This offseason is a complete failure. I'm done with this team. Fuck everybody.15 points

Alright, so lets add up the total in 2022 owed to Hendricks, Kimbrel and Graveman real quick....10 points

Stop, we’re supposed to be mad the Sox signed one of the best relievers on the market when they have a clear need after they deal Kimbrel7 points

It makes me very pleased they seem to realize adding a front line SP is vital…5 points

Honestly, I’m not a big fan of the name Cavan, but to each his own. Biggio is fine.5 points

Cishek believes the trade market for kimbrel has heated up and that a trade will materialize by the first.5 points

Vaughn since there's a lot better chance of Eloy becoming a great to elite hitter. We can say that because we've seen it. Vaughn we haven't seen anything. Of course the real answer is neither when their values are both at low points.5 points

I also like the fact that for teams in need of a proven reliever, signing Graveman improves the market for Kimbrel.4 points

More big commitments to relievers. Hahn baffles me with his obsession with investing heavily in relievers coming off career seasons. Sox have big holes to fill and here they are buying more relief pitching. Smh4 points

I am not familiar enough with Graveman to comment but seems like a lot of years and guaranteed money for someone who has had 1 good (okay amazing) year out of the pen in his entire career. It is puzzling how much money is tied up to the pen at this point.4 points

I have no idea. Probably depends on Scott Boras. Trading Andrew Vaughn will be a mistake though and they shouldn't do it.4 points

I like that they’re being aggressive but they seem to lack creativity. Always going after recent performance (paying top $ for recent success ) isn’t always the formula to win.3 points

We like Robbie Ray and a 2B like Semien. I like millions of dollars and hot actresses.3 points

Fantastic news, as I just like to hear they’re going after big time guys3 points

Lol…you’d be bitching about their shit bullpen come July when all their unproven guys flop again next year. And then you’d b**** about having to overpay for quality relievers at the deadline. It’s an endless cycle with you guys…rinse repeat year after year.3 points

I don't know why relievers don't take this more seriously with their music. I feel like no one remembers this, but there was a small window where Jenks was coming out to The Game from Motorhead and it was sooooo awesome.3 points

I'll b**** about the Sox paying for guys at their absolute peak value as long as they keep doing it. It will never stop being stupid; just as it was stupid for Kimbrel, it is stupid for Graveman. Find guys before their one breakout campaign, stop signing them after it. Just my thoughts. I'm not a fan of the sustainability of Graveman as a reliever. I could be wrong.3 points

Yawn. They're trading Kimbrel. I am not rehashing how terrible that move was. I have been consistently against that since hte day it happened; as I believe you were/are as well. They're losing Kopech, Tepera and Kimbrel from 2020 pen. A reliever quite obviously needed to be added. I am not going to lose sleep over $8M. If Kimbrel doesn't get traded, go ahead and b**** about paying these 3 relievers $40M.3 points

another year, another offseason where Soxtalk thinks the Dodgers are going to deal from depth ?3 points
-
Yes, sorry to say this is the going rate for relievers. And while teams are good at finding relievers each year, playoff teams do tend to pay for them because nobody wants to be the phillies. For example, check out Relievers in arb3. They aren't cheap.3 points
-
Yes, most good/well run teams in contention lock up 25% of their payroll in their bullpen. How about bitching about the Sox making another big investment (by their standards) in a freaking bullpen arm when they have more pressing needs and aren't known as big spenders? Graveman's can be found/had/developed every year before they have their one breakout season. Maybe stop paying top of market prices for guys coming off career years?3 points

Most teams find relievers on the cheap or development them. It's not a reliable position to lock in aging players coming off one good year doing it.3 points

It’s your righty set up man....this should assure everyone that Kimbrel is long gone3 points

I fully expect Champ to be the new GM and Pace to move up. The big change will be - Ted Phillips will move into a role outside of football operations. If Pace moving up to president is what it takes to remove Ted from football operations, I am okay with it. I have my beef with Pace but Champ is supposedly highly respected and it allows football people to be football people, especially if Champ has more control at that point. Is the above what I would do, no, but getting a new HC, removing Teddy from football, and getting a quasi new GM is better than nothing. I also think Pace can be a better president than a GM.3 points

Where was it stated the rumor was real? Why would the Brewers trade Burnes last offseason? It made no sense.3 points

Gif of the year. Along with the perviously declared post of the year… we can now close this board @Chisoxfn.3 points

I think they'll make a couple moves before Dec 1 but I'm not sure it's going to be for a big money guy. This is me connecting some dots on things I've heard but it seems (seems) like teams want to sign players before Dec 1 but the players want to wait it out and see what the new CBA looks like. I would be a little surprised if they signed a big money guy before Dec 1 but I probably shouldn't be beacuse this is such a crazy off season. I guess that's a long winded way to say who F'ing knows.3 points

I think I just threw up. Why is everyone in a hurry to trade Vaughn? Please baby Jesus, tell me this isn't the plan.3 points

If Conforto is on the team in 2022, I think it's very likely he signs before the deadline. Just my hunch.3 points

I dunno, if this org wants to trade Vaughn, I'd hope they'd aim higher than mid rotation starter3 points

While I'm fine discussing any player on this roster for access to some truly elite talent, what I'd hope does not happen is the sox deciding Vaughn is a trade chip and shop him as a centerpiece until they find the best deal. Though I think there is zero chance Pirates sell on Reynolds, he certainly fits the bill. But the things that may seem like big issues with the Sox (too right handed) can pale in comparison to issues that could arise (can't hit at all) and at this point there is no top 5 pick arriving to replace and no clear alternative in sight unless you are a big Burger believer. I really just don't think "too much" of something is an issue, and when you try to balance the cupboards too cutely, you can end up with not enough of either. Say we end up with this scenario: - Vaughn is crushing the ball but can't find at bats, while Eloy struggles. If we traded vaughn, what we'd have is just a weaker Eloy. - Eloy crushes it but Vaughn still just an avg bat. If we didn't trade vaughn, we may have lost on some added value, but have a great left fielder and we don't care. I'd much rather deal with #2. Let's just make sure the line in the sand we draw for Vaughn is for a type of player that is difficult to acquire, and not just one that will seem helpful to balancing us in 2022.3 points

Even if one isn't a fan of Eloy, and I am - selling low on him right now would be horrible asset management.3 points

Why would we want to give up all those seasons of Vaughn for just two of Gurriel, when he just managed to put up a 1.5 fWAR season with 21 homers and 62 RBI's? That would be pretty close to the absolute floor for what we would expect with Vaughn getting regular playing time next year. And it's not like he's a particularly strong defender, either. Doesn't make much sense for the White Sox.2 points
