Was just given some information about a new White Sox book coming out, and no...I had nothing to do with it 😆 Here is the basic information: The official title is "White Sox Redemption - The Road to World Series Victory in 2005." McFarland Publishing. It will be on Amazon, and possibly other locations. I don't have a release date yet but it will be soon. Dan Helpingstine is the author, he has done four or five previous books on the Sox. So you have this book and the Jeff Torborg documentary on You Tube both coming out soon to help get you through the rest of this season.3 points

Good for him. I'm one of the people who does buy into his underlying contact metrics and stuff, so I hope the change of scenery helps.3 points

Courtesy of Chat GPT: You better not watch, You better not cry, You better not cheer, I’m tellin’ you why— The White Sox are letting us down. They’re bootin’ the ball, They’re swingin’ at air, They’re leavin’ the bases loaded out there— The White Sox are letting us down. ⚾ They can’t hit with RISP, man, Their bullpen's full of dread, They say that they’re “rebuilding” But we all know what that meant (they're dead!) So grab your old Sox cap, And throw it in the fire, ‘Cause hoping in August Just makes you a liar— The White Sox are letting us down. 🎶 (Bridge) We’re dreamin’ of ‘05 again, While Jerry’s counting his gold, We’re stuck with this circus, With no one to hold... So don’t check the score, Just spare yourself pain, They'll strand the whole lineup again and again— The White Sox are letting us doooown.3 points

He's 9-4 with a 2.39 ERA and striking out over 11 per 9, leads the league in IP and K's. What is great if that's not lol3 points

I think in any normal circumstances, the organization should have done everything in their power to keep him. He was 25 when they traded him, even in a rebuild, he's someone you should be building around. However, the White Sox don't conduct business in normal ways. I think Getz knew they weren't going to have the resources available to resign him, and my guess is Crochet didn't have much interest in being here long term. And as we sit here today, it looks like Getz did a good job in the return, but we'll see how the guys develop.3 points

honestly i hope he sucks. nothing personal, I just don't like him.3 points

I feel like the same exemption should be made for the Rockies and Sox.3 points

First game I’ve taken my kids to in three years. Not enough ice cream in the world to make this interesting for them.2 points

Meidroth is a rookie adjusting to the league who is also going through a bad BABIP stretch at the moment. If you expected no bumps in the road, I don’t know what to tell you…it’s all part of the development process.2 points

Andrew vaughn with a 3 run HR in 1st AB of Yamamoto. The sox curse continues. I hate that guy but water will find its level2 points

ezwin. Toronto is not that good, their streak of good luck against bad teams like NYY is about to come to an end.2 points

I'm good with them picking Smith. He's been with the team all year and he'll be here after the TDL. He's also a good choice to represent where the Sox are headed and a good choice to represent the the savvy of the new hires since Getz took over. Yeah it not great that his last 4 starts have been pretty bad and it's greatly impacted his ERA but we knew he'd struggle . He's a rookie with very few innings under his belt . He's a project like all of the rookies.2 points

I am once again asking for a lineup that includes all of Colson, Meidroth, Sosa, Vargas, Quero and Teel2 points

So a dude with 17 starts you are ready to write off and trade, but a dude with 160 major league appearances and 112 starts is OK to extend because of 8 starts in his 7th major league season? Sure.2 points

Yobal Rodriguez gave up two runs today,. He's now at 21.1 IP with a 0.84 ERA and 22 strikeouts.2 points

July 7th Update: Crochet - 3.5 season WAR, good for 8th place for WAR for pitchers in 2025 Smith - 0.6 WAR, good for.....way down the list. Don't think Shane Smith will be stealing any votes going from Crochet.2 points

I would rather see the WSox trade Shane Smith than Houser. If a team shows interest in trading for Houser, offer Smith instead.2 points

Yep, should be an exhibition of the best players in the game. I don't understand what good it does that the White Sox have an un-deserving representative that more than likely doesn't even get in the game.2 points

It's such a stupid rule. The All-Star Game should not be a participation trophy. The best of the best should be playing, not "everyone gets an invite!"2 points

I actually do kinda want him to be bad. I also just think soxtalk's belief that playing baseball players in different positions around the diamond destroys them offensively just makes no sense. Gordon Beckham just wasn't good enough offensively. Great defensive 3b though..2 points

He definitely dogged it, but there is zero chance that’s an inside the parker, even if he hustled the entire time.2 points
-
It’s a wild thing to say, that’s like telling a beautiful woman her elbows are too pointy. What’s him being slow got to do with ‘hustle’? One probably might prefer 1.300 OPS to, I dunno, Duke Ellis. It’s also never gonna happen, it’s why I think he won’t last at SS (especially as he gets a bit older), but looks like a perfect third baseman with his arm strength. From Pipeline: Montgomery exhibits below-average speed out of the batter's box but is an average runner once he gets going, albeit not much of a threat to steal. He moves well at shortstop, making plays with a quick first step, good agility for his size, a fine internal clock and solid arm strength.2 points

Then sign another one in the offseason, under no circumstance should you hold on to Mike Tauchman if you get a legit offer for him.1 point

He's a big dude with LONG springy levers. He isn't going to have first step quickness, but once he gets rolling downhill, he can move.1 point

I'm fine with it. I also dislike the "it's stupid every team gets an All-Star" arguments. It's an exhibition to grow interest. As a kid, I'd watch just to see Wilbur Wood throw his one inning and catch a shot of Steve Swisher sitting in the bullpen. That's the point of the game. Exposure.1 point

Congrats to him. Probably would have gone with Houser but theres something to be said about being here all year.1 point
-
If Houser actually "helps" the Cubs and becomes a factor, he's hitting the free agent market in November to cash in. This will not be a Sammy Sosa situation.1 point
-
I mean, f*** the Cubs, but the White Sox are in no position to worry about something this frivolous. If the Cubs have the best offer, you take it and run before they wise up. Taking a lesser return just to not help the Cubs is cutting off your nose to spite your face.1 point

RIP, Bobby We will never forget you, thanks for being a big part of the most fun I have had as a White Sox fan.1 point
