  1. No, I said that Prince Fielder was substantially better than Alonso throughout his career, was younger, and was coming off a much better season than Alonso had last year. Alonso getting comparable money even after salary inflation was silly.

  2. I will not be giving Jerry any money until he puts out a product worth supporting and spending my money.

  3. I always knew and thought Hahn was bad at crucial elements of his job. I never thought he was straight up clueless in the way AK is. I’ve never seen someone back themselves into a corner this stupid and also be totally cool with it. He seems extremely stupid in a way I have not seen since…jeeze I don’t have a reference for a sports exec this transparently dumb.

  6. From expected to be ready for ST with no restrictions to this. The usual White Sox injury/surgery reporting result.

  11. He’s had a lot of Ls the last two winters. Bellinger, Snell (he saved face this winter I guess), Jordan Montgomery, Alonso, Kim, Bregman (TBD)

  12. $125 / 27 = $4.63 per game. Weren’t tickets even cheaper off of StubHub right before games last season? 🤣

  14. I’m not suggesting we sign him, my point was more that signing him right now was the definition of insanity and that’s even more true because if we really want him we can wait a year and not be penalized.

  15. I've been missing it since about the time Jerry forced Tony on us.

  16. They should. I feel like I suggested this somewhere (probably in thread about non-rendering Vaughn but don’t really care enough to go back and look)

  17. These guys are legit the worst front office in the sport. Absolute imbeciles if they actually believe that a viable strategy.

  18. I'd actually rather pay to see a Sox game than a Bulls game right now. As an out of stater who is a playoff only fan (as a kid I was a real fan of B-Hawks and Bulls) I have zero interest in watching any part of a current Bulls game. Exceedingly dull. Why is Billy Donovan still there. He could get a job with a real NBA or college team.

  19. Good for him. I hope he and Timmy thrive out there under Ron Washington.

  20. This guy is as delusional as Kenny, Hahn, and Getz. Not at all surprising that both teams owned by Jerry are basically clones.

  21. I refuse to put more money into Jerry’s pockets. He’s a bum.

  22. Don’t forget he also got a $5 million dollar buyout from the Sox. $10 million to be constantly injured and bad sure ain’t a bad deal.

  23. Should have known that they'd pull this s%*# once they got their pick back from the Spurs.

  26. Here’s the problem. The guys that aren’t in the downswing of their career and/or don’t cost a draft pick are like super sought after and cost a s%*# ton of $$$ (Soto, Ohtani, etc). Realistically, the Sox are never going to sign a top 2/3 free agent in any class so we’re left trying to find relative value from the top 10 guys outside of the top few that they can’t afford (or choose not to). Guys like Alonso, Kim, and Santander fit this billing. Yes, you’re going to lose picks. Yes, they’re probably going to spend majority of the contract on the wrong side of 30 but that’s what makes them affordable to a bottom tier franchise like the Sox. In other words, beggars can’t be choosers.

  28. I can’t believe myself, but I’m sort of interested? I mean, I know there’s no way I’d go to anywhere near all 27 games, but I’m still intrigued. Could just be the excitement of watching baseball again (the opponent, not us). I really may end up doing this for the ballpark food alone.

  29. Cowley is reporting that most of AK's calls are laying groundwork for the summer. The fact that AK reportedly turned down multiple offers for Vuc this year cause he held out for more is infuriating.

  32. It's really cheap because you can sit wherever you want. I just don't have interest in that many weekday games that early in the season.

  33. $125/28 games=$4.46 per ticket...minor league prices. It's the parking that will get you haha. And why would anyone want a Charles Comiskey Bobblehead? To deflect attention from JR...?

  34. I’m not excited about the game because of the teams in it, but Philly does have a chance to win, so I’ll watch for that reason. I’m more excited about the food we’ll have instead of the game itself.😂 Italian Hoagies and a rotel dip!

  36. -The core got old, expensive, and injured. -The Hawks didn't draft well drafting from the back of the draft every year. Much easier to draft when you are awful. -They are rebuilding now, with a #1 pick as a feature player. -WTF knows they are good again. Maybe never, maybe soon.

  42. I don't think he's a SS and I don't think he's going to hit. He's a bad athlete with a bad swing and that's a really bad combination. Teams draft athletes because it's easier for athletic bodies to make adjustments than it is for stiff bodies. The changes he has made have not helped him become even close to a productive hitter and he's going to have to make more adjustments as he continues to face better and better pitching that his body likely won't allow him to make.
