Nightengale’s sources are in FO, possibly JR himself. May be an attempt to blame players instead of management.5 points

Such a weird coincidence Hahn keeps finding shitty locker rooms under him.4 points

Things I expected TLR to be good at when he was hired: 1. Has playoff experience 2. Knows how to manage a clubhouse Things TLR is actually good at: 1. 2. 3.4 points

Duh. This was EXACTLY what my top worry was when they hired this clown, and it has been obvious all year long that this team isn't right.4 points
-
When your team sucks you get overlooked. He will get in as a replacement.4 points

I think it is two fold. One Kenny foreshadowing changes might happen and it goes for these reasons (maybe a major leaguer or two for other major leaguer deal) and two buying time for next offseason when they clean some of it up (if the new mgr they bring in doesn’t fix it). TLR looks awful in this leak and I don’t see JR as the person who would make TLR look bad in public.3 points

Personally, I'm shocked that this struggling team isn't rallying behind a 109 year old racist drunk. Shocked!3 points

Anybody blaming this shit on Tim Anderson is about as tone deaf as Fergie.3 points

Saw this on my Twitter feed too. Carlos is a clearly a good teammate.3 points

Or maybe the “cliques” are pro Tony and anti Tony? I’ve got to imagine there is a group of players enraged by his shit decision-making and leadership.3 points

Michael was hurt on 6-12 He's thrown 5 four seam fastballs 96 or higher since then. He had 64 before that.3 points

I absolutely agree that if you traded for a top 3 player that this team would be way better3 points

Here's my latest mock draft for those interested: https://soxmachine.com/futuresox/2022-mlb-draft-report-mock-draft-iv/3 points

Nothing else puts this team back on course for the next few years IMO. Gotta play big ball in the FO. Get the best LH bat in the game, then extend him for $400M when the time comes. He might be a little discounted right now too. Rick, Kenny, Jerry…I’m with you but you gotta go big. Cmon dudes. We have the pitching.2 points

I feel like this is NOT Jerry. Between the initial TLR leak, and now this one, neither reflected well on the team/organization. Going after Tony in the media seems like Rick or Kenny.2 points
-
TLR is clearly Captain America, cause they're probably about the same age.2 points

There was a level of joy and togetherness surrounding this team in 2019 + 2020 which made them so fun to watch. That's been gone the last 2 seasons. I think the confidence they played with, the change the game attitude etc is something that should have made this group of players special and it's pretty much gone now. Maybe that's all projecting because I don't like TLR, but just putting aside the tactical stuff which we all know he's terrible at, what he's (seemingly) done to hurt the clubhouse culture has made this team so much less fun to watch on a daily basis.2 points

Hopefully this is Rick Hahn and/or Kenny Williams trying to get Tony to leave or Jerry to let them fire him.2 points

Not that this is telling us anything we didn't already know, but there is really nothing left TLR does well if he can't hold a clubhouse together2 points

Bob Nightengale is an idiot....unless he says something I want to hear! Rick Hahn's lawyer skills are strong.2 points

It's the same core of players they had in 2019-20 and there weren't clubhouse issues then. What's changed (rhetorical quesiton)?2 points
-
Exactly. This is my guess. Otherwise I have a hard time really thinking where these cliques could be. But this shouldn’t be a surprise for anyone who has watching this team play a lot in 22. A lot of uninspired play.2 points

If anything, leaking this is bad for somebody like the manager. Not necessarily the players. It's LaRussa's job to make sure the clubhouse runs well and doesn't get divided.2 points

Yeah just IL him after this game with the plan of bringing him back in Colorado following ASG. Get a fresh arm up for next 2 days and keep Martin after the DH Tue. Gives his arm and knee 16 days of rest.2 points
-
Pathetic. Leury playing in his place. This is not the time for a Sunday lineup. TLR is so predictably bad that is risible.2 points

I hurt my knee in college slipping on a wet field in southern Illinois on a weekend game. I still pitched after this because I wanted to be a warrior. I was super tough and did it because I didn't want to let my team down. I took shots and it seems slightly altered my mechanics to compensate for the pain of landing on my plant leg. I didn't do this on purpose I just didn't realize it. I wound up tearing my labrum a month later. The problem with compensating for an injury is that if it can mess with your mechanics other bad things can happen.2 points

I agree he needs to go on the IL till after the break to give his arm some rest before this knee issue leads to something else. Then sometime after the break throw him back in the rotation for some more innings2 points

Staring right at a 2-5 home stand against our own weak division. But things are going to turn around any day now, am I right TLR?2 points

He’s never thrown this many innings before. His arm is toast right now2 points

Kopech isn't trusting his knee. That is why is velocity is down. They said they had to drain fluid off it. He is one of those guys who is out of shape. Big part of the reason this team is hurt all the time.2 points
-
Mena doesn't look as sharp as I've seen in the past as far as command goes, but still has 4 SO through 3.0 IP. One of those coming on a pitch clock violation. One hard hit double against him, while the rest has been weak contact.2 points

While I'm still on the prep bat train, I think Prielipp would be a great get if available here.2 points

I was just in traffic behind a car with the bumper sticker "Apathy is NOT an option." I hate to break it to them but I follow the 2022 White Sox and I know for a fact that apathy is ABSOLUTELY an option.2 points

If Soto were on the block… nah, don’t torture yourself, they just don’t have the expendable assets. There wouldn’t be enough left to put a legit team around him.2 points

There is no way that's what it would take It would be more like Montgomery, Colas, Sosa, Kopech and Vaughn It would also take an owner who would give out a deal like that which the Sox *checks notes* do not have2 points
