  1. There is no hope and this isn’t pessimistic, this is realistic. I maintain that this is the worst spot the franchise has been in, in its history. Black sox scandal was bad but at least they had fucking fans back then. Jerry reinsdorf and his New York cronies have completely tanked the Sox since they’ve been in charge. Hell even 20 years ago they could compete with the cubs for fans, now it’s completely one sided. And rick hahn/Kenny Williams have proven for 15 years they have no clue how to build a team in the modern era, and there’s no way they will be fired under this ownership. No hope for the major leaguers and no hope for the farm and no fans, makes this the worst spot this franchise has ever been in. Literally the only hope is reinsdork selling, which I believe to happen sooner than later. Then we can talk about hope

  3. Holding onto a guy into his 6th season who is this bad of a DH and insisting he’s not a part of the problem and they’ll be meeting their goals next year is much much more the type of crap this organization would do. For some reason, certain of their fans sticking their heads in the ground and defending these weak players is also the kind of crap we hear from this organization and it’s fanbase.

  4. I don't have any hate for Eloy. Disappointment is my biggest feeling. He is not maturing. I know he likes to have fun, which is fine, but he should know when it is time to get serious. Any time now.

  5. I don't know what to think about Renteria and LaRussa having this group of losers play winning baseball for the last 3 seasons. I still don't think managers matter much, but one thing for sure is that we hired probably the biggest dud in baseball managerial history. Grifol is worthless.

  6. I know I’m extremely pessimistic, but where’s the hope for the franchise? Big league team sucks, farm system is awful and a huge payroll deduction is on the way. Outside of the Rockies, Royals and A’s, the Sox have to have the worst looking future for the next 3-4 years

  7. Except that would mean a team finishing #13-17 every season. We're not even approximating that standard...

  8. Let the record show that our entire group of positional players have combined for 1.4 fWAR if you exclude Robert. We rank 26th overall in wRC+. Highlights include: An everyday 1B with a 104 wRC+ An everyday LF with a 103 wRC+ A part time DH/RF with a 76 wRC+ A part time RF with a 35 wRC+ How do you expect to win when you’re forgoing offense at the most critical power positions? And this doesn’t even address the horrors in the middle infield and elsewhere in the lineup. Rick Hahn and the coaching staff should be embarrassed with that his s%*#-show of an offense.

  9. Eloy has a sub .800 OPS. He has a poor, white Sox style approach at the plate, hitting tons of ground balls and swinging wildly outside the zone. This performance is absolutely a problem. It’s not good at all. Atlanta’s backup catcher is outperforming this. We suck because Eloy is not a good DH and he’s a terrible OF. For some reason there is a community of people who accuse anyone of hating Eloy if they don’t imagine that he’s putting up the same numbers that they fantasize he’s putting up. People who say they wouldnt trade him for a top prospect because he might hit 40 homers (he won’t) or who compare him to Frank Thomas. Am I hating on Eloy because I don’t respect it and am angered when people compare him to one of the best hitters I’ve ever seen? Or because I’ve watched baseball and a slow guy grounding into double plays and not doing enough to offset it counts to me as a bad player? Fine, I’ll take that. Call me names and cheer for your 67 win team all you want.

  10. Sheets as well. They were the one who pioneered the use of that pitch recognition machine...iPitch or iDrive or something very similar sounding. Connor McKnight on postgame came across like he was describing Dave Kingman-Pete Incaviglia/Burger in the postgame..."but he generates so much power and excitement when he hits the ball." WHEN being the key part of that sentence.

  11. The inability for Eloy to seemingly go a month without injuring himself and missing games is PART of the issues with this club. I repeat, he could be the second coming of Aaron, Mantle, Musial, Frank Robinson or Mays but I've yet to see a guy able to hit from the bench, a hospital bed or in a walking boot.

  14. Hate this fucking team... outside of maybe 2 or 3 of them I wish they would all go the f*** away and finish the nothing special to shitty mlb careers they are headed for.

  15. Has this been shared yet? Only organization in sports where this is acceptable. The only other one was the other reinsdork franchise and even they fired garpax. This is lunacy. We can’t keep sitting here while this front office degrades and gaslights us. Enough is enough. Time to start a coordinated protest against these people. If this was European soccer these guys would not be safe in their own homes. Time to go.

  16. Reyes has 1200 ABs in MLB with a .264 average. After his rookie year he had 4 years over .250. He would instantly be one of or too 5 hitters. Better than grandal, andrus, sheets, seby, colas, perez, burger.

  17. Cease only throws 94-95 now? And some fans want to keep him unless the Sox get a haul? Why would a team with actual knowledgeable front office execs give up a ton for him?

  18. If we can't justify Gavin in this starting lineup without Vaughn, there's no reason he's on the roster

  19. Even if he’s healthy he isn’t producing. Over the last 3 years combined he has an .801 OPS. For a DH who can’t run and is awful when he plays the field, that’s not good. For $13 million next year? Yuck.

  21. From DVS of the Sun-Times that bear out some real issues with the White Sox. This one shows the numbers of Hahn's rebuild out of "mediocrity": https://chicago.suntimes.com/white-sox/2023/7/20/23802059/flashback-to-birth-of-a-rebuild-white-sox-kopech-defeat-mets-quintana And this one explains how all of a sudden Jake Diekman has gotten very good for the Rays: https://chicago.suntimes.com/2023/7/20/23801857/something-to-be-said-for-change-of-scenery-former-white-sox-jake-diekman-case-in-point

  22. Well it looks like some type of shoulder surgery possibly coming. If he does, then he'll be in good company with Carlos Rodon for like surgeries. This POS FO needs to take most of the blame once again, for thus far ruining Crochet's early major league career.

  24. Yep, Charlotte just lost again 12-9. The Sox minor league pitching doesn't illustrate it's bad....it's illustrates it's downright horrible at all four Sox minor league teams: ERA Charlotte 6.31 20th of 20 teams Birmingham 5.36 7th of 8 teams Winston-Salem 5.44 11th of 12 teams Kann. 4.40 8th of 12 teams Overall team ERA across all four minor teams is 5.61 Thank you Rick Hahn along with your wonderful scouting, drafting and player development coaching in the farm system.

  25. There’s not hate for Jimenez. He seems likable enough. Can hit the ball far in the rare times he’s not injured. He is certainly part of the problem. This board had him a perpetual All Star when they acquired him. Now six years later he’s hurt all the time. Likable guy but not really helping and part of the reason the rebuild did not succeed.

  26. Lance Lynn is the reincarnation of James Shields. Supposed tough guys who suck so bad. They also have a tendency to have the games they pitch be over in the 1st inning.

  31. So much hate for Eloy. The hate would not be there if we were a winning team. We don't suck because of Eloy. We suck because of........ Moncada, andrus, colas/sheets, kopech, most bullpen guys (too many to name) Tim Anderson, Lynn, Vaughn......... ELOY is not the problem. We are blinded. Put ELOY on Tampa or Atlanta and watch what happens Understand baseball and what you see.......you should see a lot of s%*# when u watch white sox baseball........ELOY is not that

  35. this was a decade before I was born but the early 80s Sox is my favorite (non 2005) rendition of the team. Lots of fun players and a much better logo/jerseys.

  36. I think this is dumb. There are too many examples of the Sox failing to use their resources than to spend time in Diekman. You know who was bad before he got to the Sox? Jake Diekman. On the Red Sox! welcome to middle relievers. They are great and horrible. Especially in their 30s. That’s why you don’t take on future salary for zero reason on one. Again - what is reason for success on Touki and Santos and Middleton? We must be geniuses.

  37. The quality of journalism is almost always better when you’re paying for it with a subscription than paying via ppc advertisements. Less rushed clickbait, more thought out and researched. Generally speaking. This doesn’t seem to exist anymore, those publications realized they can charge money and still publish blog posts. See: the athletic. Canceled my subscription after they fired fegan

  38. It's not weird. You're missing my point. I have no problem with someone letting us know about some new prospect ranking or any other valuable Sox news, but it's the part about where a link is posted as if, here is the site and go read the info for yourself. Then you waste time going to the site and it's a pay to see site. I was just suggesting it would be better if posters would state there is an article from a particular site...in this case Baseball America that has two of our Sox prospects moving up on the list. However keep in mind unless your a BA subscriber you won't be able to see it. Having said my stance I really don't give a sh$t going forward and everyone can continue post pay sites and you won't a hear a word from me ever again when they are posted. In hindsight I shouldn't have aired my Pet Peeve about these sites that charge money. It won't happen again. I will just make a mental note to check BA along with the Sun Times, Tribune and The Athletic.

  39. That's fine with me and that's fair. I would suggest though in the future, we don't post articles of websites that the many of people here don't subscribe to. I have plenty of money and if I wanted to subscribe to these various sports sites, I easily could. I don't subscribe to any of them for the pure principle of it. I refuse to pay for sports information I can go search and find at another free sports site.
