  1. I'm so glad I'm not Getz because I have so much Cease trade talk fatigue that I'd just ask for a single crab cake in return at this point.

  2. Orioles board is trying to get more pages on their Cease thread than ours. They've even lowered the post-per-page to 15 posts just so they can catch us. What complete rats.

  5. Disaster zone. Watching every Cease start for an entire first half hoping nothing bad happens (poor performance or injury). Not for the faint of heart.

  6. Windows of contention are so fun....I sure enjoyed ours......

  7. There is zero chance our owner is supporting a four year rebuild. The goal will to be competitive in a s%*# AL Central by 2026 and he will want two pieces in a Cease trade that can help by then.

  8. So the only significant prospect the O’s give up is Cowser and get Cease and Robert ?

  9. Nick Madrigal was a much better college hitter than Steven Kwan. Clearly this means Madrigal will be the superior MLB player...

  10. More negotiating thru the media. Fans don't want Stroman and Hal doesn't want to pay 200m for a 31 year old Snell after they just got burned by Rodon. Jones, Hampton and one more piece in the Top 10-15 area of their system.

  11. Busch is another guy who can’t play defense. Never understood the obsession Sox fans have with him.

  13. Yeah if they don't want to give up Mayo for Cease, they don't want to start the Cease-Robert talks.

  14. Certainly building up quite the collection of cheap, bad OF in Charlotte. I think there's a good chance this is the Opening Day RF. Link

  15. Heavens to betsy they want a pitcher to pitch. Goodness gracious whats next. They're gonna want hitters to hit. Fielders to field. Oh the humanity when is the madness going to stop!

  17. They’re probably out of money thanks to the 15-20 million they’ve wasted on junk already.

  18. if they are not going to trade Cease, then start thinking about putting a team together that can win this pitiful division. Sign another starter and spend money on a right fielder and go from there. i have no faith in Getz getting the job done!!!

  20. Slappy outfielder Steven Kwan has a higher career OPS in the majors (.740) than first baseman Andrew Vaughn (.735). But hey, maybe those college numbers will translate for Vaughn someday…

  29. Wow, dude needs to stop boozing late at night while playing his Xbox. Meanwhile, these same educated fans are ripping every Cease trade offer that is discussed here over on their board.

  30. Think we can get Joey Ortiz from the Orioles in a Robert trade?

  32. I'd much rather take a flier on a guy who can strikeout someone.

  33. If that's there final offer (which it's fine), I would hold out to see if New York puts in an offer with Jones, Hampton and a Lombard/Arias type guy.

  34. Chapman was obviously just one example. I’m sure there were other relievers the Sox could have signed starting in early January before the season started for a matter of a few million to attempt to help try to cover for the loss of Hendriks. Obviously, they wouldn’t have been able to replace Hendriks’ production, but a team trying to truly contend would have more than likely made a move. The Sox? Not so much.

  36. @Rolle Tide has some explaining to do after that joke of a trade idea. Maybe he forgot he wasn't still playing The Show.

  38. @Rolle Tide's trade idea on the O's board Orioles get Cease and Robert Padres get Hays/Mullins, Mountcastle, Urias, and Baumann White Sox …. Cowser, Ortiz, Snelling/Lesko, Zavala, Bradfield Jr., Thorpe, Norby.

  39. Not sure why anyone should care about the BP right now and specifically having Crochet and Kopech in it. Also talking about keeping Cease shows that you are completely out of touch with what's happening with the Sox. There's no emphasis on winning at all. The current goal is to bring in impact young talent by trading Cease. Period. Starting pitchers are potentially worth more than relievers which is precisely why Kopech will be starting with the Sox and Crochet will be stretched out in Charlotte. Hiring Bannister and trying find a way to extract value from the Starting rotation and others so they can be traded because getting more talent into the organization is the main goal. This is a rebuild. That's what you do with rebuilds. There is zero chance they expect to compete. If by some miracle the Sox aren't more than 10 games under. 500 by the deadline that would actually be one of the best case scenarios, only because guys like Kopech, Fedde , Soroka, Moncada and Eloy might be doing well enough to be traded and continue turning over the roster and minors. Of those 5 guys I can practically guarantee 3 or 4 of them won't be here 1 year from today. No one cares about the BP right now except to have enough arms to cover the innings.

  41. I’m surprised how many Sox fans are freaking out about this news. It means relatively nothing, as it’s almost a foregone conclusion another team will have to worry about re-signing him.
