I don't want to see any catchers or 1B in any of these returns. Korey Lee alone is going to be pushing 2 bWAR this season and has proven to be a pretty solid defensive option. With Quero also shining in AA I don't see a need to collect assets at the C position for our marquee trade chips. For 1B, there is a real possibility we draft Cags and we still have Vaughn and Sheets unless they get traded or DFA'd so again no reason to collect assets there as well. That Baltimore trade would be an absolute dream, but there is no way that happens.

Look if you are trying to convince me the Sox called up a 32/33 year old Rafael Ortega with his career major league OPS+ of 86 coming into this year because they thought he could be a trade piece I am 100% going to say there is no way on god's green earth that is true.

The actions speak for themselves. A guy who knew this was going to happen, isn't reaching out to every 37 year old washed up utility player on the market to get them on to the roster for a couple of weeks. Someone who knew this was going to happen just let it play out.

Greg, this position of yours is driving my crazy. WHO CARES IF THEY ARE NEAR .500. That sucks just as bad as what is happening now. Playing .480 baseball gets you s%*#. What matters is putting together a team/organization that has a legit chance to contend NOT JUST for a division but to play with the big boys. From 1981-2006 under JR at least Sox fans had a reasonable chance to see that happen.
