There is no question JR is the problem for the White Sox. But that doesn't mean it ends there. If the White Sox were owned by someone most would say is a good owner, would Chris Getz be the GM? Would Pedro Grifol lasted that long in the dugout? It goes on and on. Yes, JR sucks, but so do all of his suck ups.5 points

This is tough because I'm not a Bernstein fan but I truly hate everything about Barstool and their hosts.4 points

I just went through the first five pages of this thread, and give 99 percent of us a little credit for seeing the iceberg in the ocean that we were cruising toward at 100 mph4 points

I used to think there was a plan for positive direction with this franchise but that is no longer case I feel 100% that this is a completely rudderless ship of ineptitude.4 points

While maybe not the Orioles specifically, as you can see above, there's plenty of so-called garbage "Insider proof" that there were offers available for Fedde better than the 0 players they got back for him if you want to believe that. But, if your whole story relies on "I believe that everything which is leaked has 0 underlying motive and is 100% accurate and I will call you out if you disagree with this so it must be the case", then I have some cats you can eat.4 points

If there is any team that can fix Vargas, it's the White Sox said no one ever.4 points

I don't think they missed anything. I think we're gonna see a very different player come spring training.3 points

Let’s give outfield reps to a true 3B prospect so we can make sure to force the gloveless bust Vargas at 3B. Makes sense.3 points

I love how they talk about these guys "playing hard", but then are sliding stories about how lazy half of these guys are to their preferred leaks. Two faces, all of them.3 points

I get it - there's so much talent everywhere they just can't find spots for all these guys.3 points

I’m just trying not to get my hopes up. I want this record. And I want it to be shattered, if possible.3 points

Thanks for reminding me of my incorrect predictions, @Bob Sacamano!2 points

No one quite envisioned the gaping hole in the hull after the collision, but we at least saw the fucking iceberg! Pity those in charge couldn't see the obvious.2 points

With our luck, JR will appoint LaRussa team President when the season concludes.2 points

You know Getz was in the interview telling JR about how KW and Hahn really screwed this roster up and with better defense the current roster would be much better than 2023 and he probably just ate all that s%*# up. You're absolutely right though. The moves they made, the things they said, there is no way that they went into this season thinking they would even lose 100 games if I had to put money on it. Teams that know they're cooked don't trade a pitching prospect for a 26 year old low ceiling outfielder. Those are the moves that teams like the 2021 White Sox should have been doing when RF was a glaring hole on a "championship" roster.2 points

Guess who LaRussa was working for before JR had to have him back?2 points

Using the same logic they are using here, isn't it time to move Vaughn to CF and get Robert some reps at 1B?2 points

It's also old school gate keeping. He doesn't like Barstool. Eddie didn't do anything to Bernstein, and the station he is employed by decided to bring Eddie in to co-host. He decided to act tough (while Eddie was on a remote btw and not in studio) and put him in an uncomfortable spot, for absolutely no reason other than he's an old cranky asshole. I can be a giant prick to people when I think it's deserved, but there is no way anyone can make a coherent argument that Eddie deserved any of that. Just a shitty thing to do, and quite frankly the heat Bernstein is getting is long overdue2 points

They have Community Relations, Media Relations, and Public Relations teams according to this link: https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/team/front-office But Jerry probably still does what Jerry wants.2 points
-
Deflection. He felt he had to make some sort of statement because the media was asking. So he made sure to release this BS before his team sets the record for futility. Now he gets to avoid the media for when the team actually makes history and the cynicism about him as an owner is at full force. And I doubt Jerry listens to anyone, even his PR team. Jerry does what Jerry wants, which usually makes him look like a clown. But that’s what happens when you have a huge ego.2 points

He can build us a new stadium if he's really that sorry about it.2 points

40 plus years of your bull 💩 Jerry, you are a civic embarrassment to Chicago and the day you no longer own the team will be a celebration long coming for a starved fan base. You will go down in history as one the worst owners organized sports has ever seen.2 points

It’s such a petty s%*# move by Dan, total unforced error. Be professional. he is the voice and big name of that station and he couldn’t act like a fucking adult for a five minute crosstalk because a guy on the other side works with some shitty people. Guess what Dan, North and McNeil also have some shitty takes and tweets in their history and you worked with them for years, and also DAN HIMSELF HAS BEEN SUSPENDED FOR SEXIST TWEETS. for a guy who has a thing about telling people to be professional, he sure didn’t follow his own advice1 point

I’m going to laugh my ass off when Skip Schumacher shuns the White Sox and takes another managerial job. Why would he want to be a part of this mess if he has options?1 point
-
Here you go * Skip Schumaker is a strong candidate with recent managerial experience and potential availability. * A.J. Pierzynski is a familiar face with a strong personality who could bring excitement. * Sergio Santos is a rising star in the coaching ranks with early success. Other potential candidates include John Gibbons and Chris Fetter. Ultimately, the best choice depends on the White Sox's priorities and vision for the future.1 point

Literally in the history of baseball, this has not happened. There are excuses, and then there are fantasies.1 point
