  1. Thinking that Roch Cholowsky is maxed out is fucking insane considering what the Sox have done with some hitters of late.
  2. Until he found another restaurant.
  3. Colson Montgomery 1st season : 20th HR in 247th AB Colson Montgomery 2nd season : 20th HR in 254th AB He's the only player in history to hit 20 HR within his 1st 275 AB's in each of his 1st 2 seasons.
  4. The gauntlet is over and we went 6-5. You definitely take that.
  5. you certainly let him start this inning. I'd say first guy on he's gone for Taylor. We can't f*** around.
  6. We never had an SP depth. Not really sure you can consider some failed older prospects, two guys that came into the year with questions as younger prospects, and half a dozen guys recovering from some form of surgery as depth. We had some smoke and mirrors playing bad offenses in colder, bigger parks with some left stranded luck. Now we're playing better offenses in the June heat in smaller parks. We're bottom 1/4 in FIP and xFIP and are 26th in walk rate. I'm sorta glad that the Yankees are smacking the pitching around just to help people understand we're still pretty far away from being a legit good team. We're no longer bad, we're def mediocre, maybe even solid, but we're not good yet.
  7. Great win and one that solid teams pickup to avoid sweeps against the other team's worst starter, even if that's not exactly how we beat them. Best we've seen Burke?!
  8. Just hung with Schriff Dog and Soxchick taking pictures and chatting Lol
  9. There are only two remaining teams in MLB without a loss streak of 4+ this season: the Braves and your first place White Sox. And ATL is on a L3 with Misiorowski up next, so the Sox are well positioned to be the last team standing Such a difference from the last couple seasons
  10. As frustrating as the losses were, I never expected this team to have a winning record in the philly, atl, la, ny gauntlet. That is pretty amazing.
  11. Good job by Burke being the stopper there . needed this game.
  12. Btw i fuckin LOVE leaving Burke in here for the 9th
  13. A big Italian Grand Salami started by Signor Antonacci and finished by Signor Benintendi ! That's a spicy meatball !
  14. I can't wait until they DFA Benintendi, because I hate go ahead grand slams!!!!
  15. 5 scoreless for Mason Adams in his second AAA start. 3 H, 1 BB, 6 K on 71 pitches Definitely looking like someone who can contribute this summer
  16. At Yankee stadium. I'm reminded why I hate the Yankees and their fans
  17. Hope we can steal one tonight and bring a little momentum into the run of al central opponents coming up. If Burke's knuckle curve works we might have a shot
  18. Jerry would approve this move as a cost-saving measure as he wouldn't have to pay full price for the tiny pants Ray wears.
  19. 3 points
Adams has a hell of an opportunity if he can find his form fast. Also helps that his velocity appears to be up a tick since coming back. He could end up being a surprise contributor with all the injuries.
  20. Two things 13 XBH's seems very light in a high school season. The Vahn Lackey love is hilarious to me. We love critiquing Roch's season, yet Lackey has had one good college year and has not hit well with wood at all in any of the summer leagues he has played in. It has to be Roch or Emerson, I would be pissed if they took a one year wonder in Lackey. I don't care about draft savings. Take the better player.
  21. The negativity on this thread blows my mind
  22. Heading to Detroit tomorrow to see the game. Will be nice to have the Sox coming in on a high from winning this game against the bombers.
  23. This was peak sabermetrics aggressive like a playoff game s%*# by Will and Sox tonight. I'm here for it.
  24. Burke with a GREAT outing after the opener.
  25. He should be fired for all the bunting.
  26. This is the sort of game you really need to win if you want to compete for a division title. one of the 60.
  27. Burke has a lot of start to start variation in fastball velo.
  28. Impressed with Burke today at least
  29. I don’t understand why Venable is not filling these umps ears. They seems to be doing everything they can to help the Yankees.
  30. Man we need to get healthy. We're 3 bats short right now.
  31. There’s a pitch clock but no hit yourself in the cock clock?
  32. 420, 384, and 412ft, these aren't porch shots
  33. I said going into the series to just not get swept. Still possible.
  34. If I were a team outside the top 3 picks, I'd be all over Tyler Bell. I think he's going to be a monster.
  35. They will almost certainly extend the lease by a number of years. There is no way without a plan in hand and moving forward TODAY that they could be ready to move by the end of this decade. Guessing that number is somewhere between 3-5 years, depending on the depth of the railroad work that needs to happen.
  36. A large portion of the TIF funds directed to the Fire stadium are going towards building a city-owned parking garage. I would imagine something similar may be done with the Amtrak parcel in order to maximize parking spots in a single space. This would leave more room for a baseball village development :) but unfortunately mean the end of tailgating :( As for your question about Soldier Field, I have no idea. It probably just switches to being a full-time concert/event venue. The Bears only play 8 games there per year anyways, so the city will surely find ways to fill its schedule.
  37. They’re gonna need to fix this home/road problem to be taken more seriously. At home, they’re 24-12 with a +32 run differential. On the road, they’re 14-22 with a -35 run differential. They’re just not a competitive team on the road for whatever reason.
  38. If Colson played for the Yankees, he'd probably hit 100 homeruns in a season. He seemed to barely hit those balls last night that ended up being homeruns. That short porch is ridiculous.
  39. Haven’t watched it at all but I heard it started out like Stranger Things but sputters out quickly. The show to watch is Widow’s Bay. Will likely end up being the best series of the year.
  40. Mune was on pace to hit 40 in ~120 games, so he could theoretically challenge for this record if he returns in good form
  41. The only Sox to hit more HR in ANY 140 game span are Thome (42 from 4/2/2006-9/25/2006) and Quentin (41 from 4/3/2008-4/17/2009)
  42. We’re still in first place boys.
  43. This is the new economic reality in pro sports and something that all professional male sports teams in Chicago except for the Sox are in various stages of getting done. Cubs (done), Bulls/Blackhawks (underway), Fire (underway) and yes eventually the Bears somewhere. Ishbia is still in his 40s and he and his brother are immensely wealthy. He isn't buying the Sox only to keep them at a stadium surrounded by parking lots for the next 30 years. I just hope he hires the best and brightest architects and engineers (people who will closely study what has worked and what hasn't at other MLB parks) to make sure they get the design of any new ballpark right this time.
  44. This is 100% demonstrably false. He 100% went down there and asked for money for a new stadium at the 78. You have zero evidence to back up anything you are saying here, in fact the reporting all centers around Jerry asking for stadium money.
