I am requesting that start times be included in game threads. It used to be standard.11 points

I ask again, why is there such a vocal segment of posters who think Collins is so bad at catching that he can't even get a game here and there? Aside from his form on that wild pitch in the first inning, he looked fine back there, called a clean game, and even stole a few key strikes. Not sure why he can't be penciled in as our backup catcher next year7 points

For a guy drafted where he was and all the hard work he has obviously put in, he should enjoy every second and how ever he wants.5 points

Someone here had to make this right? This pops into my brain every time there's a bullpen meltdown. Then I watch it and laugh. Still great after all these years. But I seriously want to thank whoever made this.4 points

Yea, La Pantera, awesome nickname. LuBob sounds like a fucking used tractor salesman in Arkansas.4 points

LuBob is almost as bad of a nickname as HoT FiRe or where ever the random caps were.4 points

Makes sense, I just couldn't tell if you were trying to imply that Eloy will remain like this forever. I'm still quite optimistic that he has a 6-7 year run of .300/.350/.580 kind of years. Hope your week gets better4 points

As I said in another post, I am very comfortable with him as a catcher. He makes a great option to have.3 points

He's going to be our backup catcher. I would love to keep McCann but he wants to be a teams primary catcher and someone will pay him to be so. If Dunning is staying in the rotation, make Collins his personal catcher for the rest of this season imho.3 points

If Hawk Harrelson can go his entire career without uttering a slur into his mic, anyone should be capable of doing so. No excuses!3 points

LuBob is currently eating 25 hotdogs before rolling in mud in Northern Alabama. I'm sure he appreciates your concern.3 points

LuBob is Top 5 worst nicknames. Top 1 when you realize the alternative and preferred nickname by the player is La Pantera, which is cool.3 points

It’s amazing how any controversial happening or loss is a total indictment of Ricky, but any wins or personal growth people STFU or fish around for ways it happened DESPITE Ricky. Let the hate flow through you!3 points

The Happy Medium was to get this under control in the spring nationwide before the virus became endemic and out of control everywhere. Then, if a school district was in an area with a flare-up, that specific school district could shut down/go virtual for a limited time until the outbreak was under control. It would still have required herculean efforts to limit cases coming through the doors and limit spread when they do, but it could have been done. When you're driving towards a cliff, a happy medium is "turning off at any point before you go over the cliff". Once you have gone over the cliff, it's too late to ask for a happy medium.3 points

They certainly helped, but I always like to think the player is the one who put the work in. This team in general is a glowing endorsement for the new drafting and PD team, even though some Sox fans would never admit that: Mendick Anderson Engel Burdi Foster Heuer Marshall Robert Collins Cease Dunning now It's hard to argue with the PD being trash anymore.3 points

Stone, "It's about time" as they come back from commercial. God I hope he has the ear of someone in the FO to get rid of this utterly shitty manager we have to witness day in and day out.2 points

Stone kept pounding the table for "Dunning is getting tired" and again it felt like it was not only obvious but it felt like it was taking shots at Renteria for not seeing it2 points

What is Mazara doing? My goodness man. Why does this keep happening. We got benched for making the 1st or 3rd out at 3rd at pretty much every level. SMH2 points

TA’s right here. Absolutely ridiculous his manager wont support tatis here. Maybe he’ll demand a trade back to the white sox!2 points

Yikes. If you want me to make it simpler I will: an eloy that slashes 250/310/550 is functionally equivalent to what Avi contributed. Man I swear some of you guys try and play "gotchas" when it's you getting got. My point of course of the Fangraphs "trade value" column, and I've made this for awhile is that projected WAR is not at all how MLB GMs evaluate trades. It's a component sure, but it's not even close to the main one, and it's almost ALL FGs uses in their rankings. Look at the fat, out of shape and sloppy and oh by the way isn't hitting Vlad Jr and tell me he's more valuable at this moment than TA around MLB. With a straight face? Come on fangraphs.2 points

Terrific analysis, Ray. Thanks. Adding those abilities and pure smarts in the box with his leadership makes him invaluable to the White Sox. Like either Steve or Jason said last night, it is no coincidence that the team starting winning again when TA was back in the lineup.2 points

I said last night two things really stuck out to me; 1. Anderson moved his feet in every single at bat; sometimes pitch to pitch based on the count. That is understanding how you're being attacked and pitched on another level. Most guys aren't moving around that much in the box. 2. The home run he hit; I went back and watched it frame to frame. Anderson didn't even move his hands towards the zone until the ball was 6-12 inches in front of the plate. That's hand speed you just don't see everyday; it's truly remarkable. It's hard to see, but look at the still below: He doesn't even bring his hands and bat forward until the pitch is basically over the plate. There are probably only 5 guys in the game who can react that late; which is exactly why he dominates now. He sits on off speed the entire game and reacts to fastballs because his hands are so quick. Almost no one else can do that; that's why he crushes off-speed stuff.2 points

I don’t even live in Chicago anymore, but that would be awesome. The Sox deserve to be on a dedicated-sports station.2 points

The idea is that Eloy/Abreu are hitting the ball hard, but it doesn't yield as many results because lower launch angles mean more ground balls. Objectively, ground ball hitters have less success than line drive/fly ball hitters, for the most part. I'm not worried about it with Eloy, however, as even despite the low launch angle, all of his underlying stats are very encouraging. Even with his impressive numbers, he has been unlucky this year2 points
