  1. So much wrong with this. Trading prospects for Salvy both acknowledges they think this group can still be salvaged and that they plan to compete next year. And the Hahn the water-carrying is beyond pathetic. Yes, he wasn’t allowed to sign the premier free agents and was forced La Russa, but he’s also responsible for the broader organization that wasn’t able to provide a pipeline of talent and wasted tens of millions of dollars on crap free agents.

  2. Gave this a lotta thought. Betts was wrong. What were the Sox supposed to do, go after the winner of a fair fight? They did the right thing by getting Timmy the hell out of harms way, thx, AV.

  3. Dipshit Hahn getting paid $5M to sit there and not do it 'his way' ... get the f*** outta here you whiny little b****. This is your team, you're in charge, you suck, you failed, you are the worst GM in professional sports, have one of the worst legacies in team history, but you can retire rich because you have an idiot boss.

  4. Just release Grandal. He is not coming back and if he's a problem in the clubhouse, what's the point. Are we really gonna lose any more games with Carlos in there?

  8. my wifes grandma used to take a .25 dose of xanax for anxiety when she got nervous. she was 92-93 at the time. either Kopech has to start taking one before his starts so he can relax, or i'm gonna have to take one when he pitches.

  11. Might be the biggest no brainer to buy out his 15 million option. Sorry Liam, you're one of the good ones, but unfortunately this is a business and this front office failed you and your teammates in maintaining a winning product. Uncle Jerry will take care of him on the side with the 1.5 mil per year for the next 10 years.

  12. It's very strange that they started a swing change so soon. Usually teams let first year guys (especially top picks) go out and play then if they need to make swing adjustments do it during instructs so they can work on them during the off season. I have no idea why they would start that process immediately after the draft.

  17. Watching a legit manager against an imposter like Grifol is a stark comparison. It's sad to see us fail at virtually every aspect of baseball. The sadder thought is this clown show of JR, Williams, and Hahn aren't going anywhere. They are why we can never have nice things.

  26. Caminero has 2 HR in the game. The first one was a rocket. The second one got into a jet stream blowing out to right. Bush had moments with his breaking stuff of looking pretty good. If he gets his velo back up closer to what it was in college (or even last year) you can imagine him as a back end starter. Currently, he's much more of an up and down guy. No way he's a Top Ten guy in their system like Pipeline claims. For my money Cannon > Bush, Mena > Bush, and personally McDougal > Bush albeit with a lot of risk.

  27. MLB players face enormous stress, between the highly competitive industry and the fact their careers are condensed under years, not the 3-4 decades most humans work. For nearly a century of Jerry, very few quality free agents select his MLB / NBA teams. It’s nearly always a player with no other options. I suspect the talent disparity between the Sox and most other teams would grow further if there was no domestic draft, and if players had a shorter window to free agency.

  28. Garfien as pregame and postgame host is around the team all the time he is always referring to conversations he has had with players current and former. I'm guessing there's a lot more he knows that he isn't telling. And this is a big change for him and I welcome it, in my mind he's no longer a house organ.

  29. I have a problem with the skits....anytime I've watched they take 1 joke and run it to the ground for 12 minutes. Less is more in my book. I don't get how a room full of writers can't do better in a week....South Park does. Ok that's the end of my old man rant.....In my day, the skits were short and funny, and we liked it!!!

  37. So my optimism is telling me that Charlotte blows because that's where the Hostetler draftees reside (as well as a weak cast of AAAA players, the best of which are now with the big club). Birmingham was terrible for the same reason, but is getting better because the Shirley draftees are moving in. And the Shirley drafts are really showing in A and A+ ball.

  39. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/arizona-diamondbacks-held-players-only-235220453.html Many people across the league, inside and out, reacted to the fight; two MLB players, Mookie Betts and Corbin Carroll included. Carroll admitted his team, the Arizona Diamondbacks, had a meeting about the fight, discussing the scenario hypothetically for future protocol. "We had a team meeting about it. Players only," Carroll said to Mookie Betts. "Basically, we said that if someone gets knocked out on the field, there is no way that there is nothing thrown after that." The umpires seemingly allowed Anderson and Ramírez to fight, which is rare in the sport. Rarely do two players engage in fighting stances and read their opponent before tossing haymakers and an over-the-top knockout punch. But, what Carroll and the Diamondbacks jointly observed was the aftermath. "No one fought after," Carroll said. "They kind of just stood around," Betts said. "You gotta protect your boy, right?" Carroll added. "You gotta protect your boy," Betts said. The fight did indeed escalate into a multi-round brawl between both AL Central teams. Though, no one rebelled against Ramírez, as his Guardian teammates kept him untouched after the fact. Not that continuing the violence is the right solution, but Carroll's observation holds some weight. Anderson tried fighting after-the-fact, before being carried to the dugout by Andrew Vaughn. Eloy Jiménez slapped the dugout fence in anger after his foot seemingly was trampled from the brawl. Pedro Grifol also got in on the scuffle.

  40. Anyone else start to get a little excited while reading these lists, only to realize you were much more excited about much better prospects during the start of the rebuild and that amounted to nothing? Then you get really depressed and start looking forward to the Bears season? Asking for a friend.

  42. Sorry but TA did start it, by throwing his glove to the floor hockey style and putting up his fists like a comedy boxer. If that is how he reacts when someone points at him he has serious anger issues. And as for saying that punching someone in retaliation would show club pride that is utter macho drivel. Anyway retaliate for what? TA squared up, threw the first punch, then got knocked on his ass, so Ramirez was just retaliating TA's childish tantrum.

  43. Serving pain haha. First of all, it wasn’t a brawl. It was a one-on-one fight. And to call Ramirez soft after he put our guy on his ass is hilarious. He may be soft, but what does that make our guy? Neither one of them looked like they’d ever thrown a punch before, but the results are what they are.

  45. Kopech had Ramirez wrapped up. Instead of handling business, he tried to gingerly separate he and TA, which led to TA getting knocked out. Kopech had a responsibility there and failed.

  46. This isn't a playground full of second graders out on recess. This is professional sports. It's an absurdly bad look not to retaliate in a situation where reactions are read as indicators of pride, culture, cohesiveness, and brotherhood. No manager is going to punish his guys for suspensions they may receive while sticking up for their teammates. Outside of, apparently, Pedro Grifol, most managers would applaud such a reaction. And TA didn't start that s%*#, Ramirez's soft ass started it. TA didn't stand over him long enough for Jose to get in his feels about it. Then he poked his finger right in TA's grill. It's game on at that point. I'm not a violent person and don't condone violence or fighting, in general. Sports are different...teammates are closer to family. Again, brotherhood. If my real-life brother were involved in a brawl, I'm going to be right there beside him serving pain to whomever I can. I'd do the same for a teammate.

  47. I mean if this is all of sports, you have to include places that have hazing, Kyrie Irving's constant destructive tendencies, the A's, LIV and Saudi sports washing, the Browns deciding sexual assault is worth commiting hundreds of millions to, etc. But a sports personality who is only listened to because his brother is a Hall of Famers went full hyperbole, which only serves to lessen the Sox dysfunction and malfeasance because Hahn or Kenny could see that and go "really?"
