You don't get to play this card, you are the one that brought your unsolicited opinions to the board and you are the intolerant one on the board. My best friend is homosexual and I trust him with my life and I would appreciate if you would keep your incredibly wrong and hateful opinions to yourself for the entirety of your continued membership to this site.8 points

disciplined? The ump union will probably want to give him a raise. their response to the machado ejection was bush league. right now one of the biggest problems in MLB is the ump's union and I'm more often than not a union guy.4 points

Tilson is the better player. I love how they keep trotting Cordell out for matchups when he can't hit RHP or LHP.2 points

Sorry bro, but tolerating hatred is not an acceptable form of tolerance.2 points

You all attack me because I believe same sex marriage and homosexuality is a sin. You preach tolerance but you are the most intolerant of all.2 points

I forgot about Jon Jay: The Phantom Menace Like the movie, he's definitely the worst and there's no plot or hero worth rooting for2 points

I prefer the ejector mound where he gets shot into the air and lands on a cushion in the bullpen.1 point

Yeah, I don't like the way Law acts publicly sometimes but when he's talking baseball he's a great evaluate. In the past, he was off with his analysis on pitchers but It seems like he has evolved away from bucketing pitchers based on their mechanics. I do have some doubt with his draft reporting because a lot of people don't like him but in terms of just evaluating players - with consideration for of his knowledge operations/labor/etc. - he may be the best.1 point

Umpiring is obsolete. Their job is obsolete. They can have a group of schmos in a war room in NYC make all of the calls in real time, with gameday and live video. MLB can tell the Umps to fuck off or they'll all lose their jobs. Either go along with this route and be the schmos, or we will find someone else to do it. I'm 100% a union guy, but times change and as long as they offer these guys the opportunity to run the war room I have no problems with it. If they want to have the guys travel still, they can have a booth at each ballpark.1 point

This shit again? Plenty of other teams have used the exact same ploy to get what they want, and succeeded. It not new or unique . The Sox are in Chicago, they will be for the foreseeable future1 point

Just to clarify. The sox were never "close" to moving there. It was never anything more than a bargaining chip. It's amazing how many took that threat seriously.1 point

28.15% strikeout rate - 13th in total strikeouts for all of MLB which is nice to see him come down from the most or one of the most. This has been an "A" season for Moncada. I never would have dreamed he could hit for this high of an average / OPS over an entire half of a season. I was thinking .270/.820ish this year. Yoan is my favorite Sox player, and the advanced stats look good and look like this is for real, but it's still too early to tell what type of total package he'll be with the sample size.1 point

Jay is hitting .325 in 40 ABs in AAA. What are they waiting for?1 point

Chuck Tanner has the managerial record for consecutive last place finishes. Obviously, the better the roster, the better the manager. Bad players make smart moves not work. Good players make bad decisions work out. Good players win, bad players don't.1 point

Kyyle has proven my point in his last post. SI1020, Im happy to stick with baseball and that is what I was doing until they started to negatively comment on my faith for no reason but to silence me and comments I made on a thread months ago. I get it though, everyone is a little on edge after the Cubs had us whipped up.1 point

Big time. Just looked up his stats. Any idea where he is starting this year?1 point

I actually can’t remember how to spell his name, but I’ve been following this outfielder from AA. It’s like Luey Robertson, or something like that. Seems to have great speed, but also hits for power. Plays center field.1 point

Nah. Just cause we've had some nice wins this year doesn't mean we have a good team. I think most all of us on here would need to make 3-4 acquisitions to get this team to play .580 or .600 ball. Right now we are a .480 to a .425 type team, not a .500 team.1 point

I'm not that worried. His stuff is still there. His velocity is still there. His fastball command has escaped him the past couple starts. I'd rather see him go through this weird funk in the minors, fix it and come up with confidence when he reaches the majors. Kopech had a more extended, more worrying funk in AAA before going on a dominant stretch. I don't think Cease is hurt and I don't think he has the yips or anything (like Hansen possibly does), so I think he'll be fine.1 point

Traditionally, the power hitter bats 3rd, but in reality, the fourth and 5th hitter are more likely to be at bat with more people on base. The 3 slot is severely overvalued in today's game. There is a very high chance the 3 slot comes up to bat with no one on. The 5, on the other hand, has a better opportunity to bat with people on base. The math is a little tricky, but it works out. Want to get really fun? All this discussion only talks about the first inning. There is another school of though which says "get your best player to bat the most". In that case, the leadoff man and the 2 spot should be your best all-around hitters, because once the first inning is over, the leadoff man doesn't necessarily lead off anymore. That's when things get really fun. 1/2 spot should be guys who get on base, 4-6 more power.1 point
-
You already have Madrigal coming up soon to handle 2nd base for the next 10 years. Forget spending money on what we don't need and spend it on pitching and right field.1 point

I'm probably in batshit crazy PlayStation mode here, but a couple bullet points.... Moncada is the best hitter on the team and should hit 3rd. Abreu isn't a 3 hitter. F$%& pride. He is a power bat in decline, and should bat cleanup. Eloy is at his ceiling a prototypical 5 hitter on a great offensive team. We don't have a prototype OBP/Speed leadoff hitter, Anderson needs as many ABs as he can get so he can have the most impact for the team. So... Anderson McCann Moncada Abreu Eloy Everyone else on the team is replacement level or below so who cares who hits where after the 5-hole. I'm gonna go back to my day job now and stop with the armchair baseball managing.1 point
