At the end of the day, no matter what the Tories here say, people here love the Sox. They'll enjoy a win at the park because they like going to games and rooting for players that we've grown attached to over the years. We just want Jerry to own an infamous record, especially because he'll always be cited as the reason. The 1899 Spiders were basically made a AAA team. The 1962 Mets were an expansion. The Sox? It's all Jerry and his cronies.

Sizemore is the perfect man for the job. He’s already been here all year so we won’t waste a year with a new guy learning everyone. He’s cheap. He can keep the seat warm while this team is terrible then get Renteria’d when they are good again.

Probably a bunch of things Being tied to a specific location that you call home and/or have pride for. I'll die a Sox fan even though I moved from IL to NC. Nostalgia/memories growing up. Going to games with your dad as a kid, getting autographs, playing backyard ball with friends and imitating your favorite players, etc. You can pick a new team but you don't have a lifelong history invested with them.

Mike Clevinger was brought back by choice and paid a premium over what any other team would pay for the pleasure of it.

To my point, conservatism and Christianity is fine. But you get these guys who are "Christian", but they hate everyone, they might give off good clubhouse vibes, but WTF turns on a guy coming back from cancer? Back in the day, I fought with all the stat heads (not here) who gushed over Grandal's framing stats, and acted like it was the victory of a lifetime when the Sox finally wised up and signed him. They're all awful quiet, now.

This clubhouse is nothing like last years. They're not a bunch of raging assholes they're just a bad team. All the real bad guys are gone and the ones who remain from that disaster will be gone this off season.

That team was great until the second half. They were over .500 but barely. It seems to me, once Tony started really getting his footing, everything started to crumble. Horrible trades...they became an average at best team almost overnight. Were very mediocre the next year, but got some pulse back when Cairo took over. that went away after a bad loss to Cleveland,and they basically gave up.

Grandal is a giant pile of s%*#. That was a god awful signing.

The Spiders had all their good players transfer to another team because their owner owned both, including Cy Young, and they played liked 75% road games. I want this record for Jerry. He's earned it. He ignored all the warning signs.

Screw that. I want the Sox to sweep the angels and then sweep the tigers right out of the playoffs.

I have been all over the place and enjoy nothing more than being stuck in my hometown.

The fans want to see change. Nothing wrong with that We want current ownership to have this crown of failure. He’s spit in our faces for so long. One can argue JR is trolling us.

I was out in Oakland two weeks ago to catch a Friday night game against Detroit. I walked in expecting the worst stadium experience and to have a laugh, but man - those fans were having a blast. I left thinking about how these fans have nothing left to cheer for or show up for, and they're still out there having an awesome time. They deserved better.

Yes, all those people at the Sox game tonight that paid money to see Jerry’s team were trolls, not Sox fans. I was hoping this was your gimmick but it’s far worse. You’re actually for real…. 😳

ehhhhhhh, I wouldn't go that far. If it didn't impact Jerry at all (which none of us know at this point) then all it was just a historically bad season in a long line of very bad seasons for the White Sox.

The only team where fans are so exasperated they're actively rooting for characters like JR TLR and Clevinger to die. And then the egos and smugness of both Williams and Hahn running smack dab right into the daily carnival that was Ozzie and AJ to a lesser extent...simply untenable. To simply be replaced by Sale and Eating and the LaRoches vs. a checked out Ventura. Also. Rick Hahn has seemingly erased his very presence by refusing to acknowledge his part in this whole disaster. He would probably just point the blame to KW and Getz under cutting or betraying him.

The problem is none of that happened.

This should be literally step 2. Jerry going away step 1.

Yep. A couple good players in Neto and Ward. O’Hoppe is fine at catcher. The rest of that lineup is really and their pitching staff is just terrible after trading a couple good bullpen arms they had. And they are starting a career minor leaguer with zero talent at 2b to end this season for some reason lol.

I was there “trolling”. The crowd was overwhelmingly cheering for a loss, but then weirdly cheering when they came back, too. The “sell the team” chants were loud.

That doesn’t change what I said. Sounds like Grammy regrets not whoring it up even more than she did.

In addition to the players, I should mention that Sergio Santos and his staff also deserve a hell of a lot of credit. They lost their entire first half winning rotation (Thorpe, Adams, Iriarte, Bush, Eder), a good chunk of their lineup (Baldwin, Ramos, Elko, Quero...), a few quality pen arms (Coffey, Cousin, AHT, Ellard...), and still managed to win it all. Not easy to find success while juggling integrating waves of new guys, having your best guys promoted away, dealing with midseason injuries, and fighting through a second half slump. And for whatever it's worth, I've seen a few relatives of players specifically shouting out the support they feel like their guys have gotten from Santos and the staff in making adjustments, staying focused, and building a winning environment. LOL, Benintendi was just interviewed and said it was weird that the Sox fans were upset that they won. Hilarious to hear a player admit that. Chuck said the fans wanted to see history.
