  1. Yall need to start spelling "Vahn" correctly. I don't want any Andrew Vaughn bad juju in this thread.
  2. Keith Law hated Nick Madrigal. Was the biggest detractor of his profile in the entire industry.
  3. First time the Braves lost the opening two games of a series all year.
  4. Steve Stone on The Score with a couple things he's heard from the clubhouse: Teel expecting to be playing rehab games within 7-10 days Mune feels good, could be on the shorter end of the 4-6 weeks
  5. And that kids is why Roch Cholowsky was the first pick of the draft
  6. Unbelievable! Does the pope seriously have something to do with this season? I'll remain a devil worshipping heathen regardless but I'm starting to wonder haha
  7. Shane Smith returning to his 2025 form at some point would really change the complexion of the rotation.
  8. Martin vs. Sale tonight…should be a great pitching matchup. Which offense will prevail though? The Sox have been one of the best in baseball against LHP, but take a step back with the loss of Murakami. Hopefully we get both Montgomery’s tonight and make it two in a row against the Braves! Let’s fucking go!!
  9. I kinda felt the same way...the Sox are playing great baseball, especially at home. It all matters how a team is playing when you face them. Sox just need to play with the same intensity when they face the 2nd place Guardians. 😎
  10. SS2K5 is in his rocking chair, hitting the ground with his cane as he mutters about how Tony LaRussa ruined everything.
  11. Happy Pride night to all! - Especially @hi8is and @46DidIt !!!
  12. This team has the power of God and anime on their side.
  13. 1st place Chicago White Sox. After the first 2 weeks of the season I didn't think I'd be saying that this year let alone early June. This is awesome.
  14. When Colson, Murakami and Teel are all back it won't even be fair. This is incredible....they are hitting the jackpot on basically all the young position players somehow. Davis Martin just killing it....2 doubles for Braden (@ron883 be praised!!!) and I really liked those couple great defensive plays at the end by Meidroth. Your 1st place Chicago White Sox....you can put it on the booooooooard, yes!
  15. Good call. @Look at Ray Ray Run , I read your post again, and you are just talking about games played, not games caught. @Y2Jimmy0 , since the best catchers do play 140/150 games, why the hesitation on drafting a catcher? You have mentioned they take longer to develop, but is that really true? Davis was taken 1.1 in 2021 and made his debut in 2023. Adley was drafted 1.1 in 2019 and debuted in 2022. Bart was taken 1.2 in 2018 and debuted in 2020. Heck, even Teel (drafted 14 overall) was up in 2025 after being drafted in 2023. I just can’t get on board with not drafting Lackey because he’s a catcher. Normally, yes, you always take a SS, but Lackey even seems like the better athlete.
  16. Liked the move at the time, love it now. Was a "just get this guy off the team" person.
  17. I have watched different angles of that walkoff like 100 times this morning
  18. You’d rather keep Acuna over Grichuk? A guy who is the second worst hitter in baseball and can’t even execute a squeeze instead of the guy who Is one of the best hitters in baseball against LHP?
  19. Dude with the win and a Cleveland loss , the Sox are now 1/2 game out of first place. Win's are numero uno . You don't say go braves ! You put the f*** ups behind you and as long as you're still in the game with this team at home there's a good chance they pull it out. Trust the miracles the Pope is showing you. 😉
  20. These are always the most fun teams to watch, and it’s true in every sport. It’s usually only a few ingredients needed: Team has been bad the last few seasons Get a group of prospects playing together Start winning games/show up a year early to the rebuild The “surprise” season is probably the best type of season there is from an enjoyment level standpoint. Because when the team gets legit “good”, then legit expectations follow. It’s not as fun when they are expected to win, and the loses are more frustrating when you lose to teams you shouldn’t. 2007-2008 Hawks were like that, as they didn’t make the playoffs but you knew that core was primed and ready to go. Cub fans still talk about 2015 being just as memorable as 2016. Year before they were 73-89, then in 2015 they won 97 games and made the NLCS. It’s why while I think the Sox are at least a year away from really being truly competitive, you’d be a fool not to enjoy what’s going on right now. It’s objectively a fun, likeable team with a core that is exciting to think about moving forward.
  21. Have you never heard of the great Howard Ankin? “Injury Law Made Personal.”
  22. Martin’s demise was greatly exaggerated.
  23. Pereira with the start today in RF for Charlotte and went 1/4 with a BB and 2 K. He’s getting closer and closer to being back.
  24. Your first place Chicago White Sox (for now)
  25. It will factor into their calculus. Lots of uneasiness internally about ownership transfer, when it'll happen and who is safe once it does. There's pressure to win. I'd heard like $10 million for Cholowsky and under $9 million for Lackey weeks ago. I don't see the justification for $10 million for Roch right now though. This is just total nonsense. You just choose to place more emphasis on a single college season; which is your right I guess. Here's a blurb from Baseball America. I generally reside here: Cholowsky finished his career as a .329/.448/.624 hitter with 52 home runs and 41 doubles. In the last three college seasons, he’s one of just 30 players to hit at least 45 home runs. His 11.7% strikeout rate over that same time is the best mark of any hitter on that list. It’s that hit/power combination while boasting a slam-dunk shortstop profile that separates Cholowsky from most college prospects, and it’s why he remains the favorite to be the first player off the board—even if both Emerson and Lackey have compelling cases of their own. Them being interested out of high school absolutely matters. There's a track record of interest. They know the player. They know the family. They know his representation. It's a significant factor. My guess now would be Cholowsky for like $9.5-$9.7 millionish. Probably around $9 million for Lackey.
  26. Noteworthy Lackey questions from today's chat. That might be what Ray Ray is referencing? Also here's a bonus fun one.
  27. KLaw liking Gonzalez is something I never thought I’d read
  28. Well, he had mentioned multiple times that the assignment was to talk about the 80s, and how he'd much rather just call a baseball game.
  29. Tanner McDougal, if healthy, will be more immediately effective than both IMO
  30. We got some C tier pitching prospect from Harvard that has some stuff, but is a bit of a project. He hasn’t done well so far (but still time there), but my guess is we end up with nothing for Robert. It’s actually fascinating to think how good this team is positioned right now and we got basically nothing so far out of both the Cease & Robert trades.
  31. Would be better than having to trade for a starter at the deadline for sure. (Shane) Smith coming back and Hagen coming up potentially changes the entire complexion of this rotation.
  32. I also beg of you all to stop calling games over in like the third inning. They always make it at least interesting.
  33. I hope Beni sits against lefties with both Grich and Braden in on most days.
  34. And thankfully, unlike the 2020 White Sox, Venable won't be getting replaced by Ron Gardenhire or Buck Showalter. Loving these vibes right now.
  35. Dear God why did I go to bed lol. should have known better. Goosebumps watching these highlights. Have not yet experienced the Sox like this as an adult fan. Sure is amazing. Love these guys.
  36. The official MLB account has made like 7 posts about the win, including pinning the walkoff to the top of their feed
