  1. I petition to ban Ron if the Sox lose today
  2. Yeah, much better to hear JR for the last 45+ years, minus an aberration. Am I right?
  3. If someone has to be sacrificed, it may as well be Ron. Then we can officially retire that awful Chairman of the Board nickname.
  4. I’m more annoyed about how it impacts payroll for next year than this year.
  5. Basically Boston Smith for Castillo. The other two do not matter. I liked Boston Smith but unless Castillo's stuff has severely declined, I don't mind this.
  6. This was just one of those games where pitching dominated, the Sox should not be ashamed, one of the best pitchers in the league beat them along with tough relief pitching. The Sox are going to come back and win the series tomorrow.
  7. Hagen Smith and Wolkow. The Sox won't regret it cause the Angels will absolutely not develop them.
  8. You are a fucking clown…go Stan for Jerry Reinsdorf some more you dolt
  9. Better get used to it. There have been numerous times over the past 40+ years I've been sick of hearing Reinsdorf's name so it evens out.
  10. I'm honestly shocked that people are clutching their pearls over 1. the money and the contracts! and 2. Seranthony has figured it out! It's not our money. I don't care if it costs a little bit more - we have so much more revenue this year from being good, Ishbia is writing checks now, and I don't care if Jerry loses money if it doesn't work out Someone else can be fooled into thinking Seranthony has figured it out. He's due way too much money to walk the first batter of every single relief appearance. This is a low risk move for us. Yes, Boston is a fun prospect to watch but that's the risk of trying to get better now. I like this move up and down.
  11. Hopefully Castillo meets instantly with whoever fixed Hicks I guess
  12. Getz probably thought Castillo can pitch with both hands
  13. I was hoping we could keep Boston; oh well.
  14. It gets us there but I’m not giving up Bonemer for him. No thanks.
  15. I wanted to give some appreciation to this dude. We signed him for a cheap contract, and he pitches his ASS off for us in 2024. Completely exceeds expectations and puts up 4.6 bWAR. Then he nets us fricken Miguel Vargas in a trade. This season we sign him for basically nothing - $1.5mil. he does exactly what he needs to do by reliably eating innings as a 5th starter. He's in line to be worth 1.5-2 bWAR. A complete bargain for what he cost us. We don't always appreciate guys like him. Somebody needs to eat innings though. He has gotten the job done for us at a bargain.
  16. Better not say Boston Smith or the people will riot.
  17. Can't wait to see how much money is deferred in the extension he signs next week to get ahead of the CBA
  18. I’ll be honest…I’d have been way more mad if we dealt Bonemer or Carlson for Detmers for this deal.
  19. This deal didn’t need Boston Smith quite frankly.
  20. I like seeing the club be willing to take on payroll but this seems like a very strange trade for Sox and by strange it seems stupid. That contract is flat out but bad unless we think there is a minor adjustment needed and his stuff is still well above average. In fairness it is one bad season but he is also on older side.
  21. Think some people are looking at the name and not the stuff and results. Castillo was moved out of the rotation at one point this year, and he wasn't happy about it. We did Seattle favor, so just odd we had to give up anything.
  22. 100% agree. How the f*** did Seattle have the leverage to demand a prospect in this deal? Like I said earlier, I could see Castillo for Dominguez straight up maybe, but adding any prospect of value is non sensical from any objective valuation standpoint. The Mariners were literally leaking out Hancock & Kirby as being available to help improve their team and then found a sucker for Castillo and got an actual return no less.
  23. Yeah I don't care the money, he's just not a guy I think you can give a playoff start to at this point in his career and they got a bunch of those guys already. Also think he's in the process of falling off the cliff.
  24. Looking at his numbers a bit more...Castillo has a a 5.37 FIP away from Seattle this year. That's Fedde levels of bad. Unless they think they can fix him, it's hard to justify this trade without getting some money back to cover his salary.
  25. Seattle had to be ecstatic as they needed to clear room as they have two elite arms knocking and they figured he'd be the hardest one to move.
  26. I think we all know how JR functions and there’s not going to be some gigantic spending spree.
  27. I havent seen much a mention of him. It still doesnt make sense to give him up. Castillo is a 33 year old on the decline who is now the highest paid Sox player in history and will take up 25% our payroll. I dont think I would have taken on this contract for 0 prospects
  28. If you took out Boston Smith, maybe the trade would make some sense. I can’t fathom how taking on a worse contract than the one we gave up required us to give up a legitimate prospect. I don’t even have words honestly.
  29. When right, Castillo is a bonafied ace. Probably needs change of scenery
  30. Trading for an all star 5 years ago is the Sox sweet spot
  31. This year in 17 starts is literally his only "off" year. Hard to say he's washed yet. I'm good with this. Last year was a solid 2.3 WAR season, 11-8 with a 3.54 ERA, 162Ks and a 1.18 WHIP. Coop will fix him! Lol.
  32. A positive outing for Schultz too. Get em tomorrow
  33. Can we at least make this loss meaningful and ban him yet?
  34. While the offense hasn’t shown up for much of f*** all today - you can’t deny that what we’ve seen from Schultz has been very promising. Love seeing the Bulldog in him coming out.
  35. They really should not be counting on Teel for much.
  36. Honestly that was your least funny post Ron. Kinda bullshit and I wouldn’t do that on your streak
  37. Your first place Chicago White Sox flew in after a hard fought series against the #2 AL team to face the #1 AL team with a league best .714 win rate at home...they head back to the hotel tonight matching their season high of 7 games over! Fedde continued his run of quality production. Since June 1, he's pitching to a 2.76 ERA over 49 innings. The team in 9-2 in his 11 appearances over that time. Schweitzer also had another good night. He has a stellar 1.45 ERA since June, putting up zeroes in all but 1 of his 7 appearances (6 of those for multiple innings). Meanwhile Vargas, Mune, Colson, and Beni all went yard against a very good arm in Nick Martinez. 6 ER ties his season high, only the 2nd time this season he's allowed multiple homers or over 3 ER in 21 starts. Had a good feeling about this one when I saw this earlier: Hosting a Harry Potter night when the magic-fueled Sox come to visit? They were asking for it.
  38. it was a very old tweet, someone just bumped and I thought it was new
  39. The two failed challenges back to back were a very bad joke.
  40. Yeah but isn’t it fun making fun of the Twins?
  41. 7 games over .500 and 3 games up in the division are both high water marks. Everything's coming up Milhouse.
