  1. This is the main reason the window was always going to be 2020-2023. You could see it coming years ago. If Crochet was turned into a starter and Kopech had developed the way they wanted, they would be in a decent spot, but the odds of both of them developing was always a longshot. There weren’t many circumstances Gio was going to be resigned and Lance Lynn is going to be 37 in 2024. Again, that’s why all of this is pointless. The window is closed, there is absolutely no pitching depth in the organization, and Rick will seemingly be tasked with rebuilding the rebuild. Never been a worse time to be a Sox fan.

  2. He would probably be a fucking Cy Young candidate in another organization. That's not even a compliment to Kopech as much as it is an indictment on this piece of s%*# organization.

  4. This team has derailed so many careers. I feel bad for so many players that have come through this dumpster fire of an organization from 2013 and on.

  5. I do hear from most;y cub fans that "nobody goes to SOx games' or "they should move the team" I discount the comments as they are cub fans If we can only hang on until JR passes......

  6. Yup, up until they have five years of service time. Just unclear how long he’d need to be down for to claw back a year.

  7. Garrett Crochet will be the starting rotation in 2024.

  8. With this quote he admits they are not prepared. And they game after this quote, they seemed even less prepared. That’s his job. He has failed. Time to move on.

  9. The reason the Sox suck isn’t Pedro Grifol. But, and I was very impressed with his introductory press conference when hired, he’s all talk. The team isn’t prepared. They were still on break last night. They don’t hustle. They don’t control the zone like we were told they will on both sides of the ball. In fact, they are one of baseballs worst. He has no guts to put TA in a different slot I’m the order. His bullpen usage is wacky. Hitters seem like they never have read a scouting report or looked at video at way too many pitchers. The best manager in the world may have this team in contention because they only have to be around .500. It’s rather obvious Pedro is in over his head. What exactly does he bring that Ricky Renteria did not? A competent front office would let him go at the end of the season. A competent owner would let the GM go by now. I have the feeling they all will be back next year. If they are and somehow put together a team that should be decent, Pedro’s bad managing will be a reason they failed. Just another in a long line of JR, KW, RH mistakes.

  10. If he can't throw strikes he's not even good as a relief pitcher. He's simply missed to much time, had to many injuries, had to much off the field drama and the Sox haven't done him a lot of favors with his development. Another failed "core" player.

  11. I really liked this kid and hoped he would become a good pitcher for the Sox. Now it would be best for him to be traded to the Tampa organization so that his career could be saved.

  13. It was over after they lost 10 in a row. It was over when they were obliterated on the home opener. s%*#, it was over when Hahn just ran it back with this dope selling us fresh BS. It’s over. Burn it to the fucking ground.

  15. Hes 27. Hes not a rookie anymore. This org is trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. Hes not a starter. Put him back in the bullpen where he belongs and where he has had success.

  17. Pretty naive to believe that the head coach was completely unaware of years of systemic hazing, bullying, and abuse happening right under his nose. Making black assistant coaches cut their dreads wasn't a good look either.

  19. In honor of the anniversary, perhaps mods just merge all threads into one mega "Fire Rick Hahn" thread because that's basically what all the other ones boil down to anyway.

  20. I know you've told me that before, and that's fine by me. It seems the corporation that runs the Dodgers is doing just fine. However I'm still not convinced some mega billionaire like Cohen of the Mets, can't go solo to buy the Sox instead of a collection of billionaires who form a corporation like the Dodgers did. Either way the next owner or owner group, need to be about winning as a first priority, spending money like a 3rd largest market team should and recruiting away and hiring the best baseball executives and people from the winning organizations.

  21. Why don't we just leave Crochet in the minors for the rest of the year to try and build him up and work on a 3rd pitch too? I dont expect it to work as they already fucked up his career rushing him but maybe we could try? I think there was some article like a month ago kind of suggesting he could start next year possibly. Worst case it doesn't work and he's back in the BP again but this rotation could really use a legit lefty with good stuff as it will be awhile before Schultz is in the majors...like probably not till 25, IMO. If they can snag someone like Pepiot from LAD (part of Gio compensation) and like Roby from TEX (Lynn) and maybe you snag another close to MLB prospect if someone I desperate for some BP arms, I think we can make the rotation halfway decent. I still believe in Kopech, but maybe try a new pitching coach.

  22. @Chicago White Sox @Quin Can we add another option when you like a post even above the purple trophy one? For posts that are especially savage like this one, how about a little pic of Macho Man Randy Savage? I mean we got TLR and Hawk how about a Savage option?

  23. I wish I could ask fans to keep it up, but there is no point. This team is such a s%*# sandwich that there is no way to justify spending money watching them. I'm taking the family to Houston in a few weeks and we will just go see an Astros game for entertainment with Abreu shirts or something.

  28. Keep the embarrassment going Sox fans! Sox fans need to quit wasting their money and more importantly, if they finally want change, they need to stop spending money on this POS organization. I don't give sh#t if Jerry still makes money from other sources, his demented ego will not handle this well when he sees a massive attendance decline, that will be a laughable embarrassment to his franchise and the other baseball owners he is SO MUCH SMARTER than.

  29. But this illustrates the general problem we have. We have literally zero pitching depth in the upper minors and our payroll is going to be slashed. Rick Hahn hasn’t been able to fix 2B & RF despite being holes for multiple years…imagine him trying to patch together 3/5 of a rotation.

  30. I've never seen Frank Thomas as upset with a Sox team as he was last night. I'm glad he and Ozzie ripped the team. Gordon and Pods should never be on another post-game show because they are too soft and will never rant and rave and throw managers and players under the bus. Going forward for the rest of this miserable season, I wish it could only be Frank and Ozzie with Chuck.

  31. The Sox should option Kopech down to AAA to let him work through his s%*# and see if they can claw back a year of control somehow. The fact we’re still trying to make him a positive fWAR starter who can handle +160 innings when he’s 2 1/2 years from free agency is remarkable.

  33. Put Pedro, his coaches, TA, Grandal and RH on a one way ticket flight anywhere out of town as far as possible for starters.

  34. Hopefully they both go, but this team (which is admittedly flawed) has performed at the worst case level of potential performance and that’s on Grifol. Dude is softer than a fucking pillow and has allowed the team to already quit on him.

  35. Ozzie on the postgame show: "I don't want to talk about Pedro because every time Pedro talks I get aggravated" ? "He says Kopech throw the ball good - he's throwing 98-99 miles an hour, but he can't throw strikes. He says Kopech feels good. How does he know? He doesn't know...Kopech feels good, Anderson feels good...everybody feels good. I'm just going to flush this because I don't want to talk about him."

  37. Honestly, kinda. If there’s one thing I’ve thought has been missing from this organization for 15 years, from the GMs on down; it’s been professionalism. That doesn’t mean you can’t have fun, but that means you respect your colleagues, you put in your work, you know the guy next to you is doing his best. It’s a billion dollar business, maybe treating it like that. From the White Sox, we always get these childish tantrums. This sounds like me when I was 8 years old and not wanting to go to bed. “Balta come on it’s 8:30” “waaaa no it’s not over”. This is how the manager handles his business and you expect me to spend extra time doing fielding drills? To study a scouting report in detail?
