Enjoyed the game. Always like going to Citi Field. Sat in the cheap seats, so I don't have a nuanced view of how they won. Thrilled that Kopech was able to keep it together through some control lapses. Bummer looked pretty darn good. Fun day out at the ballpark.4 points

We've been waiting for them to really turn things around, and they haven't done it. 90 or more losses now seems very possible. So much for the rebuild. Nice effort in Atlanta, but this team really isn't very talented. Most disappointing season I have experienced as a fan. It's been a while since this club has been at such a low point.4 points

Do you count the latest one day absence and the appendectomy this year against Eloy....or the injury celebrating a home run...or the injury and surgery because he reached over the fence to catch a home run? Give the kid a break. Al major league players sustain injuries. Eloy has been switched to DH and it appears that he is in better physical condition now. We need his bat in the line-up or we don't have a chance, this year or next year. You don't deal away superstar players or those who have that upside because they are not easy to replace.3 points

So then is Jerry right? I think it sucks that the Sox aren't really players in FA but that's even more evidence to sink a lot of resources into scouting and player development because that's where the value is.3 points

And if you pro-rate that 2020 salary to the $6.75M he actually got paid, he was paid $25M to produce 5.2fWAR over the first 2 years of his deal, which worth about $45-50M. So he was a honestly a bargain the first two seasons, but the last two have been rough. But that's just free agency. Tough to b**** about the Sox not spending money, and then b**** when they do and you still have to pay guys after their prime. Its just how it works. (not directed at you, btw)3 points

I think TA is finding his groove. I have been very critical of him but if we can get the TA that he is capable off then I dont want him traded3 points

I created this thread and good thing I did take it to the sportsbook back in early April ? 90 plus losses and no playoffs for the Sox is a lock. Easiest $$$ I made all year.3 points

I will be at this game. I will try to send positive vibes to Eloy’s groin.3 points

Remember when the return of Eloy was met with great anticipation? Now I don't think I really care.3 points

I blame last night's loss on the Mod's using the 2nd thread starters title when merging. Definite jinx.3 points

It’s just been three years of bad decisions from the roster to manager that have just come to roost this season. The FO fell in love with the ‘genius’ of acquiring these young players but never really started a rebuild after that, let alone complete it. They did victory laps without winning really anything and now, in 2023, we are seeing the result.3 points

The talent level is awful. Having to give at bats to guys like Perez and Sheets and Andrus is pathetic, and Colas is clearly not a major leaguer at this point.3 points

No run is forthcoming especially when they deal half the pitching staff. Regarding Eloy, I hope he rakes for the next 10 days, then he can go to someone else and continue missing games for various ways, means, aches and pains.2 points

Apparently obviously referring to his "Hi mom" routine. Parsing like that is such BS. Give it a break already man.2 points

Please no. Don't need this front office thinking they have a chance leading up to deadline.2 points

He was worth it in 2020 and 21. Not in 2022 and 23. That's the point I was making. Grandal was worth 1.6 fwar in 60 games in 2020 and 3.6 in 2021. He keeps up that production and nobody is complaining. This is my point.2 points
-
Grandal was definitely not worth it. We paid this guy $73 million dollars for 3 WAR over 4 years.2 points

I honestly don't feel bad for injuries like this. It's just like Quentin's. Controlling emotions is part of the game. If Eloy did this, it'd be non-stop mockery. If Moncada did it, it'd be "he finally shows emotion and of course he gets hurt."2 points

Yaz been hitting a bit lately. Hopefully enough for someone to grab him, because I agree - may as well just see what we have with Perez 3-4 days a week.2 points

In fairness, Vaughn has played in 94 of the 97 starts for White Sox. So maybe Verlander has eaten him up in the past or maybe he just needed a day off. But to your point, Vaughn needs to be in as many games as possible even if worst case he ends up being a trade chip down the road.2 points

This thread is not even on page one when sorted by most replies. Need to get to 238 pages to claim the top spot in terms of responses. This thread is .378 on the way there, closing in soon on Rick Hahn's win percentage.2 points

Yikes, four pages for a game thread? I don’t think people fully understand how bad this season is for the future of this franchise. People really don’t care about the team anymore. It’s well past hatred and firmly into apathy.2 points

colas.. just another young player with a dumbfuck approach. Do we teach these guys to have such a idiotic approach or do we just do a good job of finding stupid players?2 points

Timmy just has lost all ability to pull a fastball in the air. Such a bad player now2 points

WTF. Does the word "disabled" offend you? It was called the DL for over 100 years, and it was acceptable until a bunch of political zealots got your collective way. Asshole.2 points

Yes, it is time for Stone to go. He demeaned himself when he played the role of Reinsdorf spokesman. He should go before he does more damage to himself.1 point
-
Reinsdorf always looking for ways to troll the base so no telling who would be next. He hired an unwanted neophyte from KC - the city that was the inspiration for that obsolete on delivery ballpark. Could have been in the South Loop raking up the cash in a modern day version of Wrigley Field - devoid of bad plumbing and undesirable vermin - human or otherwise.1 point
-
Guessing it is both. The Sox don't teach very well and as history shows they get a large number of "baseball-stupid" players.1 point
-
They have no idea how to teach these guys how to be effective major league hitters1 point
-
They do a really good job of finding Quad A guys. Their approach works in Charlotte, not in Chicago.1 point
-
Agreed! Hahn is not a good poker player in terms of player evaluation and trading world of baseball, as he doesn't know when to Holdem or Foldem.1 point

With the lease expiring in a few years they're not going to do anything major in or around the park.1 point

I do hear from most;y cub fans that "nobody goes to SOx games' or "they should move the team" I discount the comments as they are cub fans If we can only hang on until JR passes......1 point
