2024: 15-41 2025: 18-38 Nobody is blinded here, this team is just as bad as they were last year so far and just because you enjoy watching Meidroth, Vargas, Quero, and Smith doesn't mean you should trick yourself into thinking this is enjoyable. This is still going to be a long miserable season with a lot of bad baseball. I totally understand how there are some more enjoyable things about it, but we don't need to pretend that this team has taken some massive leap from 2024. They haven't.5 points

"They key for Burke is locating his fastball and trying to get ahead of hitters." John, that is all pitcher's key.3 points

Were they not "trying" last year? If not explain all of the veteran signings. Some are so blinded by their own Fox Mulder "I want to believe" that they will buy any line of BS they get fed.3 points

I also need these guys to prove that they're better Eloy, Moncada, Robert, TA, Kopech, Gio and Rodon over an extended period of time. People couldn't wait to jettison those guys, but they all (except probably Kopech) had a minimum of one above average season. Colson is/was supposed to be the cornerstone of this rebuild and most are now crossing him off. Ramos looked like he'd be his running mate. I'd really like to see those two get back in the mix. They aren't good yet. They're showing a pulse. Victory laps are not in order.3 points

its about damn time to cut some of these bums like palacios and capra. They are auto outs. They have never been good and they wont get good here. .228 career hitter and 29 years old. Why is he playing at all? Crapa a .099 career hitter and 29 years old. Please stop this stupidity.2 points

Especially when Rojas is gone after this season. Not sure why Getz wanted him so badly but that $3.5 million is a sunk cost.2 points

I just don’t get not doing everything they can to develop Vargas as full time 3B2 points

Hawk’s nemesis. He treated a game against Cy Chen as if the Sox were facing Verlander in his prime with Detroit.2 points

I think the Bullpen is one of the first areas you can truly see advancements in PD, and it's one reason I'm really down on Getz. It's the easiest place on the field to find undervalued talent. It's the easiest position to convert into success by making singular changes/tweaks and/or converting SP to RP's to maximize. If the Sox can't find any young bullpen arms, why would anyone think they're going to find talent at much more competitive and invested positions?2 points

Which is exactly why EVERYONE involved should have been fired. They were all incompetent.2 points

That's true, no one can succeed in a job when they take over for their boss who sucked Instead of prejudging people maybe give them a chance. If not, enjoy the misery for the next few years.2 points

Some clear measurable changes made prior to that hot stretch. He has a 118 wRC+, and he's on a 3+ WAR pace despite the tough start. The Sox need 3-4 win players desperately, and Vargas is trending in that direction.2 points

Not trading him after 23 and not taking the Reds offer are two big strikes.2 points

Player Development is going great! But also, we don't trust any of the kids to play until we absolutely have to, and will invent roadblocks to ensure it.2 points

Luis Robert has no trade value right now. Even if he's traded, at this point, it's for, at best, salary relief, on a team whose payroll is already been gutted. The White Sox are not getting a top end prospect or even middle of the road prospect unless they pay for salary ( which they don't have a history of doing) or he suddenly becomes amazing in the next 50 games which also seems unlikely given how poor his performance has been for more than a year. White Sox may find a team who is willing to take him and hope he performs better in a winning culture, but trade value is out the door on this return.2 points

@Tomas I do have to say, we hear you. We know how much you hate this team and org. I browsed your posts, and I can see you are very mad lol2 points

And we have to keep reminding ourselves that JR won't have Benintendi off the books until after 2027...when he will have the labor impasse as a spending excuse to maintain a bottom 2-3 payroll. Which means we could still be January 2028 before the next significant Sox FA deal. That's a full 2 1/2 years away. Even the most optimistic fans would agree that five plus years is an incredible amount of time for a dormant franchise to be sleeping on their fanbase after everything totally falling apart in 2022-2023.2 points

You can still enjoy the like, 2-3 potential long term pieces on the MLB roster and want Jerry to wear the worst record of all time crown since that has already happened both can be true.2 points

I sorta want to like this post but at the same time we're still playing like 32% ball and we don't really have any "damn good players". We have a couple guys who might be pretty damn good eventually but for now the best we can really say is we might have some solid regulars. Crochett was a damn good player. Smith is for now a solid 3rd starter. That's what I'm saying.2 points

I really like what we have down in the minors and am pleasantly surprised just how solid Meidroth and Q have been. Vargas has been outstanding the last month and our starting pitching has been good. I am a White Sox fanatic and love the team, but I welcome any diehard Sox fan on this board with positive or negative comments. It has been a very trying and frustrating last couple of years but baby were back !!1 point

Some are so blinded by their own hate that they are cheating themselves out of enjoying the games. What's the difference between hate and "pragmatic realism" based on 45 years of JR ownership? In theory, the first time JR will actually be expected to spend $50-100 million of new money in FA is during the 2027-28 off-season, yes? So we still have 2 1/2 or 3 years left to go before we can make any determination about the success of the rebuild...which is great if you're Chris Getz or Venable. Personally, I enjoy EXCITING players, if they're not capable of winning anything. The closest we have to that now is 2023 Robert and Shane Smith when he's on and not walking the world or hitting every 5-10 batters.1 point

All the spotlight on Colorado simply means there's LESS pressure on Getz and JR to provide a winning product...same thing holds true for Pittsburgh, Miami, etc.1 point

It would be really nice if we hit on both Montgomerys and they can provide 50 HR a year and 100 XBH. We have some table setters and lineup movers, need some boppers.1 point

No, trying to sieze some high moral ground and look down your nose as those who you deem as not good enough fans is what rings hollow. Save your lectures.1 point

I watch a lot of Sox games (unlike some posters...) and have been enjoying some competitive games against good teams. If you don't watch the games and want to just post sarcastic comments about the team, go ahead, but your comments ring hollow. The team has been improving and we have some damn good players and pitchers.1 point
