing before the game Friday.3 points

Twins next embark on the Rays and Jays road trip. Those teams are not as hot as when the Sox saw them, but this could be the moment when the Central has no teams above .500.3 points

So if Burger takes the walk like he should have, this game is tied! These are the little things that kills this team.3 points

This thread is way more interesting than anything team related at the moment.3 points

A sweep would be nice. A struggling left hander seems like a good recipe for success. The only thing I worry about is the team for the last almost 2 full years, seems to usually be really flat in these situations, like winning the series was enough. It isn’t enough.3 points

I did too and Pedro better wake up. The sweep was nice and seeing Hendricks pitch that awesome top 9th inning was the 2nd best moment in the game, other than the Burger slam.2 points

This is par for the course for this incompetent, dysfunctional and inept organization.2 points

That’s 59-40, I’d love to see it but they’ve been a .500 team now for almost 2 years. The pitching is coming around except for Lynn but the hitters really have to start producing on a regular basis to have a chance of a Division title.2 points

I like that the Sox listened to the coaches as Lange doesn’t throw strikes. Walks are as good as hits.2 points

As we've known for several years the White Sox are one the worst teams in baseball in plate discipline. 2023 league stats Chase% Swing % 1st Pitch Swing % 33.3 - 30th 49.7 - 30th 32.4 - 25th This pathetic lack of plate discipline in turn causes these horrible offensive stats: BB% BB%+ BB/K% OBP OBP+ 6.6% - 30th 77 - 30th 0.29% - 30th .296 - 30th 93 - 30th The fact it hasn't gotten any better, confirms as we've known for awhile...the GM, manager and coaching staff have done little to nothing to create a specific plan to improve this problem. Additionally, the players obviously don't care enough and are probably not sitting down and watching any or little tape of their AB's with the hitting coach. This starts at the top with Pedro who is over his head. He obviously is not making this a mandatory concern and project of making the players watch tape of their AB's and getting in that new batting machine that creates the off-speed secondary pitches. The worst aspect of this dysfunctional front office, is the fact it exposes how inept the White Sox organization is regarding their scouting and development process and philosophies on hitting and plate discipline! The fact the White Sox keep drafting, trading for, or signing FA players with this terrible lack of plate discipline is a huge problem.2 points

nah man its not that simple... good teams still know not to swing at every pitch. For example, the dodgers have a 23% chase rate ... best in baseball The white sox have a 33% chase rate. the worst in mlb.. the sox also lead the league in swinging in general. basically they have a losing, undisciplined approach at the plate that has been allowed to fester for about a decade.2 points

Peregrine falcons tend to come around in Spring and seem to like tall buildings in absence of actual cliffs. Maybe they're nesting lower this year for some reason. I wonder if they're more prevalent this year in general, the Field Museum monitors them and their reintroduction program has been very successful. I'm a big fan of the guys that live atop University Hall at UIC. Part of me thinks it would be really cool if they're nesting at the ballpark, but I also worry about their safety if Zac Gallen ever pitches here.2 points

If I had a nickel for every time the Sox won on a walkoff wild pitch with TA up to bat in the last year, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice. The previous incident was facing the A's last year.1 point

that's a lie from manfred. they could have fixed it years ago. they enjoyed making money off the extra innings and mlb.tv packages, as well as making the national packages worth more due to blackout restrictions.1 point

well, according to this press release ( http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...ws&c_id=cws ), the sox have indeed slashed full season ticket costs as high as 31%. are you calling brooks a liar?1 point
