  1. Put me on record — this is stupid. Offense-starved team refuses to give a shake to a young cost-controlled player who can hit a little bit. Maybe the skeletons will suddenly fall out of the closet to make this make more sense but to me this is just Getz not liking Sosa's game on an aesthetic level and feeling unwilling to figure out how to use him.
  2. Gotta love Soxtalk. A post about two minor leaguers colliding in the outfield is seen as some dramatic grand big picture indictment of the organization and somehow related to the Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets.
  3. Because of a detestable owner who hired an inexperienced guy for GM who hired a rookie manager who doesn’t have clue.
  4. If you won’t allow yourself to get excited about Schultz because of those reasons, I truly don’t understand the point of following the Sox at all right now.
  5. This seems like an absurdly stupid trade that I can't see the vision on from any angle.
  6. Started reading through this thread and rolled my eyes so many times. Caufield posting nonsense and ownership blaming.
  7. This is laughable. Sox fans pissed because the team sucks. More like Cubs fans? You're just like Cubs fans. Results don't matter to you. 3 100 loss seasons in a row when we were promised being in a multiple championship window. How dare White Sox fans be upset.
  8. For those of you playing at home, the probable pitchers for today's contest are: Matz vs Leasure With Reese McGuire warming up in the parking lot
  9. Cant get rid of a versatile switch hitter like that just because of a bad first couple weeks.
  10. I’ll give Sosa this. He was good at going back on a pop up that we’ve seen baffle some 2Bs. And he could hit a little. Fielding in general? Not as bad as you guys are making it sound.
  11. It is absolutely absurd that you can see what has happened in Phoenix with his families investment in the Suns, including a WILD spending spree, and already be attempting to speak in absolute certainty about something like this, especially since the whisper was that the Murakami signing was because of Ishbia's checkbook. This whole argument is patently absurd when you look at the current 45 year long owner of the White Sox and realize that he LITERALLY used OPM to purchase the White Sox, has never been a majority owner of the White Sox, and it's never been HIS cash that did anything for this team in anything but a minority sense of the word. Jerry's wealth was built by pooling other people's money into real estate investments, including the CHICAGO WHITE SOX! Jerry is the definition of private equity. He came closer than any owner in the history of Chicago came to moving this franchise out of Chicago, and has literally stomped this original AL franchise into the lowest earning franchise IN ALL OF MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL. Ishbia doesn't have to be better than every other owner, he just has to be better than Jerry to seriously improve the status of this once proud franchise. Literally every nutjob fear tactic you keep using to try to scare people about Ishbia, HAS ALREADY HAPPENED! If you want the team to succeed, you should recognize this. It's like Roy Kohn is your ghostwriter using the old "accuse everyone else of whatever it is you are doing" tactic.
  12. Here is the thing. We all root for the Chicago White Sox. In most cases, your fandom is passed down from a parent, family member or friend. OP references his son, following in his footsteps. When you root for a team, you aren’t rooting for the owner. Jerry Reinsdorf isn’t the White Sox. When he dies, the White Sox don’t go with him. Now, that man has caused an incredible amount of frustration for us and deserves every ounce of vitriol thrown his way. He is a stain on Chicago sports and should be embarrassed of his ownership run. But he isn’t why I root for the White Sox, nor will it ever be. I root for them because I had White Sox wallpaper as a 4 year old, and I’ve got about 400 ticket stubs in a box from 1999-2020, and I’d guess a little more than half of those games, I was with my dad. Things suck right now. They are going to continue to suck until Jerry dies. Giving a second thought about a Brooks Baldwin injury or where Andrew Benintendi is batting in the lineup is a waste of time, because none of it matters right now. All we can do is hope that new ownership actually has even the faintest interest in actually winning, and things will be feel a lot better as a Sox fan. Until then…spend your time doing literally anything else.
  13. Sox fans are obsessed with service time manipulation. Play your best 25, period.

Who was playing out of position? It's the minors. He is learning a new position.
  15. 4 points
They absolutely do not have a lot of good players
  16. Funny that the team beating up on the Sox the last two nights actually has a lower payroll for this year, as do Cleveland and Miami. Two of those teams have a winning record and the third team is just one game under .500. Proof that you can compete with a low payroll, but you have to know what you are doing.
  17. This situation appears to me that nobody is being held accountable for this situation. I'm really starting to wonder about this Whits Sox manager. Last night Everson Pereira hit a home run. Tonight he didn't play. Wouldn't you want somebody in your lineup who just hit a home run? Yet he keeps running out Acuna who has been useless. I noticed at the end of the game the manager was laughing about something. I don't think this game was anything to laugh about. This is a terrible situation this team is in.There doesn't appear to be any light at the end of the tunnel. And it seems like the people running this don't care.
  18. All the waiver-wire deals Getz does with Tampa, only to his team flummoxed by Getz waivee Scholtens. Running a baseball organization just isn't his bag. Getz just isn't good at this.
  19. That bottom 3 and then Beni is probably the worst 4 consecutive hitters in Sox history. I'm starting to think this team is less talented than the 2024 team Might not lose more, but they are less talented.
  20. Sox need to put Antonacci at 2nd and leave him there. Miedroth is not a big league player and Antonacci is not an OF. They need to stop moving everyone around. I'm tired of having an OF full of infielders. You want outfielders start drafting and developing some.
  21. So you're saying the move is actually "No, MORE Benintendi!"
  22. 4 points
Every minute of time left with Jerry is an eternity. GTFO. NOW!
  23. Acuna is proof that Getz can’t identify talent for s%*#.
  24. Say what you want about Getz but he is consistant, he traded Cease, Robert Jr, and now Sosa and received nothing in return.
  25. The fact that there are any of you bemoaning the loss of Sosa shows you just how low the bar as been set for the Sox.
  26. Dumbest s%*# possible. Benentendi still here. Sosa should have been the full time DH. He will mash in that lineup. Getz proving to be worse than Hahn and that's saying a lot
  27. if someone asked me, would you rather have benintendi + low floor/low ceiling HS OF plus PTBNL OR Sosa, DFA benintendi, replace him with random AAAA dregs I would pick the 2nd option
  28. Meidroth hasn’t done much in almost 600 plate appearances to prove he should be a starting major league 2B. Perhaps the move should be for Antonacci to start at 2B and Meidroth move to backup infielder?
  29. I would have shied away from trading for jockeys.

Please post more things like this.
  31. This isn’t sad, my friend, this is awesome!!!
  32. You could have a low payroll with way more talent than what he’s acquired
  33. Having an extra year of team control would have been meaningful for... 1 prospect the Sox have promoted in the last decade? Cease definitely fetches more in a trade had that been true for him. It wouldn't have mattered for anyone else and I'm on high Antonacci but he's not exactly Konnor Griffin. Even for *this* organization manipulating Sam Antonacci's service time is embarrassing.
  34. This is a bit ridiculous. When your stats are disgusting to begin with, how much better can they get the next season? Regardless, Getz has the top pick and if he doesn’t get the best player in the next draft, he will have failed.
  35. You know how the longer a discussion goes on, the probability increases that it will inevitably turn into a discussion about Hitler? Soxtalk is kinda like that except Getz is Hitler and it doesn’t take very long.
  36. The original title was also Berongtolla, so we have it all.
  37. Heard Ishbia was about to cancel the buy right after reading soxtalk but thankfully a white knight rode in and saved the day!
  38. Yeah, exactly. Not everyone has to have the same levels of optimism/pessimism. We all want the same thing in the end. The only thing that bugs me is the completely unreasonable, hyperbolic posts. It’s just frustratingly immature and ruins any chance at actual discussion.
  39. The fact you mentioned Patrick Williams as a bench piece and potentially good basketball team in the same post... no disrespect but put down the kool-aid.
  40. You can ignore a user’s posts, but you can’t ignore them resurrecting threads from 8 months ago for some reason. What a world.
