    Crochet strikes out the side.
  2. I think you're going to be surprised how much better this team will be this year. I realize I'm one of the few people who think they're going to be good.. I think we're in for an exciting year!!!!

You’re right but Hahn had to Hahn. But conveniently, the team has yet to move to American Samoa and conver their roster to cricket, so a guy who needs innings can, during 2024, throw innings.
  5. We've made our playoff appearance for this decade. 2030 is the soonest we'll be competitive again. https://champsorchumps.us/team/mlb/chicago-white-sox

If Crochet is really throwing 100 mph again they should make him the closer and trade in July.
  7. The problem is that if Montgomery hits .111 or .200 at this level, he is likely going to develop bad habits that will ruin his growth for the long term. Give the kid time to actually develop in the minors (sounds like it won't take long), and let guys like DeJong struggle and be themselves. You won't do harm to the kid who actually matters to the long term success of the team.
  8. Best case scenario, with returns from a few more trades like Cease and Fedde, this team will have some guys who can step in and a fair amount of money to spend next offseason. They don’t look anything like a World Series champ, but getting close to .500 and being back to 4th place in the AL central is feasible. More realistically, that probably involves too many things going right. They don’t have a lot of talent in the organization and their development staff has yet to give us any reason for confidence. Especially with Grifol probably still managing in 2025, my guess is it looks a lot like 2023 - they make some signings, think they’re better than they are, and then disappoint. That is my standing prediction for 2026-2027 as well.
  9. How exactly does a guy who hasn’t yet made his big league debut in Nastrini have a $7.5 million 2025 salary? I think this is an error but Rick Hahn was the GM for a long time so…
  10. And most of them have to pan out, since we have so few good position prospects.
  11. Need to develop some hitters. Quero, Montgomery and Ramos would be a good start. But could use a real OF masher or 2.
  12. Another day, another desultory loss. Corpseball will be the go-to phrase describing the team this year.

I'm not a journalist. Is a writer supposed to get quotes, than lambaste their interviewee for how stupid they sound?
  14. Pitchers are banging down the door to play here.
  15. It's just a completely uninteresting ball club. But that's not a surprise in a lost season. Maybe we get some Colson/Ramos/Nastrini at some point, but until then I'll just watch the minor league affiliates.
  16. As a Sox fan I'd take what the Dodgers have done the last decade in a heartbeat and twice on Sunday. Can't win the World Series if you never get there as the Sox have found out.
  17. How many 26th man on a roster guys do the Sox have in camp? It feels like 50. Watching Mendick, Pillar, Remillard, Ortega etc is mondo depressing.
  18. Pillar is not someone I want to watch play baseball. I am sure he is great in the clubhouse, though.
  19. If I'm drafting him I'm absolutely sending him out as a 2 way guy and giving him every opportunity to prove he can do both. If he settles in as a power hitting 1B/DH and late inning reliever you have a very special player.
  20. If the Bears have really targeted, say Odunze, I could def. see them trading up to 7 or 8 to get their guy. Will cost a decent amount, but I could see Poles getting aggressive to get what he considers two absolute difference makers in the 1st round. I still think a stud OL at 9 makes sense if they are there, and I've beaten the drum on teams like the Packers and Texans having mediocre WR rooms and the QB's making the talent around them better, but I can get on board with the argument that putting Caleb in the best position and having DJ-Odunze to throw to in Year 1 is pretty attractive.
  21. Watching this team “hit” is like slowly watching your life bleed out.
  22. RemVP >>> Moustakas
  23. Crochet pitching now
  24. 2 hits, a walk, and 3 K's for Fedde in the 1st
  25. No kidding dipshit they were a 100 loss team last year. No one is turning that around overnight but at least after the trade deadline there will a lot of roster turnover and young players worth watching.
  26. Does 'slept on' mean something different in America, because here in the UK we would say they are being 'sh*t on'.
  27. We have been saying this every year, amazing how the FO refuses to admit it
  28. Also zero reason to blow a year of control unless he's legitimately earned it...forcing the issue.
  29. 14-3 LOL. I really want to hear from the delusional fans that think the Sox are going to be good this year.
  30. When you suck as hard as Timmay did last year, you would be celebrating every time you got on base as well. .1000 slugging percentage with Instagram whores, .261 on base percentage at his actual job. ? Just imagine if the Sox would’ve wasted $14 million on this loser’s option.
  31. He is such a schmuck. There can't be anyone in that clubhouse taking this clown seriously.
  32. It's the least ownership deserves. The fact that anyone cares is a miracle. It's like getting into a cab and the cab drive throws it into reverse.
  33. It's early, I know. But man, looking at this potential roster leaves me asking myself, will we break 100 HRs as a team this year? I understand the focus in "catching the ball", and in fact it's a great mask to use when trying to be cheap about constructing a roster. But baseball is about hitting HRs, and lots of them. It's hard to win without them.
  34. It’s…Sox Math…if you will.
  35. How many “I’m done with the Sox” comments do we need from them? Holmes is the worst of the bunch now. Can he go to Detroit with Benetti?
  36. Baseball games are the best way to spend time with my nephew and his kids. Sorry, I won't be boycotting my family just to support a bunch of cranks who hate everything, anyway.
  37. And this guy just blew way JR and the entire FO during his interview. Editors Note: blew Away
  38. His speech for 30 minutes was the best Chicago sports speech ever. Gretzky, Brett Hull, Dennis Rodman, Eddie Vedder were there. Old teammates everywhere. Talked about the champioships of the Bears, Bulls, called the Sox, " my Chicago White Sox". Made jokes about his deceased father's sometimes restaurant failures. He just seemed so at ease and in his element. Got the crowd to boo the Redwings. That was hilarious. Greatest Chicago born athlete . Mt Caramel Southside legend !
