  1. If you didn't hate WSD before, his failure to use a "Katz out of the bag" joke here should finally convince you. Absolute incompetence.

  2. When Tony took a stand on kneeling, and then his dopy comment about being the judge on sincerity of the protest, he presented himself as holier than thou. That is BS but tolerable. Now he looks like a joke and every stance and position he had taken previously makes him look more foolish because of his disingenuous attitude. This is why he needs to go, he is simply put, a dick. He will be unable to lead the players and will become a shadow puppet. What makes matters worse is that we all know that Hahn is not behind this move and the team has gone silent. Had there have been good sales pitch and some rationale atonement for previous idiotic remarks I and I think the fans would be ok. When Renteria was fired there was a very clear message sent. Since that day the whole message as circled and went down the drain. Go get Bochy or Alomar and repair this thing. This is old white guy stuff at its finest.

  3. Ah, so it isn't "sox will spend more" with larussa, it's "sox will be desperate for immediate upgrades but not with money so they will trade prospects for short term deals, and then next year they will also not have more budget so they will then be trading for Mike Leake and acting like they are world series contenders" Phew!

  4. Are you fucking kidding me with this bullshit? Do you remember Trump, three years ago, REFUSING TO HELP PUERTO RICO WHEN LIKE 80% OF THE POPULATION HAD NO POWER? How about when he drew a fucking sharpie on a weather map so he could be right about a hurricane path that he was fucking wrong about, only to turn around and blame someone else. Bush declaring brownie was doing a great job when New Orleans was under water and tens of thousands of people were being bussed out and dropped in various locations with a gift card and good bye? Yea it's always a country unifying event when a hurricane rolls through. Hey how about when California is on fucking fire and Trump is refusing to send them critical federal aid because he knows it's a blue state.

  6. Lynn for Grandal. Texas gets better and it looks like they are not going to go full rebuild. Sox can go after Realmuto and Springer with McCann as a backup plan. Definitely don't want to trade Stiever. I am okay with trading Dunning but I think Stiever is the biggest overachiever candidate in the group and i am least worried about him heathwise. Good chance he turns into an MLB #3 or better. I'd almost rather trade Cease but I still dont want to trade Cease. Lets just throw the most money at Bauer (I know it wont happen).

  7. Hire Sam Fuld as bench coach and let him manage the clubhouse. We’re stuck with La Russa as our in-game decision maker for better or worse, but let’s limit his interactions with the actual players and perhaps his risk is reduced.

  8. Some people don't know how to drive drunk. Tony is a HOFer. He's legit. He knows.

  9. A year of Lynn for six years of Madrigal is a terrible deal.

  11. Here is the connection you aren't making. If Jerry is willing to support his drunken friend over middle class workers trying to make a living, that tells me I made the right decision.

  12. Give Tony a spot at the end of the bench with a clear view to the sky. Hand him an Old Style and let him yell at the clouds.

  13. Ha he did Cooper's job for him 2 years ago and now he's got Cooper's job!

  14. I broke down and actually sent an email. The taunting of the sox fans with the staying silent and hiding behind not commenting until it plays out as if they are a party in the case is such a slap in the face.

  16. Underneath it all, Dave is just worried about his sources and is perfectly willing to play his roll as a servant boy to Jerry to keep at it. NO surprise there. This reads like Brooks and Scott wrote this for him.

  17. who cares if it's fake or not, it's throwing out names that are players in baseball and we can discuss whether we'd want them, would trade for them, etc. There isn't anything else going on beside our manager risking people's lives. Fake insiders >> TLR.

  18. It's anecdotal Greg, and the actual result after these tragedies shows that your point is largely trash. honestly I'm fucking done with your bullshit and dragging threads down with your pretend aw shucks shit. I will swear all I want because this is, down to its core, bullshit. This country is pitted against each other because of actual fake news, you fall for it hook line and sinker every damn time and then come here asking us all why we disagree. You do zero research, your points are anecdotal at best. im just done with you. I didn't weirdly freak out on you, I told you your point sucked and in fact it is wrong. One guy with a fishing boat doesn't change a damn thing

  20. You've somehow let a Billionaire owner convince you that he has no autonomy, no free will, no choice in this matter. He does. If fans put enough pressure on sponsors, they'll tell him the Larussa is bad for business right now, so they are terminating the deal until he's gone or until a couple of years go by and it all blows over. He then has a choice, a legitimate choice with a glaringly obvious answer - fire larussa or suffer revenue losses. If he CHOOSES to take losses (a stupid, selfish, and irrational choice) and then CHOOSES to fire every other employee except Larussa, that is on HIM, and only him! Your argument is like saying we can't put someone in jail because their innocent family will starve to death if they choose not to work. Your argument is like telling someone who got sucker punched not to fight back or its their fault that they got in a fight. Your argument is exactly the same one billionaires use (and spend millions on amplifying) to paint workers going on strike as the villains. Its bullshit, its bootlicking, and, unless you are a Billionaire yourself, its counterproductive to your own success.

  21. I'm sorry your boss sucks and is putting his personal agenda before the well being of the team and those in its employ? What should I say? That I'll blindly support an owner that is tacitly endorsing his buddy's dangerous and negligent behavior with my own ordinary middle class dollars? I acknowledge your argument and recognize the points you are making, but I'll ask you again, what should we fans do? Do we Just take it? Just keep on keeping on? Just blindly and silently drudge on ashamed of the team we all love?

  22. Let's be honest guys. Most of us here who wrote in to the Sox to call for TLR's termination, did so because he is a terrible fit for the Sox right now and we should have had a younger more modern choice with more current experience. His 2nd DUI might have put us over the top, but that isn't the primary reason for the outrage. With that in mind, the whole contacting the sponsorships thing is a little over the top.

  29. I like Madrigal. More than most I reckon. But if it comes down to trading Madrigal or Vaughn for a controlled piece, I'm sending out Nick in a split second. Vaughn's offensive profile is sorely needed in the White Sox lineup. He just fits so well.

  33. If you can’t get Bauer then I fully agree. Go with the best possible lineup and add two B & C tier starters in free agency. Springer + Kluber + Quintana for example would be fine by me.

  35. Stay. He might have only 1 championship, but a 2nd is arriving shortly. He’s fostered a personable, family-like environment where everyone knows everyone top-to-bottom. Former players enjoy it so much they return often. His biggest mistake was 35 years ago, but he‘s humble enough to correct it 35 years later when most billionaires would never admit a mistake. His relationship skills are second to none. I envy his and Tony’s friendship and it’s my goal to build a friendship that special one day. The fairytale ending of a lifetime is coming in an October or two, and will be a huge storyline when Ken Burns films his 2020s documentary.

  36. Thanks for linking. Very emotional. I have family in Cuba, never seen my grandparents alive. It’s incredibly difficult to leave people you love with a strong chance you’ll never see them again. Jose hit his forehead at the end, very mixed emotions for him, bittersweet. Hope he can one day find peace and reunite with his parents and family.

  37. It would be nice if Tony's actions had consequences. Sincere, legit consequences, brother. Don't embarrass him. As a privileged multimillionaire, I suspect he will get off pretty easy.

  39. I remember a story from my childhood. A local businessman who owned a small convenience store ran for some office. He was stupid enough to vote for himself twice by going to a precinct outside of his home. One day, as he stood behind the counter, two nice police officers came in and arrested him. He didn't do any serious time, but his reputation took a beating. So, throwing away ballots, or committing similar actions carry a risk. It is a risk I wouldn't be willing to take. Finally, Donald Trump has been president for four years. Why didn't he put forward at least some suggestions on cleaning up what he thinks is a corrupt system? Because it is easier to moan and complain than it is to actually do something. Case in point: Coming up with an alternative to Obamacare. Never happened. Never will happen. Biden has won. Time for Trump to get indicted and go to prison for a variety of crimes. Time for his hardcore supporters to realize they have been duped. It's not the system, it's Trump.

  43. Yes. There is a reason why I didn’t support the Washington Football Club, why I no longer say the name of the Cleveland Baseball club, and why I won’t ever consider supporting the Cubs under the ownership of the Ricketts. They all have employees. I can find better uses of my money than to support liars and racists, and if the White Sox want to be in that group I have every right to make choices with my time and money and you don’t get to use their employees as a shield for those choices.

  44. I'm still going to support the team. The Sox have a product that I buy just like Amazon, USAA, my mortgage company, my brokerage house, Ford, Titleist, and all the other companies I buy from. I still watch reruns of Two and a Half Men and Kelsey Grammar stuff. That's my choice. I don't think there is a business out there of any size that hasn't had an employee with a DUI. It shouldn't matter who in the organization had the DUI. A line cook at Denny's is as dangerous driving drunk as a baseball executive. I'll let the courts determine the punishment. If convicted I hope the punishment is severe based on it being a second conviction. But I'm still watching and following the team. I'm also not going to drive away sponsors who may never come back. That is punishing innocent people in the organization who worked hard to sell those sponsors and who don't deserve to have their livelihood in jeopardy because TLR and JR made a bad decision.
