Boston is the right team from what I've heard. Can't share much more than that.5 points

It's not Bello. But I think deep down we all knew that.4 points

If he has a lot of value, I think it would be a great idea. You have plenty in the pipeline to potentially play 2nd.4 points

Maybe they will try to get Cam Booser back.4 points

Who is arguing? I swear some of you dont understand how a forum works. Imagine if every thread led to "agree, thanks for sharing!" Over and over.3 points

That was a very good read and always interesting to get a better understanding of what baseball is looking at and what improvements are trying to be made. I suggest everyone give the article a read, especially for some of our more "veteran" members who are less analytics focused.3 points

They aren't trading one of their core young guys to my knowledge. I also have no idea if a deal is actually close. I just know that they've talked to Boston. I wouldn't really consider it to be major though. The poster earlier could be referencing something else.3 points

With as much pitching still out there really don't understand trading what little we have in value. Still think signing a pitcher is better. Outfield market is way thinner which I could see a trade for.3 points
-
I will say it is refreshing to have an actual debate over two guys that 12 months from now could be in every top 10 ranking. While still have some legitimate young guys and other ranked guys. It beats needing to squint to find an every day player with a positive WAR potential somewhere.3 points

I will fully admit my Baldwin bias isn’t rooted in a lot of hard numbers but for some reason I feel like he is gonna surprise a lot of us3 points

Yes please. Also gold star to myself I haven't been involved yet although it's been tough.3 points

Me and Eddy are fighting an uphill battle amidst an onslaught of disgusted fans and tend to enjoy watching the young guys develop and find peace with that side of baseball. I already know that makes me an outcast among the majority of fans who are unwilling to see progress unless its reflected in the W-L record. I've had mods delete my posts and tell me to piss off. I'll get suspended if I show too much of a backbone so I try not to get into lengthy debates. I'm more hit and run now .They prefer to make fun of the meek posters who dont fight back a lot and are polite thats why the more positive people here don't post more. They get ganged up on. Yet it's the majority playing the victim. The Sox made me this way. I have every right to be pissy about it. They want their cake and to eat too , rule the school and be victims at the same time and silence the ones who push back. It's like a civil rights issue majority vs minority and they say majority rules. Right now the board is dominated by angry fans but its not that way everywhere . I see a lot of good things and so do others . I just hate the High school atmosphere of making fun of people because they dont fight back because youre a jock and they are nerds for being nice. I rule the school crap because I post the most and my opinions are in the majority and just want the rest of you to stfu. I respect Lip and we can disagree on fundamental levels without bickering . Now Lip is in the majority of frustrated fans but there was a time when his politeness made him a target too.3 points

Have a source saying a major trade is being announced today or tomorrow2 points

I'm taking the 45/60 guy over the 25/65 guy every single time. The entire point of Roch being a "quasi generation" type college prospect is that guys his athletic almost never get to college as SS. I really am having a hard time understanding (at this moment) trying to downplay his talent. Now if he lays a damn egg to start the college year sure, but I'll worry about that if it happens.2 points

Reports I've read have Emerson more advanced than Cholowsky was at that age. He is a possibility.2 points
-
and I'm about to go drink my week away. You all have fun tonight I'll keep an eye on my phone.2 points
-
Yeah RF seems like the lock to be rotated through with guys throughout the year. Baldwin and Acuna should be given every opportunity to stick.2 points
-
Baldwin - Acuna - Kelenic is the OF I would like to see work out to start the season.2 points
-
The same stats? Bonemer by a mile. The Big Ten isn't even equal to complex ball and Bonemer will possibly get a shot at AA this year and that's a incredibly tough hitters environment. The majority of pitchers you see in a college season will never play professionally. It's why I'm more skeptical than some when it comes to grading a college player. He might be unreal and he can only dominate the situations he is given, but the difference in competition is so stark.2 points

This is exactly why I am still skeptical about the White Sox going forward. If we are still taking the cheapest way out in key returns, at best you are still prolonging this rebuild, at worst, you aren't going to be able to get to the talent critical mass you need to overtake the division. This apparently has not changed at all.2 points

Please make this s%*# stop. Most here want to discuss White Sox baseball instead of enduring endless bickering and whining. I understand that the mods here don’t want to abuse their power, but at some point action must be taken to protect the quality of the board. I also think some hard discussions must be had with a certain Admin who is consistently involved in the bickering. I’m not looking to pick sides here, but at some point all parties need to be sent to the penalty box if they can’t play nice. And it’s clear as day that playing nice won’t happen on its own.2 points
-
I think you need to separate out the payroll issue. That’s a decision made by Jerry and caps what Getz can accomplish. Under those constraints and understanding the context of where we are at in our rebuild, I’d call the offseason solid. I agree that our level of payroll is an embarrassment and Jerry should be lambasted.2 points

I’d consider that a major trade though and Jimmy claims it wouldn’t be a major deal. Though it makes sense.1 point
-
Just no young-for-old trades. Now it would be insane to do it coming off of 60 wins and unwise to do it almost anytime without a top-tier farm system – but none of that ever stopped his predecessor. In that interview, Getz went on for a while about trusting other GMs – still naive. Boston didn’t ripoff Getz last time, and might be out to remedy that.1 point

What was your motivation in entering it into your public profile? I often click on poster’s profiles to see and read a listing of their recent posts. In any case, stick to the topic please, Ron. Other posters have already mentioned they are sick of the bickering taking up space in threads.1 point

Here are the extra details on his contract… https://www.si.com/mlb/whitesox/onsi/news/white-sox-sign-closer-seranthony-dominguez So the deal is slightly backloaded. He gets $8 million this season — $7 million salary and a $1 million signing bonus. Obviously we don’t know how much the Sox plan on spending, but this would mean that around $11 million is left of the $20 million freed up from trading Robert for Acuna.1 point

Ill put them at 65 wins, so feels like a toss up. Hoping you cash! I like/have Detroit and Milwaukee over 82.5 and I have Jesus Luzardo to win Cy Young at 50-1.1 point

As someone that basically never gets into it with other posters, I’m so tired of every thread ending up with the same cast of characters bickering. I’m not saying anyone is particularly wrong, but I speak for myself when I say I don’t even read what is posted by these posters when I see it’s become a personal argument.1 point

I think you have to stop taking criticisms of the team as a personal affront to your opinion of the team. When i said I don’t see a team thats appreciably better, you didn’t tag me but you basically responded to what I said like I was criticizing you. I wasn’t, it has nothing to do with you, and now we are 4 pages later and you and SS2K5 are having the same argument again.1 point

Eddy, this organization has broken you and yet seduced you into believing them.1 point

Pal, read the quote you're citing. My lord. I'm joking/mocking the money savings, and go on to say it never makes sense, never happens, and isn't a real thing. Have a good rest of the day!1 point
