  2. You know what day it is, Kopech Day! Despite some recent success from KC and their hitters, Kopech should have an excellent start tonight if he can rely on the fastball and command it in the upper part of the strike zone. He really needs to dial it back a little and let the ball naturally move and not try and throw it 110 mph bc that is where his command issues originate. Most importantly if he can avoid the fastball sitting middle-down and avoid anything hanging he should come away with the win tonight as our hitters are facing grandpa Greinke Go Sox let's get a win tonight!

  4. to be fair to romy, and yes its been a terrible year, he's been on the IL for a lot of that

  5. There was a clear stop sign at 3rd there and let’s be honest most would have been held with where it was hit to. That’s all on Sheets

  6. They can't DFA Marisnick fast enough to give Clint a look.

  7. The stewards have determined South Side Hit Men has won the photo finish. Thanks for checking in, such a great game. Hate I can search Twitter for highlight videos, but hope to post a few in a hot minute.

  8. Tanner McDougal looked real good tonight. Not overthrowing and more under control. Real fun to watch on the mound

  9. Lopez is a local product? Huh, who knew.

  10. Greinke may be the worst starter in baseball or one of 'em. Tonight has to be an automatic W. Don't care about jinxes. This team isn't good nuff to worry about jinx statements. Just beat this pathetic Royals team or will Massey and Lopez single handedly beat Chicago cause they have a few family and friends in the stands? This sad excuse for a team needs to dust off the pathetic Royals like everybody else does. Final: Sox 9, KC 2. On to game two. Right?

  11. He's thinking about those big contracts those free agent short stops signed this off-season.

  12. Extraordinarily fortunate with starting pitchers. Perhaps Katz should receive some credit for that at least?

  13. And everything else isn’t remotely the same, which makes their troll bit so tired.

  14. If everything else was the same between them, a difference in range factor of 0.25 means an extra out every 4 games. That means an extra 27 outs every 108 games. In a full season, that tiny difference would translate to an extra 1.5 defensive wins if everything else were the same.

  15. It's called fundamentals...an unknown word to this organization, and like with the front office there is no accountability for being "baseball-stupid."

  16. 2023 Moncada - DWAR -.1 / 1 Error / 2.53 Range Factor 2023 Burger - DWAR -.2 / 1 Error / 2.25 Range Factor Not much of a difference

  17. Moncada played 2B most of his life. Burger played 3B most of his life. Seems obvious.

  18. Moncada isn’t tradeable. Burger needs to be in the lineup. If you’re going to try to get away with Hanser at 2nd, you can try Burger there.

  20. For a player that could be traded to a perennial champion and looking at $100M+ payday he doesn't appear to be the part. I'm thinking his trade value is cratering and teams may shy away from him. If I had to guess he is mad about his contract and the White Sox will not renegotiate. A 32 year old Tim Anderson isn't getting even the Javy Baez contract.

  21. I never fail to be amused by the duality of “This player is worthless - get rid of him/we will reap the finest crop of prospects in exchange for his outstanding talent” that is sports fandom. No slight intended to anyone here; every team’s fanbase does this. It’s just funny, is all.

  22. For a guy with big contract aspirations, he's in for a rude awakening. He'll be lucky to break $100M at the rate he is trending defensively and offensively.

  23. Yep those 2 wins sucked me in again, then today happened. They really need a sweep of the Royals.

  24. Those first two wins of the series (with homers) were making me think Sox were gonna go on a binge at least at home. They were awful today; as dull a game as they've had all season.

  25. Very true We are back to the old dilemma of the bottom 4 in the lineup having no power, and our leadoff hitter also has lost his power.

  27. Grifol looks like low energy. Not what we need with this bunch. IMO.

  28. He is not the only one. Sox hitters don’t like to take walks. That’s why we don’t score many runs with lots of hits.

  29. Our 7-9 hitters have been brutal this season.

  30. It’s hard to win games with not scoring with the bases loaded and no outs, not taking walks and awful defense as shown by TA today.

  33. After the All-Star break Hoyt, Dotson and Bannister went 42-5. That's right...42-5. Not only were those guys unbeatable, they didn't miss starts or have inning limitations. Those were the days.

  34. The Sox have scored three runs or less in 25 of the 45 games played. 55% of all games. That's what happens when you have a few automatic outs in the lineup to go along with a bunch of undisciplined free swingers.

  35. Tony and team outcoached, outplayed, outsmarted. Tony didn't have syringes until he went to Oakland.

  36. No killer instinct from this team. A sweep would have been a nice little boost. Grifol gives me zero confidence. I would like to think they would come out with some fire this weekend after being embarrassed by the Royals last week but I really do not expect them to do so.

  37. Once Hendriks comes back and with Crochet back. The additions of Santos and Middleton- the Sox may have something in the bullpen.

  40. Don't forget Noah Schultz. He's currently resting up his forearm as well. Could be 6 months into his rehab instead.

  41. Covey’s on the Dodgers now. The Dodgers. He’ll win 15 games with an ERA under 3 because… magic. I dunno. They just do things to pitchers.

  45. So, heading into a supposed contending season with Davis Martin as the only viable minor league SP depth may not have been a good idea after all.

  46. I can think of him, Garret Crochet, and Dane Dunning off the top of my head of guys that it seemed obvious they were going to need Tommy John surgery but the White Sox pushed it back and tried to have them work through it and avoid surgery. Have the Sox had success with anyone actually avoiding TJ or do they just cost themselves several months worth of recovery time constantly?

  48. Resurfacing ... Rick Hahn is a spineless twerp, who will ride this out as long as possible because it's the last job he'll ever get. #worstGMinsportshistory
